What a chapter!!
Again,
what a CHAPTER!!!!!
Probably could have put a joke where an adult version of him shows up and goes. "Dude. Do it, the best idea I've ever had."
Why did you make the chapters so long?
Ah, he actually ascended. I was wondering if he'd go incognito forever, but this changes some things.
As for ratings hitting red, by this point, Cure is already so powerful that it doesn't matter he's an Alicorn officially now, the story isn't about that, it's about discovering Cures life and improving everybody else, Ascension doesn't really change this.
Really enjoyed the chapter here, hard to say what I liked most but I'll just pick the part that Alicorns are a completely different species as being the most interesting.
Personally, I always envisioned Alicorns as more a physical Concept or an energy being, limited only in form by their own perceptions, so this revelation is quite intriguing.
Yeah this is fair lol
Thanks for the update!
Well, I would say that was action packed, but it was mostly the same as always. Still, a lovely chapter with nice atmosphere and character. Keep up the good work, dear author!
Only Cure could ascend, terrify a city, and then pop right back to where he was all like "huh, that happened. What's fer lunch?" :P
Thanks for the chapter, I loved it, it was great!!!
dis good
thanks for the chapter
Honestly thought Cure would bring up having the shared power of a diarch rather than as a subordinate "grand Prince" to the "high Princess."
I think his ascension is reasonable. Harmony and magic bring displayed at the same time, boom. Very similar to Twilight’s. And so many crystals substituting for the material that Cadence and Twilight had promoting ascension seems fair. Except, the only thing that felt off was that his talent wasn’t super involved in this.
Yep, there it is. Shoulda just burnt them, my dude.
You brat, I’m trying to go to bed for work tomorrow. Now I have to summon more willpower than just turning off the pc.

Oi...if you don't like long chapters then don't complain and go read a children's story or somthing...everyone does story's different and this person just does long chapters because there is alot to cover before nm happens.
...besides we are lucky this story is good and long AND regular updates and no misspellings I can remember...so to me this is the perfect story for what it is.
The mad lad actually did it. Though the whole "never permanently dying" bit is legitimately awful, especially if you believe in an afterlife. All your friends, family, loves, will all be there, but you'll never get to see them there, forever bound to the mortal realm.

They are God's and demigods of a natural thing and I think cure just became harmony's champion by acending...so this all checks out because alicorns are physical representations of something and have attributes of the thing.
Also yea him just only then becoming one was a surprise to me to bud.
Well, that escalated quickly. Honestly didn't expect to see him ascend for at least another story arc or two. It's interesting that you leave it up to interpretation if he tapped into the magic of friendship; in the future, it might be possible for Cure and Celestia to split the elements and save Luna themselves.
(There's a lot we don't know about the elements - why they stopped working, if Celestia knew they would banish her sister the first time, if she knew they would be able to free Luna from Nightmare Moon when she escaped, why she thought Twilight would find the new bearers, and so on and so forth. A hundred years from now, a Celestia who has friends, family, children, people she knows will not be lost to the ravages of time, and also knows that Luna can be saved? I can very well see that person wielding the elements again.)
Now that he's a true alicorn, and was given permission to scan Celestia in depth, I'm curious as to how they differ biologically from normal ponies. I'd like to see Cure go in depth on the matter in the future.
Seeing Celestia get flustered over the conversation about foals was super cute. I think a relationship between them will work out pretty well a few decades down the line; both of them have more life experience and maturity than most ponies, but they also enjoy joking around when the situation isn't serious. Celestia also seems to enjoy having someone who's always looking at the long-term ramifications of his actions.
Thanks for the new chapter! Seeing a 20k word update always feels a bit like Christmas.
Man, this chapter was a real roller coaster of buildup, steep drops, twists, and a somewhat predictable yet perfectly executed end result. I love the way the interactions were written and I can't wait for Cure to get revenge for the pies and eventual crowning. Going to be hilarious to hear him constantly complain at being a prince around others who can't fathom why he'd complain!
Welp, that's the timeline well and truly crowbarred. Cure is now next in line for the throne behind (?) Luna after she returns, ahead of Twilight. At least we don't have to worry about [insert last season and mystery stuff before G5 here].
Also, the second in command of Equestria is gonna be a half-human paranoid cynic. Good luck, everypony!
Re: currency, if it's a gold-based system but there are high-denomination coins with (basically) the same mass as the single bit coins, how does that even work?! If you're minting coins with higher face values than their intrinsic value, it's just a fiat currency system with extra steps.
This story is one of my top 3 story's I really really really like 100,000% keep up the amazing job on the story
This feels like the splashing of toilet water upon the buttocks of omen.
So anyone else just imagine that there is a whole bit not just from tia but others thinking about big royal wedding some time in the future. I mean tia probably has hopeful plans for actually having a shot at kids later now though the question if she can wait until her sister or not to show up to plan to have some. At which point lulu most likely of wanting to join in.
Hmm she honestly might be able to wait that long as a goal to have kids along with her sister but that's if she doesn't have a baby crazy period between now and than given now its possible.
On to other news I so want to see the national and international reactions to the new prince much less how young the new one is. It just opens up so much chaos now and later. Though does raise how twi will be in the future if she will place him in same tier as she does tia and how cure will deal with rarity and want to join the consort that and with the biological changes cadance is going to rush him on joining in for kids. But I so just want to see the craziness from other pov just as much as from cure and others on dealing with this mess both soon and as it goes just for the about new royal and what goes on with them.
To be clear, physical respawn immortality still has several potential deficiencies . Cure Wave could probably lobotomize Celestia without killing her, for example.
Probably the best part (for me) is that time travel IS VERY MUCH POSSIBLE in this universe.
So, unlike what anyone else in the room thought, Cure very much was waiting for a future self to show up.
Imagine if future him showed up just to mess with people? Nothing bad had happened, but Cure’s been waiting 100+ years to prank his past self?
Basically the “Chad” meme.
>huge Alicorn appears from nowhere.
>trolls the ruler of Equestria.
>returns to future.
😳😳😳Chapter Name!😳😳😳

