That ending was perfect, I can't wait to see how Cure meets Celestia in canterlot with his Alicorn suit.
An alicorn Gundam, now that's most certainly something I have never seen in any story I've read. Also, I love the banter in the family and reflecting on how their son I mentally over fifty years old. Every chapter is something unique, that's just something that has to be said.
But why though? What does this let him do that his plants can't? This just seems to add more risks that others will find out about all the crazy things he can do.
For all that he says he wants to stay hidden, his actions so far have very much said otherwise.
Loving the story so far! Like the world building and the descriptions a lot.
So now Cure has a Meat-Mech. Or a Guyver suit. Or he is close to going full blown Attack on Titan....
This brings in some moral questions as well. As mentioned in the author note he wont add a brain. But what if he did? Cure is an 8 year old male that can essentially asexually reproduce. Also considering he made the suit female now the question is raised; could cure make himself female? I would not be surprised if many years down the line cure exists as an amorphous biomass that takes on whatever shape is coinvent at a time.
when he starts scanning the ocean I wonder if he will make a sea-urchin construct with unicorn horns instead of spines?
This leads to another train of thought...what if he whole-cloth made a perfect copy of himself but kept in an induced coma as a "backup". Updating it once in awhile as needed. There have been plenty of D&D references with the magic in this so what not go full blown Manshoon at some point?
Biomancy/Biopunk has near limitless potential once you start getting creative with the application.
Before he described them I could already tell what he was talking about, loved playing with those when I was a kid.
And those pranks on Vines and Deed, a million times more hilarious than the swapped foal prank he pulled on Dawn and Solar lmao
"Dam! Where's my alicorn suit?!"
holy shit, cure what are you doing
Thanks for the update!
I the reader can't breathe laughing too hard
I really want Cure to find some gigantic horrifying Charybdis style sea monsters, I feel that would be a fun one as he's functionally unstoppable RN.

God dammit. You said it before me, I just laughed when he made his "meat-suit"

See, a lot of readers have speculated that he may be X or Y character's great, great grandsire. The fact is... they're right. Cure Wave is, without a doubt, where Rarity gets her entrepreneurial spirit from. Both start their own business at an early age, they're very dedicated to their younger sisters, pioneers of the fashion industry, and very generous with their friends. Cure just happens to use more organic materials in his clothing designs (probably the result of being an earth pony), and leans more heavily towards the 'practical' whereas Rarity's designs are more fanciful.
Nah, in all seriousness, he really is just dying to get new scans. He made crazy plans for the zoo too, remember? They just ended up being unnecessary. He really is trying to do this without implicating himself. That's why so much of the chapter is about how to do this without it linking back to him while also not compromising his morals. After all, absolutely nothing is stopping him from flying over the ocean and doing the whole scan thing without the ship's permission, aside from maybe a very angry port authority.
Also, don't forget that the suit will also be his home defense system. He's a paranoid nut with the memories of a dude who lost almost his entire family over the last decade of his life and lives in a world where there very literally are god-tier threats that he knows of and who-knows-what that he doesn't. So yeah, Cure's basically the magic pony version of a doomsday prepper that already "lost" once.
One step from clones... If he learn how to create brains that have to obey his own, he would be able to create army. Star Wars Episode 2, here it comes ;)
Cure is now the Tony Stark of biology, he literally made a flesh suit.....
Lol good chapter
I'm with Vines & Title, was disappointed Deed didn't fall for it. Although the build-up was stupendous!
So is Cure gonna experiment with a few other shapes for the suit or go as a stallion pegacorn? I feel like he was thinking of trying some other stuff. Like a winged jackalope. Wings, horns, & disarming adorableness in one package. And the take off speed! Rabbits are good jumpers, combine with earth pony strength & pegasus aura, there's no take off just flight. 🐰
about the author's note - yes, in the absence of a functional merge, forking is a huge deal.
Why not be Falcor the Luck Dragon?

