Thomas, a human, has appeared in the magical land of Equestria, though it is much different from the show. Ponies of this world are all anthros. What's more, Thomas has been assigned as Princess Luna's royal concubine.

great we get to see a bit of how Jet thinks and feels
I don't miss Jet black would appreciate human history all that much. Hell, if Thomas let slip that we had two world wars, then that might be all the justification she needs to abduct him.
The Griffons tried a Chicken Run, and instead got Flushed Away?
Wonder what Jet and Moonlights reaction wouldve been if Thomas had ever seen the On The Buses scene with the paint in the drains and the cigarette?
Been meaning to get caught up. Anyway, my desire to see how Jet would react to an unfiltered version of human history has shot up. If only just to put Thomas' reaction into perspective. As a hobby-student of military history, I agree that the story was cute and a creative way of dealing with a serious situation, but I can't begin to compare it to the stories of heroism on the likes of Taffy 3-6, the Chasseurs Ardennais at the start of WW2, or the battle at Osowiec Fortress during WW1 (aka Attack of the Dead Men).
So the ponies think sewage is a fucked up chemical attack? It's not even lethal like chlorine, or hydrogen sulfide, or anything you'd use a fume hood for in a chemistry lab.
he who starts by burning books. will finish by burning men
was a saying or a prophecy. I had heard in a documentary who talks about the nazi
I do admire the ponies for there differences in actions during war than we humans. But i cannot agree their history is as dark as our own. Humans have wrought upon themselves what ponies may just see as hell. Humans however have pushed through the damage and kept going through it all and continue to lead on into the future.
While we may have pushed so much hatred and destruction, Humanity has also pushed love and light and inventions of amazing things. So while Jet and her cronies and group think humans are evil and dangerous, Humans are just like all else on our world, we grew up in a dark and dangerous world where nature ruled and we have began to pull out of this mindset as the world we have found ourselves is now changing.

Precisely the point. Thank you.

It would be hard for her to do that, on account of having so many eyes on her, especially her boss.

Clever word play.

A while ago I had started something based on that idea. Jet gets ahold of a game dream similar to Horse People Precursor Legacy, except it's one of may favorite FPS games.

Sewage makes for a great chemical weapon. Cover an arrow in feces and if the shot doesn't kill them the infection will. In the old days, diseased bodies used to be flung into cities during sieges to spread said disease. Early chemical warfare.

Pretty much what I was alluding to.

Firestorm has the most nuanced idea. Humans are chaotic, with equal capacity for evil and good. Jet is wary of the former because humans are so new, and it's natural to fear the unknown.

I can understand this fully well, but fear of the unknown should not be your only feeling towards him or other humans. A healthy balance should be what you want. As the wise master yoda once said. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate can lead to suffering.
While we humans had a fear of the unknown we also had a wonder of the unknown a curiosity of what may be out there. I mean who was that first brave soul to cross the red sea? Who were the people crossed whole continents. Without a wonder for the unknown how would we know so much of our universe?
Interesting story but I find myself pulling away from this story the more I have to deal with the whole spy organization subplot which seems to be becoming the main plot. The slice of life moments interest me, stories like the one in this are nice and interesting but the whole spy schtick just pulls me away from what I came to be interested in this story. It feels like a different genre in the slice of life/romance story. Then again, the communication issue is also starting to grate on my nerves as well because not communicating has always been a cheap and dumb drama for relationships for me.

Except that this is not only a different culture, but a different species. They think differently on a fundamental level. They view it as natural to control the weather while humans learned to just take it as it comes. Not to mention cutie marks. It's a common trope in human stories to fight destiny, an entirely alien concept to ponies who regard destiny as inherently good. Things like that lead to very different outlooks on the world. Plus, as Firestorm also pointed out, chaotic is an accurate word for humans, but it also has a heavy stigma. Discord happened and that left a permanent negative view of all things chaotic, so a whole species that's as random and destructive as a chaos god would naturally get a negative reaction from the largely docile and orderly ponies.

The drama element is indeed becoming more prominent, as was always the 'plan', but I also want to keep the main focus on the slice of life stuff. Thomas hangs out with his friends, they go places, chat it up, but I can't just keep doing the same things over and over or else the story will get stale. Just like the canon show, slice of life is the meat of the sandwich, but now there are more dramatic and action toppings to spice things up.

I suppose i should look and see it from such a perspective as theirs and can understand why such a way of life like ours may seem negative in their hearts and minds. But knowing how Luna and the rest of pretty much the castle staff and even ponyville have seen there is a good in this one particular human. It would be good to see somepony learn of human's rocky history and see past it remembering Thomas is not all humans just as Sombra, Starlight or someone like that doesn't represent all ponies.
10458376
I'd like to offer some reassurance that things will get better, but I won't. Part of the fun around Jet, at least from the perspective of the writer, is that she's a source of potential danger that can and will majorly screw things up if she finds the justification.
10459276
Ha ha well then all my regards to her and her life. Because its free trial for existing will have expired.
10459276
So, is she pony supremacist? Xenophobic? Cause Firestorm seemed like he had a pretty good grasp of the situation (gross privacy invasion aside). Like, as far as I can tell, there is no need for some deep cover agent getting close and possibly blowing the whole thing wide open. Really seems like she has an agenda coming into this, with her whole, "they're copying his idioms" shtick. Honestly, taking a step back, who's actually the danger in this relationship; the teenager with the body of a pony child, or the 8ft tall millennia old amazon sorceress. Call me skeptical, but Thomas ain't the one who knocks in this situation. Actually, can we get some human perspective on this and see what the ponies think about it, that'd be funny.