Why not? Good stories, that are long, are hard to find.
Loved the way you introduced Cure to Alicornhood, it was well thought out and well written
unlike my first instance of my OC lolso keep up the awesome work my good author! It would be funny if news got out that cure wave is an alicorn and the ones who tried to kidnap him turn themselves in or get turned in. Because rats will turn on each other when the stakes are high.
Not to break any scripts, but there is a few questions that I have :
1. What about Mi Amore Cadenza and her ascending as alicorn?
2. Will Cure explain to Celestia the oncoming "future"?
3. Theoretically - if Cure would scan Discord, what would happen?
4. Does Cure's new title will make him "God of Medicine" in the future?
5. How Cure would cope with inevitable death of his parents?
6. Can Cure help changelings enter the society of the world with the help of his power?
Those are the questions I had for the past 3 chapters. I hope at least some of them could be answered.
Great chapter with the new prince cure in the end, as always love the story and how celestia is made in it.
The early publishing just made my day, perfect pre-flight reading

1. I don't think anything would change with Cadenza, but she's also so far away it doesn't really matter at this point.
2. Probably not, most likely just hint at things to ease Celestia's mind. Basically give subtle reassurance.
3. Probably just get a lot of useless dna samples with "metaphysical bs" tacked onto everything he sees as well as a small label with a "printed by discord co." on the back of them. Or something else inane, I doubt he'd get anything useful.
4. Probably not that specifically, but his ascension ceremony and passing time would likely make him an authority on the subject. I doubt neither he or Celestia want to put "God" in any title.
5. I imagine he can keep anyone he wants alive so long as they too want to keep living, including his parents. I don't see any reason his parents can't live along with him until they just tire of life and say "this is it son, I leave the world in good hooves, I've seen all I want to."
6. I imagine he can alter their biology to not require love to live, but I don't know how he would feel about such a fundamental change, let alone the changelings themselves.
I know I'm not the author, but I think these answers would be accurate enough based on what we've seen.
Well, Cure can now come up with BS that he can see a future thanks to becoming an alicorn. Nobody would question his source of information this way.
Celestia, "How did you know my sister will return?!"
Cure, "I can see da future~"
XD

