Great chapter! Loved the interactions with the sergeants and the bat-pony
Thanks for the double update!
Just got done with final exams this morning, seeing the double chap has made my day. Thank you very much!
I wonder if the guards'd trust him with his power more, or less, if they learned his origin and how he was a victim of disease.
The title thing reminded me of the sly cooper games from the PS2
Quite good. Can't wait for what's next!!
I look forward to when cure meets the princess in the future
I am just imagining when Princess Celestia gets his info and she spits out her tea.

I'm disappointed in Cure, that was a whole meal without breaking one of his parents minds. The streak is broken!
Cure's customer base just keeps expanding. One day all the creatures of the world will be wanting his services.
Glad to hear you're recovering well.
I wonder how Celestia will react when Cure's anti-body factories reach distribution stage and she inevitable learns of them? Somepony so old and experienced has to understand the concept of equal-opposites, after all. That will probably be the point that finally settles whether Cure was being paranoid or not.
Good instinct, Sarge!
You're doing really well Wordsmith! Every time I see "Life finds a way" get pushed to the top of my favourite list, I am filled with excitement. Especially right before I am about to sleep.
I still highly recommend you to start a patreon, kofi, or any subscription service of some kind! These are very high quality works and would hate to see your work gone unrewarded! Doesn't matter if you have any perks or not!
Back to story commentary:
Cure may be invincible to almost all physical trauma, but he sure isn't as mentally immune. Although... if he ever gets depressed or something, he could tinker with how his endorphins and what-not are producing to offset...
A real problem I see is how would Cure might deal with having a real impostor syndrome if he could potentially just manipulate how he feels in the future?

Aside from risk of tampering with brain chemistry, I would note that incineration is still going to beat most biology, especially if by surprise.
Also, while he can probably heal from most wounds, including decapitation, he has limited energy, probably can't use his talent if unconscious, and fire generally beats biology. So he really isn't immune, especially in a high fantasy world with, presumably, pyromancers.
Also a awesome chapter! I'm interested to see what the bat pony community looks like there
Really loving this story. The explanations of biology and subsequent magical biomancy research are fascinating, and I can't wait for more. Fully anticipating cure straight-up ascending at some point, intentionally or otherwise.
Grammar notes: When writing multi-paragraph dialogue by a single character, the end of one paragraph should have no quotes, while the beginning of the next still does. Example:
This helps differentiate between a single character speaking, and a change of characters. Both situations were present in this chapter multiple times, and while it can be inferred from context, it takes an extra second to process and can be slightly jarring. Also, when placing quotes within dialogue, it's common practice to nest single quotes (' ') instead of double quotes. E.G. "And then he said 'I turned myself into a pickle!' Funniest shit I've ever seen." Not sure if it's an actual rule, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

That is, if he's caught by surprise. With his enhanced senses, that'd be difficult, and there's no doubt he'll find ways to further improve his awareness if he feels threatened in the future. After that, he'd probably be able to use some sort of chitin shell or something to help protect him from heat if he has enough forewarning, then heal damage as it comes.
No, he's certainly not invincible, especially if he somehow manages to get on Celly's bad side, but in the words of the late great Dr. Beckett: "As long as [his] cells are properly nourished, I don't see [him] ever dying of aging the way we do. And [he'd] be bloody hard to kill." (Slightly paraphrased, of course.)
hm i cant help but wander what you have cooking there with cure getting more and more a need for snuggle's ^^
that comment from bulwark was funny xD the guard are no complete fools,
but i have a feeling the upper brass are all payed in noble brats.
once the report go's over celestia's desc she will spit out her tee all over it xD
I don't usually talk unless I'm really liking stories and let me say this: The story is really enjoyable, even more so than a lot of other stories I read. I look at the "Also Liked" part of the page when reading this and it's there with, Blurring Realities. In my personal opinion, is what's been keeping me tethered with Fimfiction.
And now you, it's gems like these that I'm glad to be part of this community. You did that, you are what I got to say: One hell of a writer!
Also no pressure...
So please, keep it up man, do well, keep healthy, and write to the conclusion. In the end, every story has an end. But there's always an option for a sequel!

