Livestream now? · 7:29pm

So, I finally made the switch to Twitch. I'm still trying to figure out the program and such, but I thought maybe later this evening I'd give it a shot and play some Left 4 Dead or Black Mesa. If you're at all interested, I'll throw the link here. https://www.twitch.tv/robcakeran53 And I will update the blog post when I think I'll be getting online. Shooting for around 7 or 8 eastern.

Edit: So, I'm actually streaming right now, testing things and doing some writing. If you're bored and just wanna sit in and listen to some music, feel free. Games will start eventually.

26 and a MASH fan, I must say that's not something I expect to see, and it's quite refreshing. I'm going to be 38 next month, and though the show went off the air when I was four, it was essentially still "new" enough to be all over the place on syndication for several years after. DVD wasn't a thing back then of course, so I recorded as many episodes as I could onto blank VHS tapes and would stay up all night running marathons of it. I still have my "big book of MASH" book that has a synopsis of every single episode in order.

Alas, I don't get much of a chance to watch it anymore, thus I'm sure your lore is sharper than mine by now. I can say, however, that I have quite a kinship with the show as well, and often find myself quoting it even around folks who have no idea what I'm talking about. I still tell people that one of the reasons I put my heart into writing over other art forms I've tried is that when it comes to music or drawing, "I can play the notes, but I cannot make the music."

I recall being so into it in my youth that I had a phase where I was collecting olive drab fatigue shirts and playing around with rank and branch of service badges. I was asked once if I was in scouting. Nope! MASH!

I'll look you up on Discord. Again, nice to meet another fan.

>>2413072 I have been a fan of M*A*S*H since I saw it, oh gosh, I was younger than 10. I'm just going on 26 now. I can recall almost every episode by a glance of the television screen. The show in general has been a huge part of my life, helping me at times. A winter tradition of mine, is I sit down for several weeks and binge the entire series on my DVD box set. For me, personally, the only other show that has ever come close to the quality and lessons that M*A*S*H gave us was Andy Griffith, which is another show I adore (also arguably Golden Girls, but then I could provide quite the list and we'd be here all day).

Point is, I don't care if people read my stories or not, so meh on that. However, you do have my interests when you have a fic inspired by probably one of the best Winchester moments, if not a close second to the actual episode  "The Life You Save", which I'll be damned if I'm having a brain fart and forgetting another semi- Charles- centric episode. I know Charles isn't the focus in the episode you wrote about, but that's just another thing I liked about it. The episode itself was a treat, but I'll talk about that when I read your fic, which I will be eagerly reading, because anything inspired by M*A*S*H is always a treat.

And hello to you too! It's rare to find people who appreciate, or even know of M*A*S*H here on Fimfic, and I'm glad you bugged me about it. Feel free to add me on Discord, I have my info somewhere on my page.

....you have a Sidney Freedman quote.

You know, I admit I've never read any of your stories, until a friend in my fimfic Discord group linked me to one. But the first thing I saw was....holy crap he has a Sidney Freedman quote!

Unfortunately, I could not look at it for very long, because I only sit for two minutes a day. The rest of the time, I am explaining to people that if it weren't for war, they wouldn't know what peace was!

Not expecting you to look at this, but I wrote it in homage of the episode "Death Takes a Holiday". I thought it perhaps apropos to at least share.

(I would like to further point out that for the longest time, my avatar quote was 'If you ain't where you are, you're noplace'. I still take those words to heart, uttered by our own Col. Sherman T. Potter.)

Anyway, hello
