Life for Spike began to get dull after the events that lead to Starlight becoming Twilight's student. Asked to do less things with Starlight around Spike found his way to the human world to wonder and look for something he'd seen before. Finding Duel Monsters again he's found a way to become human instead of a dog and worked his way up the ranks. But what happens when he ends up cornered by Rainbowdash and Rarity after he takes part in regionals?

Twilight's an alicorn.

Spike is confused. And stressed. Suffice to say, he's in a pretty bad place. Not to worry. Rather then surrender to the incoming emo wave, he decides to take a quick vacation. Get his head straight and all. Oh. He forgot to tell anyone about it.

what if Spike was never raised by Twilight Sparkle? What if he was raised as a bonafide apple on Sweet Apple Acres, brother to Big Mac, Applebloom, and of course Applejack? What if his arrival as a hatchling had inadvertently prevented the deaths of Bright mac and Pear Butter?
