I realize I’ve come to count on these releases to break up my otherwise repetitive and boring days. Every Monday and Thursday (usually) I have something to look forward to,
Huh, that was a lucky page refresh. But now I'm all caught up again, which is sad.
Ok, maybe it was asked before, but why Cure hide his discovery about that meditative magic boost? And MoD/CM focus buff? This is immediately usable, pretty safe and can change the whole country like yesterday!
Cure's antics always give me a smile & a laugh. I'm eager to see how that proposal turns out.
Say, do you have any plans for having Cure during the Mane 6's saga of Equestrian history? I'm actually hoping to read your series for a long time. It's as enjoyable as a Sherlock Holmes book.
Did I mentioned already that a fried unicorn horn is like eating a years worth of vitamins?
A horn of plenty made me think of this.
Bleguh I hate mint.
I think these ideas for the defense of the city deserve a POV of Princess Celestia
I really like the character dynamics here. Lovely writing all around.
That was probably the most entertaining 11,000 word lunch I've ever read. Compliments to the chef.
Well, I guess we're not gonna see that doctor's reaction to Cures mods on himself.
That infrastructure would probably be useful eventually, but I'm wondering if it'll be useful during the events of this story.

Heck, if you gave that kind of crystal to every nation, you could make waging war relatively impossible.
awesome chapter
and the gag's
the talk with haze about the guard, just imagine years later at cadence's wedding "we should have lissen'd to cure back then"
I was expecting a fight in a run-down restaurant, Good chapter though
Awesome chapter! I laughed hard at the meal bits
Gotta say, this story has turned out to be wonderfully entertaining and is a highlight of the day when it updates.
LOL
Cure might inadvertently make Equestria a Crystal Nuclear nation at this rate. Enchanters will be the backbone job so fast the whiplash will probably snap anyone's necks
Awesome! I'm loving how cure's doing his best to protect and enhance the security. If he wasn't so busy with his everything, he could be a stage magician. The rose petal reminded me of RWBY, will he zip around leaving a trail of rose petals everywhere? I'm absolutely loving this.
I found this song the other day and it fits Cure if he were to turn evil.

Hopefully we make it that far! I do have ideas if so.

Originally he was afraid of the princess either limiting his freedom or, in the most extreme scenario, straight up killing him. He didn't know what version of Celestia he would find here, keep in mind.
The fear of nobles grabbing him got heaped on after he told his parents he could influence foal gender and possibly tribe.
His paranoia got a booster shot when he realized he could copy & paste non-metaphysical abilities.
He still thinks she's actively suppressing some knowledge and he's not sure why, but he's afraid of displaying what he knows because it could cause him or his family to be targeted.
If you look over the chapter titled Authority and, I think, the one before it he and his family had three routes they discussed. The last 25 or so chapters have largely been him implementing the chosen plan. A few things have gone unexpectedly well, most of which I did not plan for, but I basically felt would fit more in the setting than those events not happening under the circumstances.
The perfect example being him giving Drift that design. I thought, "yeah, kid brains love showing off. He would totally do that."
Then I thought, "ponies tend to be excitable and quite happy to jump on the band wagon" and did the whole pegasi surrounding his house scene.
I knew I made the right choice when nobody complained saying "that wouldn't happen!"

I don't plan on ever doing other POVs, probably. You'll typically know what Cure knows. He'll at least be present in every scene I have considered.

Equestria is already a superpower, relatively speaking, far beyond any nation that's ever existed on Earth. They control the sun! Even without Celestia a group of unicorns can literally hold the entire planet hostage.
I'm glad everyone liked this chapter. Having so many characters in a scene is very challenging without completely sidelining some. I'm glad to see I at least did a decent job. Thanks, folks!

(To author; No need to take this seriously. I was bored at work. I still used logic.)
Wait, don't those group of unicorns burn out their magic every time the do a full day & night cycle? And what about the math for how many unicorns they'd need to keep control of the sun & moon? Wouldn't they burn out the magic of every capable unicorn? Also, it's been shown that ponies aren't all that powerful so far with a few exceptions, like Cure. Then there's the fact ponies couldn't have been in control of the sun & moon always, their species is too young for that. Honestly, I have the sneaking suspicion you've got something up your sleeve to properly adress this later on. That is if it even comes up in the story. I'm more surprised the subject of Equestria as some major super power even got brought up. It's already been stated Celestia can drop the sun like a beach ball.
Thanks for the update!
I pity any would be invaders after Cure is satisfied with equestria’s military equipment and physical performance.

