When the guards find a foal crying in the city streets, they bring him to Celestia's attention. Soon after, It becomes apparent he has fallen through every crack in Equestria's society. Feeling she has failed the colt, Celestia takes him into her own home.

Scootaloo isn't a bad filly, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy know that better than anyone. But when Scootaloo starts acting up in school, they find themselves wondering what could possibly be causing their adopted daughter to misbehave.

When Scootaloo's behavior continues to get worse, the young couple turn to the help of their friend Twilight, in the hopes of pinning down the problem.

As it turns out, Twilight has a solution. But it's one that will change the life of Scootaloo forever.

In the body of a changeling, and with help from the Knights of Harmony, she must come to terms with her new identity as well as this strange world so similar, yet very different, from her own.

After all, there may not be a way back.

Twilight is looking forward to unwinding after a long day at the library. The bath is filled, the candle is lit, and her favorite book is waiting on the tub-side table.
Just as she slips into the hot water, she wonders why she hadn't seen Fluttershy all day...