LFOD if you don’t reference this Imma be sooo disappointed :)

"Sister Tia!! I have returned from the store with the milk! I hope I haven't been gone too long?"
I feel like cure totally would pull this if it wouldn't absolutely break her heart and raise too many questions.
Man, a Meat Mech! Both horrifying and amazing.
Could he shrink just a small part of 'himself'? Like a little(big) materials pouch? Backup cartilage, bone, and fat? Enough mitochondria to regen enough mana to keep the spell up?
And since the spell shrunk the food to scale moving the material would be weird, but possible.
Cure could probably become something like a pando tree, (or one of those mangrove trees that I can't find a name for, that I've heard exist), that covers the whole world
Oh deer.
Yep.
It takes a special gift to pull off writing an entire chapter of someone eating a tree and still have it be entertaining.
He could probably use neck frills like that one raptor from Jurassic park.
Thanks for the chapter! ^v^ couldn't cure conceivably well, conceive with his suit? That's one way to help affect the population crisis and figure out if/when the foal and the dam are considered one and the same.
Longest chapter yet, but it didn't really feel like it.
Man, I could just read about cure doing inane (not insane though that could also work) shit for hours, you make this stuff just great to read.

Fully agree with you there. That ending was way to funny.
There are, naturally, solutions for Cure regarding the square cube law: Becoming, say, a living forest, solves the square cube issue by focussing on increasing surface area drastically without significantly increasing volume. This is probably what I’d do, have a kind of fungal network/forest I can physically connect to as an external body/battery, with a few backup plans included. I might even keep my brain there and control a body remotely, though it would take some innovation to work out how to run that without needing to maintain physical contact.
On the other hand, in terms of neurological signaling, the speed of synaptic transmission would be significant as an issue, but it can be overcome via:
-Optical signal transmission. Essentially, Cure could build biological fiberoptic cables to transmit light in order to increase signaling speed over long distances. This doesn’t, like, make thinking faster or anything, it just lets the signal travel through an arm to its target extremely quickly, allowing for faster fine motor control in long limbs.
-Secondary brains. Our spinal cord is capable of controlling our limbs in response to certain signals (i.e. touching a hot stove), enabling you to ‘exceed’ human reaction times by having a physically closer system pre-process information. In this way, Cure could pre-code limb responses to stimuli in order to increase his reaction time and responsiveness to pre-considered situations. The more complex the secondary brains, the more capable they may be in terms of decision-making; a sufficiently complex one may be capable of near-conscious thought. Or actual conscious thought, if he’s not careful.
-Magical direct control. Cure could, at high mana cost, effectively ‘force’ his body to respond in any desired way at the speed of magic by simply using his talent to directly create signals in the target locations in his body. I would assume magic operates at either light-speed or instantaneously, in which case scanning himself and making changes effectively allows him to have lightspeed or above physical responses once his mind registers what he wants to do.

