Always love seeing an update, the amount of sass just brightens my day!
Great as always.
👍
Having my theory on Cure being a Swiss army knife for his eventual partners kinks, and the frankness that he says it all to Tia, honestly made me die with laughter. Ieft my bedroom 5 minutes later and the family looked at me strangely....
Another great chapter.
Will the increasing smartass stuff Cure comes up with, I wonder just how much the ponies will compare him to Discord after the chimera gets loose?
Yessssssssssssssss!!!!
New chapter and that one penis joke has just made my day!!!!
WOO!!
Love this story :)
So happy for some more of Vines’, “every meal,” exclamation. Feels like normalcy for the family. I wonder how the siblings will develop and carry on the tradition.
I’m happy for Sonic and Violet Jewel! The guards at Carol seem quite nice, too.
The oceanic discoveries will be fascinating to delve into! I recall Cure considering a dish-shaped horn to extend his range for this. Did he give that a go?
The entrance exam will be very fun, I think!!
Thank you, author! Very enjoyable developments and discussions!!
Cure may be a god in health aspect, but surely he has to know about Sudden Death Syndrome?
It is a real spooky syndrome. Since humans can't find the cause of it, Cure wouldn't be able to identify it as easily, would he?
I really don't want Cure to have to go through this since had a philosophical haunt this chapter, but... what if someone close to him got that when he is physically too far to react in any meaningful way?
"makes him almost want to wretch" -- retch
"Then again, they did fail their task. Not only that, but somepony wrote ‘Coward’ all over the leader." -- I thought Cure Wave wrote "Fool" on all of them instead.
"Aftershocks"
Your titles that sound most momentous are used for normal slice of life chapters.
Meanwhile, the most momentous happening occurred in the chapter A Powerful Cream Pie.
With how much chaos Cure is causing, it wouldn't surprise me if Discord got an early release

Gah! This is the most annoying part of me not having a backlog built back up. Things I would normally catch on a later pass get through.
Transparent aluminum is a real thing.
Yeah, it is kind of weird how they've got a whole spectrum of anthros in FiM, isn't it?
1. Cartoon humans - Equestria Girls (non-canon parallel dimension, but still)
2. Bipedal anthros - Diamond dogs, Minotaurs, various species from the MLP Movie
3. Quadruped but still fully civilized - Ponies, zebras, griffins
4. Can speak but are somehow okay with just being domesticated animals - Cows, goats
5. Can't speak (in a way that we understand) but understand speech, can make gestures, use tools, etc - Bunnies, falcons, bears
How far down do we have to go to find something that isn't demonstrably intelligent? Fish? Worms? Fluttershy managed to talk to bees one time.

Uh, a window that doesn't let light through is called a "wall". You don't need glass to make one of those.
He could go out with the extra set half of the time and keep it natural the other half of the time. The rumor mill would be even more confused at the Schrödinger's weiner that's sometimes there and sometimes not.
Nice chapter. Long chapters like this one feel nice to read when you've got nothing interrupting :)
In the chapter with the minotaurs on the train you decided against writing coward in them and wrote fool instead.
Good chapter, kinda hoped to see the interaction with Sonic, cool updates.
According to Wikipedia, tin has the same crystal structure as diamond. So all you would need to do to mass produce high quality magic crystals is slowly cool a mold of molten tin to produce large crystals and transmute all the tin atoms into carbon. And also have knowledge about their crystal structures, I guess. It sounds like you can convert any bulk material into any pure atom of you can turn a mix of gasses like air into iron, hydrogen, or helium. So mass producing tin should be no trouble at all.Creating hard vacuum is super easy with transmutation: just convert all the gas particles into something solid and it'll just fall to the bottom, with no gas at all. Probably something like sulfur, so you'll know if there's a leak.
Creating explosives is trivialy easy... Including the nuclear kind. Transmute a pile of literally anything into pure plutonium and it will immediately explode. I'm now imagining pegasus bombers dropping tiny crystals set to transmute their surroundings into fissile material on impact, and I'm pretty scared.
And the basic light cantrip can apparently create coherent light of arbitrary wavelength. Probably polarized too, because that would be easier to make out of math. That opens up a whole lot of communications and information processing tech. Analog computing is really simple for them with vacuum and some mirrors. And converting digital to analog is as simple as setting up a light crystal. If runes can do digital computation, then making them smaller is a matter of developing photolythography, which coherent light also makes easier.
The only limiting factor for any of this is magic production, and Cure can produce vats of bacteria with magic mitochondria. Using that to charge things might be a bit more complicated than throwing an empty crystal in a vat and then fishing it out, it probably won't be too hard.
What I'm saying is that, with Cure going all out, ponies can be at say 90s tech level really, really fast. Like within a decade fast if Cure tells some rune carving, chemistry, and logistics ponies how to use their cutiemarks.
Oh wow that is a wall of text I'm sorry.

