This story is a sequel to Heir of the Sands

Over the course of the past two years, magic has been ebbing its way into the Human World. The incident at the Fall Formal, the Battle of the Bands, the First Journey into the Mysterious Beyond, and especially since the Friendship Games has this become more apparent with the Crusaders and Maximals being able to Pony Up and the Predacon Attack at school. Something is going up, and as graduation approaches for the Humane Seven, everyone is getting ready for the next bit of trouble.

And rear its ugly head trouble does again. Chrysalis and Sombra prepare their own army of super soldiers and Tirek prepares to take a visit to their beloved town. Will the secret be kept, or will this be the cause for a war that will determine the fate of the world? Can the Rainbooms and their allies end this threat as they have many a time? Join me as we explore the conclusion to the "Other Visits" Saga.

It’s been four years since the Lightbringer walked the Wasteland, shaking the world to its very core. Now however, the forces of change have begun to stagnate. With the fall of the Enclave and Red Eye and division of the Steel Rangers, numerous factions have risen to take their places. Fighting to gain freed power and resources reaches from the streets of Fillydelphia and Manehattan, to the southern borders of the fledgling New Canterlot Republic, and even north into what remains of the Crystal Empire.

A chapter of Steel Rangers, turned on by their own kind and forsaken by Wastelanders, travel north into the icy wastes, following intelligence of a preserved Stable buried beneath the abandoned crystal city of Amor. However, the ponies of Stable 13 aren’t the shrinking violets usually found in the great underground shelters.

For forty years, parties of Stable 13’s dwellers have traveled the Wasteland, moving among the shadows as average merchants, mercenaries, and raiders. Keeping their true nature and origin secret as they gathered materials and equipment to keep their home intact. The Rangers would not be able to simply waltz into their abode without paying a steep price in blood.

In the end, few survive the battle and those that do are left to the frozen wastes to be hunted by a sadistic mercenary named Wintermail. She searches for information once thought long lost, held by a mare believed to be long dead. Now, a shadow of Old Equestria and a young star of the future must fight for survival and struggle to find a place in a world falling into the grips of chaos.

Will the wheels of change bring about a great new era or grind the Wasteland into oblivion?

The Element of Magic is lost, the portal to Equestria is closed, and Sunset Shimmer is staring down 30 more moons in the human world with despair. But from the ruins of her plans comes hope in the form of Star Swirl the Bearded, a ghostly guide left behind by the Elements of Harmony. Can Sunset Shimmer learn from her failures and earn the friendship of a few friends? Or will the demon one day come back? Who is Sunset Shimmer now?

Fills in the gap from Equestria Girls to Rainbow Rocks, diverging slightly from continuity to tell a more complete story, slowly building Sunset Shimmer back up as a character worthy of having the HuMane 6 as her friends.

Planned to continue on to fill the gaps to the Friendship Games, but that is still TBD.

*** SIGNIFICANT RE-WRITE: Yes, I completely removed the first Arc of the story and integrated parts of it into the second. This has, in my opinion, significantly improved the focus of the tale and creates a more complete story. I apologize for making such a drastic change, but as I continued to edit and re-edit it, I kept coming back to the idea that the first Arc simply wasn't contributing anything exciting to the story.

2 weeks have passed since Camp Everfree has ended, signalling the start of the Fall semester of CHS. And Sunset could not be more excited.

A new year, new powers and even another chance at the Fall Formal was everything she could have hoped for! However, on her first day back at school, she soon realizes the magic they wield might be more than they can handle. And if Sunset doesn't find a way to control her powers; her life, and the friendships she's forged, could shatter right in front of her eyes.
