How about this: pony internet will be called shelfnet

Everything about this reveal was magnificent. Their reactions were as convincing as should be the case for adults confronted with this. I’m so used to authors botching this, or simply not revealing at all, that it was actually cathartic to see it done so well. And done with love. In fact this is the best take on an offworlder revealing himself I’ve seen that did it this early and in such a direct way. Now that I’ve confirmed it can be handled this smartly I’ll never tolerate reading Anonymous’ pratfalling bullshit again.

Wow! Thanks! That's some high praise indeed.
I'm kinda right there with ya. Given that Cure has been in that "parent getting bad news" role I couldn't come up with any way he would not be telling his parents at some point. It would be different if the family was unsupportive or untrustworthy. The average pony family? I just don't see that being a huge issue. I get why a lot of inserts don't tell anyone, though. It makes it easier to focus on the MC and writing a lot of interpersonal relationship stuff probably isn't the reason a lot of folks start writing. As far as I'm concerned that's a key element, at least in this phase of Cure's life.
Also, I realize some folks have pointed out that they accepted it pretty quick and I agree, but there's a reason. I don't think everyone is considering it from the PoV of magical fantasy creatures that live in a world where the impossible (to us) is just a typical daily thing. Their princess rotates the sun and moon around their planet. A godlike being almost wiped out their civilization. Those are just the big examples. I see their reaction being basically "Got memories maybe-from a past life? That's a new one but I've heard of weirder things. Oh you've seen a possible future? Yeah, I've heard of fortune tellers too, no big whoop."
The beauty of this is that there's nothing about it that requires a human technological base to implement. Magic scrying mirrors are a thing. So imagine an enclosed library where every book is enchanted to be receptive to scrying. And then hand-sized mirrors are enchanted to interact with the library enchantments such that you can remotely scry any page of any individual book.
Setting it up would probably not be any more difficult than setting up the internet. Perhaps less so, since underground cables wouldn't be needed.
I had been wondering what a "dam" was in this context for a while now. Google brings up: female parent of an animal, especially horses.
The more I seem to learn of our english on this site than anywhere else
Awwwwwwww
awsome story i love the father son interaction xD

Well.... I half agree with you. Cure is deffinetly glossing over some of more brutal aspects, but he's not technically wrong.
See in western civilisation, for something like a cow, they'd use a device to quickly cause massive brain damage before cutting the throat and hanging it up to let the heart pump most of the blood out. Sounds really bad, but thanks to the brain damage that was caused at the start the cow can't even comprehend pain, so while it may be somewhat brutal sounding, technically the cow didn't suffer. Can't say the same for the halal meat process, which is the exact same except without the brain damage. I know if I was gonna die I'd wanna be so out it I couldn't comprehend the pain.
Love this story so far. Cure is obviously heavily sanitizing his descriptions of earth and the more brutal stuff, but everything so far is very well thought out. Also I love how descriptive you are. The wordsmithing in this is fantastic
Lots of exposition, potentially big set up here for some potentially big things.
Fingershooves? crossed.I’m imagining the spit take of a griffon overhearing an 8 year old pony saying that in a bright, foalish voice, and it is Epic.

YYYYEEEP!
😁
Maybe he just doesn't know but Ponies are Horses, just below a certain height. So yes, he did snack on Pony when he ate that assuredly overcooked Horse meat burger.
Should be can't or couldn't here.

All ponies are horses, but not all horses are ponies.
*Be fed materials and used to crank out
As it is now the sentence implies that the machine can be trained instead of the operator.

Definitely. The protagonist, unfortunately, doesn't know anything about how animals are treated in truth. It's also not all that difficult not to eat animal products for most people.
However, to be entirely fair, his understanding of the human world doesn't have any more misconceptions than the average human. Though, he also completely glossed over the nastiness humans do to each other.

Please teach me the ways of vegetarian/veganism
There are two reasons and two reasons only i eat meat:
1. it tastes fucken g o o d
2. necessary nutrients i have no idea how to get elsewhere
I don't like the idea of killing something if i don't have to and even when i have to i don't fucken like it.
finally a story that saw this. I always thought those stories where the mc is born, already talking, walking, doing all the shit and not having any change occurring from a new body hormones and even brain. Point for this story.

And then this russian guy(but hates his nation) comes full of hatred for those, who does not share his opinion ... and begins to teach others the right way of life))). Go ahead and write your stories about lgbtq/siucides and whining)
Doing a reread 'cus why not?
HAH! Ed obviously never looked into the American meat industry. The poultry industry alone would make him vomit. Honestly, it makes me sick thinking about it sometimes. And I love meat!
Cure is fortunate to have one of the most understandable parents I ever read on FIM.

Which the pegsai will steal and put it up in Cloudsdale and create Skynet....
...uhoh...
:)
Very neat chapter.
A stallion of culture, I see.
😭 yo...
Also, why do they always go for the Internet? 😂 The moon landing is much more relatable and realistic to pony mentality.
11816479
I believe that's because it's the most alien/relatable piece of tech. It's so advanced that there is no real way to explain how it works unless your specialized into it.
11816991
Which is ironic considering nearly nobody that does the explaining is indeed specialized enough so they have to dumb it down from their own level anyways. 😅
But we understand what you're saying, there's only so much fantastical you can get before it's deemed impossible, and the Internet is plausible enough to get away with.
