Three hundred years after Luna's banishment, Equestria is at a shaky peace, its borders protected by the Equestrian Armed Forces from several hostile races, from raiding Diamond Dogs to the increasingly aggressive Gryphons. Coppermane, an introverted & insecure student of Princess Celestia, is asked by his teacher to perform at the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville after hearing him sing. He's been bullied for most of his life, and is scared of being in a new town. New faces to hate him, right? That is, until he meets a familiar cast of ponies who will prove his assumptions wrong. And among this familiar cast is the most beautiful mare Coppermane has ever seen in his life.

His name is Boltsinger. He always saw himself as a relatively normal pony. Save for one strange fact. Ever since he got his Cutie Mark, his wings have been taking him places without his say-so. Everywhere he goes, somepony needs his help, and he's just the stallion for the job. Something was off about his next destination though. Crashing into a wall at the castle in Canterlot apparently gets the attention of important ponies, and that leads to some... interesting questions.