Honestly a point of view from Celestia would be great to see in general.
I applaud the author's idea to not do other POVs. This entire story has been from Cure's perspective and suddenly being able to see the story with another character's thoughts would be spoiling the story.
Cure has all these "whimsical" ideas, but he doesn't know how they are going to be taken.
The entire first arc of this
storynovel was wondering if Cure would be found out and be penalized. If we knew the princess's POV during that time, there would be no suspense. So, keep on doing what you do.Cure seems to want to load everyone and everything up with "defense" of some kind or other. And now he's suggested a nationwide defense shield crystal initiative. I hope we get to find out why he feels he needs to keep everyone safe. Or why does he perceive so many threats. The country was running just fine for more than 100 years before he got there. If the cartoon is right, there's still 91 more years of peace to go. Perhaps lingering thoughts from Ed?
The head removal scene was hilarious.
And his own mom yelling at him to "do it!" I nearly spit my drink out. In fact a little did come out.
Thinking logically, if he did remove his head, how would his brain send commands to his forelegs to put his head back on?
11483781
Look back at the the scene where he explained what was in the backup system in 44. He was unusually brief with the description, no?
Cure at one point told his parents this should be a time of peace but the influence of Ed's memories and the insanely low buy in and maintenance cost make it a no-brainer. If he had the money he'd probably have that system for his house. In fact, he'll discuss his plans for the next house's defenses in 49.
11483546
This was discussed earlier in the story. I tried to find if the burnout thing is canon and, as best I can tell, it isn't. It seems less logical to me to have a ritual that needs run twice a day burn ponies out. Why not refine the ritual for more ponies to join in so that doesn't happen? Seems much more reasonable that cripping your, presumably, strongest and therefore most needed casters. Of course Cure did note that it does appear possible to fry a horn in group casting where one pony is directing the magic while others supply it. I don't think you would want to be nearby when that catastrophic failure occurs.
11483349
Maybe not useful in 10 years but like compound interest on your savings, 50 years from now... 100? Equestria will be a far harder nut to crack if and when those future disasters roll around. This is assuming the nobles actually go with the idea of fortifying city defenses and such, or just veto the idea and leave it for the next generation to worry about (hmm, kinda like our governments).

Second this even as a small chapter showing the waves cure is makingin the court.
11484170
I totally agree

Although it would be fun to see, any scene from Celestia's POV would almost have to reveal too much about her personality. It would destroy the lurking specter holding the sword of Damocles somewhere above Cure in a readers mind. Granted, her visit with Cure has already greatly diminished that tension already, but there is still the mystery of what next thing will be the tipping point for Celestia.
Something along the lines of a newspaper article about the buzz going on in Canterlot might be interesting without giving too much away though. By this point and especially after the birthing season, rumors of something interesting going on would probably be circulating among the nobles. I can't think of too many things that would attract the interest of the noble class more than Cure's deaging treatment even as limited as it is. Showing up to court looking 20 or 30 years younger would draw attention among their peers like nothing else outside of an emergency situation. Even just Celestia's visit to a smallish town would draw some eyes. Even if most of the nobles are the useless fops generally imagined there have to be some that are very good at putting details together or they wouldn't remain a powerful faction for very long.
I imagine by the time Cure and friends show up at the castle for the Wonderbolt's show some of them are going to be paying attention. Given his recent trip to Canterlot, along with his growth spurt and all, it would be kind of funny if they all assumed it was Deed and not Cure that was the pony of particular interest when the gang shows up. Rumors of Deed's little "date" with Celestia courtesy of the other families listening into bits of the conversation between the privacy crystal maybe? I can picture Cure laughing his ass off hearing a nosy noble or servant pester his father about that.
This is a great story, I love all the detail you put in to the magic and world building. Looking forward to seeing what happens next and if any pony else have human memories.
Keep up the good work.
I’ve caught up…yay!
Heh... just imagining the villains that will pop up in a century and the interaction with cure.
Nightmare moon: knocks her out or just straight up purges the nightmare himself
Discord: probably either avoids, becomes fast friends with, or just straight up obliterates.
Chrysalis: terrifies the everything shit out of.
Sombra: deletes the tyrant.
Tirek: gives him a bad case of SDS (sudden death syndrome) and problem solved.
If you listen closely, you can hear Vines sighing "Every meal...."
Aww I was hoping to see some kinda meeting between Cure and the pony who scanned him after he passed out helping with the birthing but I guess she would have already had her mind blown by his biology off screen when she first scanned him so it may not have added much
11487135
And sometimes the snacks in between.
Cure's small yet growing armory makes me think of this: https://www.youtube.com/clip/Ugkxk80LpRI735FfbRA-6rxs_B1LGNavL3-R
but with crystals and bioweapons.
Prevaricating.
I'm surprised that he didn't offer shock training to the soldiers like he did with Solar, where he scared them and distracted them in the firing range. he could take the soldiers to the forest and take the hell out of them using biomancy, playing slender, chenomorph and just changing the face to something at the level of the "weird curve" (something similar to human (or pony in this case) but with changes that cause discomfort and extreme fear, as when he sharpened his teeth and extended his jaw to scare his parents. The "curve" is well used in the 'mandela catalog' (horror video)). Either they would go from there to an insane asylum or they wouldn't feel scared even if the chrysalis itself appeared in front of them.

Very neat
Bull. I don’t care how good your magically enhanced immune system is, you WILL catch something in boot camp no matter how clean you are, how much you clean the compartment, and no matter how sanitary the rest of your platoon is.
After Haze sends his requisition up the chain of command, the national stock market suddenly takes a tremendous hit when HooforCorps' Majiteq Weapons Division loses the military supply contract to an apprentice medical student who underbids them by a thousand times over and is able to supply systems in sufficient numbers and far superior in capacity to anything in their R&D planning stage.
Even Celestia will be stunned by what Cure is able to achieve....
Celestia: "He did whaaaat!? "
Soon enough he's going to need a "welcome to the Cure Circle of Friends in by Know" packet. Though the floored reason ponies get while discovering things is entertaining.
