But just who is this pony? Why does he have such an interest in the Princess of Friendship? Why does he seek to protect her even at the cost of her happiness and his own?

Their mission was to drop into Pakistan and retrieve a CIA asset, a quick in-and-out rescue op. But the op was more than a little odd; communication with command was immediately lost, a cloud bank appeared seemingly from nowhere, and the CIA lost its people in even an shadier way than usual. Working as a waiter at Canterlot's various social gatherings is a nice job. Especially since you began chatting with the cello player of the usual quartet, Octavia. You've gotten to know a lot about her, but one night there seems to be something on her mind. You offer her a drink to ease her nerves and you bring your glasses together in cheers.

Next thing you know, you wake up in a strange hotel room in a town you've never been to next to a certain gray mare.

It was 1825, and it's been a year since Ludwig van Beethoven had premiered his Ninth Symphony. One evening as he did his daily walks in the Austrian countryside, a surprise storm forced the composer back into his cheap, rented room. Where a mysterious shadow whisked him away to Equestria, taking everything, including his music along with him.

Holding Ludwig captive against his will, the shadow tells him that if he ever hopes to see all he knows and loves in Vienna, he would have to give him something in exchange. Something priceless that only he could give. The shadow demands that he'll give Beethoven one year to compose his Tenth Symphony, or give up all hope that he will ever return home.

Countess Coloratura, or as few would know her as Rara, wants to reboot her music career. And her new manager, Sapphire Shores, has an idea that might just work.

Rick Barns, a guy who couldn't get his music career off the ground in America, has been trying to get by in Tennessee. When his new pony friend, Applejack, tells him about a new talent search to tour with Countess Coloratura, he gives it one last shot to fulfill his dreams.

But when Rick wins the talent show, he and Rara realize that they have to be a "couple" to make this happen. Looks like they forgot to read the fine print. Now one question remains: Can they make this work while trying to understand each other.

An idea someone brought up months ago that I decided to look into and work on. Tags will be added as the story goes on.

Everyone seems to be finding their one special person. Applejack knows she has fallen for the hard working, stubborn fashion girl. Both complete opposites, but some how perfect for each other. All they need is a little dance push into each others arms.