That’s on top of the fact he took a very basic light spell and effectively made it a <insert specific radiation type here> generator. The amount of commercial, medical, technological, and military applications that little addition to the spell alone creates are absolutely staggering.
And in the hooves of Princess Celestia, a weapon of mass destruction capable of vaporizing continents.
*joins Title and Tia in throes of laughter*
He also educates the masses.

The structure isn't all... actually alpha-tin, which got diamond-cubic structure, is... the most fragile metal. Which was reason of death for many people, because it achives that state at low temperatures , in result tin cans of food stockpiles were destroyed by cold.
Actions with unexpected consequences sheesh.

I remember reading some research somewhere that suggested Sudden Infant Death Syndrome may be suffocation caused by the infant's breathing depleting the oxygen around it's face. Their lungs are so small they do not move a large enough volume of air to prevent a 'pocket' of re-breathed air forming around their nose while asleep. Which is why the position a new born or infant is laid down to sleep in is so important so that air is free to move around and away from their face easier. It makes logical sense to me but I don't know if it was confirmed or not.
Although I imagine since Cure can scan non living bio-matter he would be able to work out a cause of death with decent accuracy in most cases. Might make an interesting detective story arc.
Feel like I gotta bring this up, at least before I finish reading further, how would a modulated beam magi-laser with a modulated power setting be MORE dangerous with LESS applicable use than the literal fire/plasma ray that Dawn was using... which btw has higher chance of causing trauma and maiming by setting ponies on fire... versus the beam that was demonstrated as literally punching through clean at the targeted area as well as be capable of wider coverage.. literally has mass application in Medical, Industrial, and Military industries! Moreso than a fire/plasma ray at the very least, which is clearly a marked combat spell sooo yeah..
They must have the dumb, that's all I can figure, they literally have the dumb.
Thanks for the chapter

I think the Spells that are taught have safety measures built in like the "fireballs" which may look super hot but are only hot enough to singe hair. While the spell Cure uses is changed so the light is focused on one point like a magnifying glass in the sun it does not have as many safety measures.
That's exactly what it means. As long I don't break any laws I should be able to say what ever I want. You can think about me then that I'm stupid or tell me that, but that as far as it should go. Loosing your job for something you say is illegal, at least here in Germany (and we don't even have freedom of speech meaning there are things I can say besides fighting words or incitement to commit a crime that will put me in jail) and judges have repeatedly found companies guilty if they did something like that.
If people had to fear repercussions for saying somethings others could possibly not like, freedom of speech would be dead.

Yep, basically what a sapphire is. Also, total pain to grow it optically clear in large amounts.
We may hit the 100 chapter mark in heart and hooves day
First of all, thank you for this beautiful chapter,
secondly, it's good to see that Cure has finally realized how granting immortality to others can have much deeper and more painful consequences,
thirdly how I love Cure and Celestia's interactions, whether in serious or fun moments, their chemistry is just unique and incredible,
fourth, I couldn't stop laughing when he started talking about having two sausages, God, that was perfect,
and fifth now that I noticed more carefully, not once was it Philomena, Celestia's phoenix mentioned, I wonder if a phoenix egg will be the test of healing like Twilight's will be a dragon, that would be interesting, and would explain why Fenix is a troll. hahahaha
11723490
My father: "What are you laughing at?"
I understand you
[sigh] I just hope Cure won't be a bad influence on the future alicorns.

