Everypony knows that a thousand years ago, Princess Luna was cursed into becoming Nightmare Moon. As a result, Princess Celestia reluctantly banished her younger sibling to the moon to safeguard Equestria. What no one knows, not even Celestia herself, is that Luna didn't get sent to the moon as intended. Instead she spent a thousand years on a far distant planet, unintentionally becoming an influence on that world's history. She yearns to return home but all she can do is wait. Wait, and the stars will set her free.

Mark Wells was a klutz, but even he could not imagine stumbling into a mirror that he had just bought at an antique store and ending up in a world of colorful equines, not to mention gaining hooves and wings at the same time. And whoever heard of green fur on a horse? Perhaps the great and powerful Princess that the guard was taking him to would have some answers because he sure didn't!

Life in Ponyville has been relatively quiet recently, which is somewhat surprising, given that the town's librarian tried to usurp the Equestrian throne only a few months ago. Aside from the appearance of a grumpy pegasus who set up shop as a cloudsmith, the aftermath is so unnoticeable that most ponies aren't even aware that the incident happened at all. Unfortunately, all that's about to change, thanks to the return of a certain revenge-obsessed showmare....

This is the fourth story in The Petriculture Cycle; reading the first three stories, which begin here, is highly recommended.

Episode 1: Mare in the Moon

When the extreme party pony accidentally comes across the legend of Nightmare Moon, she is tasked with overseeing the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration--and the making of new friends. Taking offense to their ways of friendship, Dawn strives to speed up the overseeing to get in a nap before the return of Nightmare Moon.

Episode 2: Elements of Harmony

Dawn is on a mission to save Equestria from eternal night, but as she heads to the library to find more information, she is joined by the five mares she came across the previous day. Stuck with traveling with the completely different mares, Dawn realizes that everypony has their own strengths, and that those are what count in a pony.

Luna stepped carefully through the underbrush, torch lighting the way as she used her magic to keep it lit despite the torrential downpour. Her fur was soaking wet, even the parts protected by her cloak. But she did not care. Luna had bigger worries than the rain.

For she was alone.

This story is a sequel to What Shy Did on Her Summer Vacation

Now, rather than being raised at the center of a war, a dragon named Saphira gets the chance to grow up as the youngest member of the Sparkle family, with all the privileges that come from being directly under Princess Celestia's tutelage... and all the challenges, as well.

What kind of place will a dragon from another world make for herself in Equestria? Only time will tell.
