Oh, the weather outside is frightful—but Rainbow Blitz is out in it. And at two in the foundering morning, no less.
Blitz wants to do something special for his first Hearth's Warming with his fiancee, Applejack. She works so hard to keep the farm running, and she deserves a break for once. Problem is, Blitz isn’t much of a farmer himself.
That’s not gonna stop him from giving it his all, though.

Super cute. I can see myself reading this again, and that means it's quality haha. Also R63 RD is adorable. Great pairing, and great to see something straight in this sea of F/F that infests inhabits the site. I just usually don't find it very interesting, for multiple reasons.
Cutting between the past and present really makes the story more powerful.

Thanks! Sorry for not sendi g this your way--I was thinking of expanding it after Jinglemas was over, and THAT version is the one I would have wanted help on. However, there was a change in Jinglemas plans--and I think I'm going to just let this one stand, at least for now.
Sweet little story. Although in canon Equestria cows can talk, and would probably snark at Rainbow over his incompetence.

In all seriousness--I was thinking of turning all the "exposition dump" sequences into actual scenes (e.g., Blitz kidnapping Barb as she gets off the train, and then frantically begging for her help). I'm also thinking of adding an Applejack subplot, where she tries to do give Blitz a similar sort of gift--but I'd need to figure out how to fit it in.
In either case, work and school are making it hard for be to get back into writing, so if this expanded edition ever sees the light of day, it will probably be for next Hearth's Warming.

Actually... any ideas for a subplot from Applejack's perspective? I kinda like the idea of the two of them trying to find the perfect gift for each other, "Gift of the Magi" style--but without the plot twist, of course.
Hah! This was a great mix of funny and heartwarming, with quality Appledash to boot. I like your Blitz; he's a very plausible guy version of Dash.