Hey, who knows. Cure could potentially make a life sized plushie Luna, to give Celestia as a gift for her to keep in her room to help her hold out until the real Luna finally came back. After he decided to spill his guts and tell her everything.
It would especially be nice for Celestia to have on the nights when she got hit really hard by her sister's banishment, Celestia could just snuggle up next to it at night and maybe feel some small amount of comfort from it and it ease her aching heart just a bit.
11505949
Yeah, the one that scientist or lab worker decided to try and play fetch with like an idiot. Right before it spit that goop in his eyes and then ate him.
11505599
Dammit Dam, where is my Alicorn Suit?! 🤣
The most distressing part of this is the exponential nature of his growth. It took a foal sized biomass a few hours to inefficiently eat and integrate a tree sized biomass. Suppose he turned his chompers into a magically sharpened sawmill producing microscopic sawdust. Suppose every pound of spare biomass was used to expand the stomach into a giant vat of hydrochloric acid. You put something like that into a forest, and the forest is gone in 24 hours. Give this monstrosity a horn the size of a radio tower and it's got coverage for days and enough magic regeneration to match large towns. Plus it's capable of tactical thinking, has every biological adaptation possible, has magical super strength and gravity manipulation, knows combat magic with perfect recall, can possibly teleport... Yeah that's a thing to nuke from orbit.
To be fair, he already had superplague potential, and unlike this eldritch tide, Celestia couldn't just drop the sun on a pandemic to kill it, but something just seems worse about being able to turn yourself into a pink fleshy sapient grey goo and personally eat all life on the planet.
Wait a second... Was the Snooze, the original one, was it a biomancer?
Whatever. The only limiting factor I can think of is that if he's not going to mess with brains and do like, sentient octopus arms to offload the processing, he'll just have an aneurysm and die before he gets to his 5th tree.
Hypothetically, of course. Cure's just a cute little colt who wants to make everyone better. He would never... be exposed to any kind of mind altering magic that would turn him into a evil villain or thrall, which totally exists in this setting.
But really probably not cause this story has a slice of life tag.
The alicorn suit and the canonical existence of time spells does bring up the possibility that the first time he shows it off to Celestia he doesn't get a "Wow" but a "Mother? Where have you been?"...
Whoa.... dear.... that's gonna draw some attention if anyone sees it.... how is he gonna get it out of the house? It's kinda overt, obvious, eye catching... I mean... really hope nobody catches a scan of it, there are going to be so many questions... it's going to get hard for celestia to continue to convince ponies that he's not a threat if it gets out that he can do things like this. Although... celestia may be very Interested is seeing the adult male alicorn, just sayin'...
So how long is it gonna be before Cure realizes he could go full Aspen Clone Tree Colony and connect the roots of his creations underground to create a networked health system?
Oh those pranks at the end made me have to reread like half the lines I was laughing that hard. I knew shit was gonna go down when Title said "We need to make some plans for the morning, first.” Oh that studding licence bit killed me
----------------
Did they give you any clue as to how many trees they're going to eventually plant? (I think that works better)

*it's
Ha! When he goes to visit the boss lady with his plants he should pony loaf then use his TK field to emulate hover cat... but on the ceiling! IT WOULD BE FREAKING ADORABLE!!! Cure and his friends hover catting through the palace on the ceiling whilst very confused and bemused guards chat with them.

