The hippopomorphic ponification of death will meet everypony in time, from the Mane Six to the gods themselves. But an ending need not be a sad affair.

Princess Twilight Sparkle now not rules over Equestria but lives in the palace with her wives in a polyamorous relationship.

A unicorn's immune system is bolstered by their magic. Any ailments they develop simply dampen spellcasting until things work themselves out internally. Stronger mages tend to not get sick at all, but Trixie Lulamoon is not a strong mage.

Life is a performance for Trixie. Disasters must be kept backstage and away from audience eyes. But the curtains are closing on her solo act, and somepony needs to notice so they can hop onstage to help her. She's too proud to ask for volunteers.

And to add insult to (narcissistic) injury, magicians of a lesser calibre are attracting the very same audience she felt she deserved.

While it's a sequel to Starlight Does Not Take Criticism Well, you do not read to read that one to understand what's going on. But they both have similar themes so...you know.

Skyrim guard travels the magical land of Equestria, making friends and foes, having adventures and lecturing about proper citizen behavior.