I can see him messing with some parts of his brain, maybe trying to tweak it to get him with Eidetic Memory, and that just brings about a Rabbit Hole of unexpected consequences.
Him only doing that as he gets older in his pony body and how the memories with his time as a Human get fuzzier...
Fixing his problem with his identiy only to find problems with finding some not so wanted times as he was a human: struggles, arguements, unfortunate moments in beligerence, fights, with the law. All the works one can possibly find...
Just the dangers of the Human mind and just that of our World...
First off luckyfanisaac is that what the real song of that Minecraft creep-er song come's from? Second to the writer of the story ARE you sure they is change-ling in this time line ???? Because the way you write give's me clue's of were the fist changelings became real or "how they used to be ??" Before the change . Third What No jokes Cat at the bat pony ? Like how they look like Cat's with-out whisker or they have same looks of a cat head .... One last thing if you remember this in the future if your [ Cure / oc ] ever meets the Princess Celestia and "asked her why I am here." And give this "dumb old meaning to life joke" ever writer writes down can just (say 34) that's the meaning to life, No why did you call me here ! And to all of those who gets the joke I KNOW its (32) but i like (34) more HAHA hahahaha .
I just realized that Cute invented DLC before video games were invented. He literally is selling cosmetic upgrades, or "skins."
He is also selling pay-to-win upgrades to the guard. Of course, Cure has already admitted that he cheats as hard as he can, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I could see an older Cure Wave on that E! channel show Botched, fixing plastic surgery jobs gone horribly wrong. Tho it'd be a really short program since he can fix just about anything in five minutes. Hah!
The real problem with being good at his job, too good, is that the same thing will happen as it did with his cosmetic sideline; everypony will be clamoring for his services in all the guard units. Cure keeps taking on more and more work and at some point, it's gonna crash down on him.
it's strange to me that no one reacted to the fact that Cure just treated a male infertility in a situation where male attendance is low, I was definitely expecting some comment from Bulwark

It depends on the interpretation, really. He "healed" a disability that his talent indicated was a health issue. We all know he could flip the switch to "Male only" but he has not revealed that yet. Him healing a problem is not new news to anyone, but you are right. This will be noticed. The membrane thing is a bigger "wtf" because that's actually him adding something new that wasn't there before. He plays it off as being a thin layer of skin, but polarized lenses would not exist yet, so if anyone actually really looks to see how those work they'll probably be very interested.
11449156
HA! That's a good interpretation I hadn't considered. He really is charging for skins. Now if only he could find a way to do loot boxes...
11447783
Probably more because, as the lawyers observed, it was the trauma of what happened that caused his mark to be what it is.

I appreciate the thought, but I have no plans of ever asking for money at all. If something REALLY bizarre happens I can't anticipate then maybe, but for now, thanks but no.
The idea of manually adjusting your mood sounds like a horrible idea to me, like a slippery slope with a really bad end. We'll have to wait and see if something awful comes up that I could justifiably expect him to consider it, but for now I think that is something Cure would be really hesitant to do to anyone else, let alone himself.
Note - Thanks for catching the typos. I fixed them, but "Yessir" is intended to be one word. Thanks for reading & commenting, folks!

For the Loot Boxes: Scratchers! And they'll get something generic with him, or a very small chance like .00001%: IMMORTALITY!

Fantastic.
It's always good to strive to be described in combat as NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE.
Cure gave Sgt. Song a navy-blue hex pattern to cover her maroon wing membranes...
Maybe something a bit like this?

Methinks he kept his trap shut specifically for the report. Later in private he mentioned being low-key terrified so it might have been a placating maneuver to not draw his ire. 😅
I have a theory on why guns may not have taken off much in Equestria, at least in terms of Warframe. Because logically, guns on Earth have been around for hundreds and hundreds of years in one form or another, it's just until more (relatively) recent versions like flintlocks, they didn't work well or had issues of scale.
The thing with early firearms, up until the percussion cap was invented, was... They often don't fire in a moist environment. Rain or even high humidity can turn them into a very expensive staff. In a world where there are creatures that can literally control the weather, they'd be useless. Gotta face down 1000 griffons with guns? A dozen pegasi with storm clouds can effectively disarm them. At that point arrows just make more sense, honestly. They have a wider use case.