Did not know that. So big crystals and then cool it down for a while? The problem is that the "phase change"(?) spreads out from nucleation points so it expands a bunch unevenly and the large crystal structure is lost. I'm guessing you wouldn't be able to just pack it back together. Though on the other hand, this would be an excellent transmutation precursor for amorphous diamond, which has the hardness of diamond without the fault lines. So also pretty useful!
The other material Wikipedia mentioned as having diamond's crystal structure was silicon, and it looks like that is the default so that's nice. Unfortunately, silicon melts at way higher temperatures than tin so the process needs to be much more involved. The way we make giant chunks of monocristalin silicon is apparently called the Czochralski method. It looks... doable for ponies, just about. A dedicated pyromancer mark from the guard could probably get things hot enough. A transmuter with a good knowledge of chemistry is definitely required, to make the stock silicon and vacuum and diamond and probably the vacuum chamber and crucible, but you'd also want, maybe a potter to get your materials in shape. Anyone with a horn could do the actual crystalization part of the process and you'd want a jeweler to turn it into something usable probably.
All in all that's a team of 4 or 5 specialized ponies, 2 with very rare specialties, and probably a few days of work to make a solid diamond crystal as big as your arm (maybe, depends on how steady the crystaler is). It's more than the 1 specialized pony with a wood fire and dirt pile I was thinking of before (which is still good enough for the amorphous stuff), but it still seems worth looking into.
great to get another update on Cure and his shenanigans, more so this time... "2nd snake" he knows how to create chaos, i think discord will love him
11724249
The problem is solved by semiconductor silicon production procedure, which also got same structure. And few others.Advantage of diamond in hardness among single-atom crystals is that is combination of atom size and structure makes it most cimpact and nearly uncompressible lattice (until you reach the point where atoms collapse).
But diamond isn't very stable chemically, thermally, mechanically... And there are mundane ways to crrate diamonds for technical purposes.
11724162
Another material called transparent aluminium is aluminum oxinitride(ALON -t.m.), which is produced in large amounts.
As as alumosilicate glass, which partially was phased out by Dacron (crystalline PET)
I love how visible all "moving cogs" are in Cure's life. Just the fact we don't gloss over things is lovely.
I couldn't help but laugh at how Cure casually creates vegan bacon off screen, then makes it and feeds it to his parents on screen like it's a totally normal thing.
I figure you're talking about anthro ponies, with hoves for feet, when having Cure ask about "bipedal ponies"? Cure does mention the mirror portal in chapter 9, as well as the unlikely accuracy of what is on the other side. I can't remember if Cure confirmed it with the princess or not.
I do wonder if the cashier interviewee is part of what will be SMILE? (Secret Monster Intelligence League of Equestria.) Or perhaps an equivalent of it.
I'm very excited to see how the school will react to Cure's admission. The potential for drama is enticing.
Is it though? Or like many things in the pony world, has it simply not been thought of because ponies don't think like a predators do?
One burning question I have from a previous chapters is how regular is Cure having nightmares? Was it only during the stressful coronation? Is it rare and was simply exacerbated by it, or is it a regular thing?
11724311
All I tried to say is that you can't punish people for stating their opinion. I never said you can't call them out or anything, just that you can't punish them via law or otherwise. The trend of people calling companies to fire XY because he said something they didn't like is very worrying. In Germany we had cases where politicians of the controversial AFD Party lost their bank account because people figured out which bank they use and the bank gave into social pressure and terminated their account. You can't punish people with opinions you don't like like that, because them freedom of speech is dead.
This quote out of context gives the wrong meaning. Someone has to risk being offensive in order to exercise unfiltered freedom of speech. Therefore, we must be willing to be offended in equal parts.
The termination of their jobs, though understandable given the pony culture, is immoral. The fact that Celestia mentions there "wasn’t a valid, documented reason for the dismissal [means] he was granted expedited unemployment benefits" is nice to hear.
I would like to think he could additionally make a legal case against the company for the potential breach of the right to protest. That said, that's a civil dispute that probably wouldn't add to the story. ...Now I'm thinking about how he might have to go in front of Celestia to plead his case of unjustified termination.
11724370
*Laughing in German*. If you fire someone for their believes, political or otherwise, you will have a nice lawsuit coming that you will loose.

I'm rather curious how long it will take Cure to catch up to the princesses in power given his talent and his constant magical use? It's a shame Luna still trails Celestia in power even in pre-banishment, though I also assume Luna would be more suitable to precise movements and pinpoint attacks over pure power.