just a quick thing in relation to item #4. (edit, I'll theorize about the things that aren't directly story related, and just assessments of his abilities)
Considering that Cure's ability has resistances to living things that aren't him, and more resistance to things that have souls (read "people"), I imagine that those experiments he did surrounding the "how long can something be unattached, and still be me" will become pretty important.
If something with a soul "remembers" for three days (from the skin graft test), and he has memories from his previous life (maybe due to his soul: unverified), he might be able to bring back the dead, within three days of their passing.
We don't know all the specifics of the metaphysical elements, yet. It could even be a "they're with Harmony, now" thing and just as impossible for him, as it is for everyone else. But, if that three days is a measure of how long a soul "lingers" before passing on, he might really be the god of medicine.
We've already seen him make new life, with the fireflies and all that. Why not restart or resume the recently departed. For peats sake, we even know that magic capacity is non-physical. It could be like nothing happened.
5. If my theory about #4 holds any weight, he could resurrect them. But, even with his already displayed abilities, They'll likely only die, when they don't want to live anymore.
People don't die, because they're old. They die, because as they get older, some vital body system stops functioning well enough to keep them alive. Only thing I can imagine killing them, is something he can't morally agree to fixing. Like a brain tumor, or something. But, he's already expressed a willingness to try, during that conversation with the princess asking her opinion on it and the legal ruling for death by amnesia.
If #4's relation to the soul having memory comes into play, maybe a sudden shift in the brain can cause enough of a dissonance between the soul's "this is me" self recognition and the brain's "this is me"; to the point that it terminates connection and basically just kills them and makes a new person, like a newborn.
#6. Cure can almost definitely help the changelings. If the don't have the organs necessary to digest food and rely entirely on love for sustenance, he can give them the relevant organs. If they can't metabolize food into magic and need to absorb it, he can alter their mitochondria like he did the other tribes.
The real question, is how would he react to having to decide to change the future, or not. On one hand, no more problems, on the other they don't grow to the point that Thorax ascends after giving love willingly to Chrysalis.
Does he mess with the timeline to that extent, because it's better? Does he get to be the one to decide what's better?
Who knows. Maybe, that's when he comes into his own as a prince of Equestria, and realizes the absolute weight of the crown. That he's going to make decisions that permanently alter life. Make some situations better, while making other good in the world impossible as a result, and having to decide which to pick.
Two words:
Called it.
Awesome chapter, as always. However, I didn't find this until late in the evening, and now must blame you for keeping me up until 2 in the morning on a school night. It would be okay, since class isn't until 1300, but I'm currently out of town and thus need to drive back. How dare you release such quality content at such a time as to be inconvenient specifically to me?! Outrageous!
I also find it kinda funny that this came out the same day that I saw the northern lights for the first time in my life. Cure Wave's assension be so dramatic it spilled over into our reality.
Dont like that the mark changed, though. I hope there's a good reason for it, because that seems a bit odd and doesn't quite match up to canon.
"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
im not shure if i should ore at his ascention
what a chapter but somhow it had to happen right.
just wait until the girls hear about all this they are going to faint xD

oh shit
Faking it to making it in less than 48 hours. That’s fast, even for you, Cure.
I’m a little surprised Celestia didn’t sweeten the pot by pointing out that The Crown doesn’t pay taxes to itself, because that would just be silly wasted paperwork.
11565729
Star Swirl’s spell only goes a week, and Starlight’s is unstable enough to risk ending the universe, so without an in between variant, it’s unlikely to happen.
Adult Cure showing up and kissing Celestia would have been funny. Talking about how much he’s missed her might just be the prank of the century, too.
Future Celestia, finally seeing the time travel spell spit him back out: “Really? You just meant you missed me for the two seconds you were away? I thought for a hundred years that you meant I had died somehow!!!”
Dose cure have a new cutie mark if yes can u show a pix of it plzzz and how he looks
That escalated pretty quickly: ) I didn't expected it all that soon : )
Ah, title makes sense now. Have you ever experienced a cream-pie so powerful you ascended to the astral plane?
Sad that the magical items were lost. I’m sure he’ll get another staff though, this one forged by hoof.
Wonder how this will change things? With him getting the changes out, AJ could end up male, or we could end up with Dusk or Blitz. Ha, the Harem of Harmony will be a thing! Dusk going to a small town that hasn’t been fully shifted over to proper gender ratios. Because even immortals get distracted… actually I feel like they’re more likely to be distracted.
Thanks for the chapter! I can confirm I did not see that coming. Ascension? Way outa left field. Not that I'm complaining.

The chapters are long because we the reader want them to be (and author as well. He gets final say). It allows us to gain a lot of information to think about until the next upload, and what? You want the chapters to be less than a thousand words long or something?
11565939
There's another series on here (also happens to be a well-written "human accidentally into Equestria, then later accidentally into an alicorn" funnily enough) that does roughly 1000-word updates daily for each story, with months-long gaps as the author preps the next volume. It gets about the same level of audience interaction in the comments. Both styles can work, as long as the audience knows what to expect, and it matches the author's style. This story's extra-long chapters are great, and so is getting the one or two scenes every morning in the other series.

That's an interesting point. If Twilight doesn't become the ruler she probably doesn't nuke all magic and G5 never happens.