Thanks for the very interesting chapter! I loved the pranks Cure and Tittle pulled on the others. XD I didn't expect him to make the organic version of a Titan...With less cannibalism or AI involved. Although an organic BT AI would be interesting.
So Cure wants to go out healing creatures at sea for more scans right? Any way his dam would even let him?
This was a really weird chapter. That ending though!
Alicorn Adventure Time! get cure out there in public to really mess with everyone!
Cure Wave has ONE job.
One, single, absolutely mandatory job.
He needs to look down at Celestia and call her "My little pony" to her face.
11506544
I would absolutely love to see that, even if it's just an omake.
I wonder what Cure will name his alicorn suit… needs to have a cool name… Mi Amore Cure? Pegga Wave? Cornicure Asai?
You know the famous image of the black hole? We simulated a planet sized camera by spreading prominent observation hubs around the world, all pointed at the interstellar object.
If Cure decided to spread his biomass, attuned to magical power and or regeneration, around the planet, what can he do with that kind of magical power? Or would it equal an alicorn's? Aside from the potential "big brother is always watching" theme it also presents
“This hoof of mine glows with an awesome power. It’s burning touch tells me to heal you! Take this, my boops, my cuddles, and all of my ear scritches!”
Ok so I don't usually dream, or if I do I don’t remember them, but I just had 1 about Cure (in the suit) meeting Celestia, and I thought I'd share while I can (bare in mind it was a dream so details can be iffy):
~~~~~~~~~
Cure bursts into the throne room "Tia! I'm back!"
Everypony stares wide-eyed at the new arrival, with Celestia barely managing to squeak out "W-who are you?"
"What?! Don't you recognise me? It's me Gaia! You know, your older sister?"
The room goes so silent you could hear a fly fart.
"A-a yes, Gaia! So lovely to see you again! Please, follow me, we simply must catch up." Raising from the throne, Celestia goes behind it, likely to a door Cure can't see from this angle leading to a private area. Chuckling internally at how his prank is going, Cure goes to follow, but once he reaches just past the thone, he's met with pain.
*swing* *slice* *DECAPITATION!!!* (heard in Jack Black's voice)
Standing over 'Gaia's' seemingly dead body, levitating a bloody sword, Celestia monologues "I don't know who you were, but I only have 1 long lost sister, and you are not her." Staring at the pooling blood for a few seconds, she then turns her head to the guards and orders "You will take this corpse away in secret to dispose of and speak of this to no pony, am I clear?"
However, instead of getting the expected salute and "Yes Princess!", instead the guards were just staring at the body with bewilderment. Raising an eyebrow, Celestia looked down to figure out what they were staring at, when she noticed the blood had not only stopped, but was was actually reversing course back into the body. Then the body twitched.
Jumping back in shock, Celestia watched in horror as 'Gaia's' forelegs moved about, as if searching for something. They then touched the head, grabbed it and placed it back on the body's neck. After a few seconds Gaia's eyes shot open at the same time as starting a coughing fit. Everypony else was just frozen in shock as this once dead alicorn somehow revived from the dead.
After getting control over his breathing, Cure stood up and stared at Celestia saying "Well that was rude." Cure expected a few different responses, from literal begging of forgiveness, to declaring him a harmony-forsaken demon, but what he actually got never even crossed his mind.
"Wait, we can do that?" Before he could respond, Celestia grabbed her sword, and in 1 swift motion *swing* *slice* *DECAPITATION!!!* (heard in Jack Black's voice yet again). The difference this time was that she did it TO HERSELF!
Cure just stands there, staring at Celestia's decapitated body, wondering just how the fuck did his prank end up here, before facehoofing and getting to work.
*a few minutes later*
Celestia's eyes shot open and her body convulses in a coughing fit. After regaining control, she raised a hoof to her neck, searching for a wound or scar, and finding nothing but a small drop of blood. Staring at the small red smear on her hoof, she realises that she really did take her own head, yet here she is alive and whole. "We alicorns really can-"
"No, you can't!"
Looking over to the other voices' owner, she intellectually responded with "Huh?"
Gaia is sat there, head in hoofs while shaking her head back a forth. Then she drags her hoofs down her face, before locking eyes with Celestia "you can't survive DECAPITATION."
"But I just-"
"No, I just saved your life! Sweet harmony, this was just supposed to be a simple prank, how the fuck did it get this far?!"
Raising an eyebrow, Celestia responds "I don't quite follow."
"It’s me, Cure Wave."
"Huh?"
Gaia's eyes then roll back and her chest starts to squirm. After a few seconds, the front half of a furless Cure bursts through like an Alien chest burster. "BLAH!!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And thats how my dream ended. I added a few details to make it more enjoyable to read, like an actual name lol. I hope you enjoyed the strangeness that is my subconscious
*side note* this took like an hour to write (granted I'm on my phone), and the shear amount of mistakes I found proof reading was embarrassing, but it helped me understand and appreciate just how much effort goes into writing a half decent fanfiction, let alone 1 as good as this 1.
Good soup.
>Be Cure
>CM pressures to heal
>cant be everywhere - people sick and dying
>spread giant biomass vines for healing touch glo ally
>ppl still dying unable to reach vines in time
>build special long-range horn antennas that save and even reanimate recently deceased
>become paranoid, move brain to biomass
>make brain backups
>become the hivemind
>talk bio-telepathically to ppl through horn antennaes
>create bio-Matrix
>consume entire planet biosphere, become a Brethern moon
>send probes to space with horn antena markers to potentially livable planets
Make us whole, Isaac!

I suppose it speaks volumes how nonchalant Title was after the initial shock of Griffin-Termite-Cure devouring half a cord of wood. Then again, all of his parents should be somewhat inured to Cure's shenanigans by now. I guess storing the pseudo alicorn "corpse" in a box with a hammer and sign (Break glass in case of emergency) would be going too far?
Why yes, I always keep spare alicorns hidden around town in case of alicorn emergencies, Pinkie.
Wow! Me too! Aren't plushies the greatest?!
...
It's. It's a plushie, right?
