Sequels1

E

After a thousand long years, Princess Luna was finally freed from Nightmare Moon and welcomed back to Equestria. But she became Nightmare Moon for a reason, didn't she? What if Luna wanted to take over Equestria even before she succumbed to jealousy?

Having returned from the moon, she secretly writes her efforts to seize the throne and notes the challenges that stand in her way. But if there's one thing that hasn't changed over the last millennium, it's the fact that she can't recognize a losing battle when she sees one.

Pfft... :rainbowlaugh: Okay, this looks promising... It's reading time!

EDIT: Yeah, I'm following this. It's fairly well-written, and a unique twist on things, so I'll follow to see where it goes, sure.

Pfft... Okay... Yeah, this is interesting. Oh my, the misunderstandings that are going to come...

Luna, I hope you die in the most excruciatingly painful way possible. :ajbemused:

I predict much annoyance and reshuffling of plans when Luna finds out about Cadance... :flutterrage: :trollestia: :facehoof:

It is with the deepest shame that I realize perhaps hiding this diary in a pile of powdered Poison Joke was not the finest of my ideas.

:rainbowlaugh:

In any case, I was glad that no thorns had been left behind to scratch uncomfortably at my neck, although of course I did not dwell on their absence for long. Only an utter sissy would be so ungrateful as to actively consider the potential presence of thorns in such a gracious gift.

Hmm, could be a reference to Frigid Winds And Burning Hearts.

Could she actually intend Twilight Sparkle to undergo the Rite of Ascension?

You don't have to worry about that, Luna. That requires a military coup.

It's so nice seeing a "Luna's secretly evil" story that doesn't have a [Dark] or [Tragedy] tag in it.

I like this so far? Question, though. How is this on the list of popular stories if there are only 29 likes? It is a sin, though. This needs to have at LEAST 420.

This chapter...I like it.......

:flutterrage:You're going to POST ANOTHER CHAPTER! :flutterrage:

Wouldn't it be funny if Celestia has a way of somehow reading the diary? Maybe what ever Luna writes in it appears in a similar book somewhere else. So Celestia knows all about her little sister's plans for World Conquest, but is willing to try and rehabilitate her. Like she will do with Discord.

2709193
I didn't think anyone would catch that reference! Nice eye there.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for reading this! I never imagined this silly idea would be anywhere near this popular. New entry is coming soon.

Tomorrow I will have you meet your son.

Um, wut?

2719420
No black and red alicorn angstfest here, if that's what you're worried about.

...oh. Oh no. Please tell me it's not Blueblood... :facehoof:

I think this story got some pretty potential

It's a political son right? Son in just a name/title, not an actual biological one?
Which is most likely to be Blueblood.

2721781
That would be weird, eh?
"As it turns out, Sister Dearest, when the Nightmare demon took your body for a joyride, she slaked her hunger for flesh in more ways than one. I've looked after your sons for almost a thousand years after your extended absence."

Luna's chances of taking over Equestria just dropped significantly with having Blueblood on her side. I kinda feel bad for her now.
I also get the feeling that Celestia knows what Luna is up to and just lets it continue to help keep things interesting.:trollestia:

Ok so it's not a son by blood, but it's still Blueblood. I don't know how to feel about this.

"That's when our daughter finally returns home from the Crystal Expanses!"

You really know how to end chapters, do you?
And now I am curious what the explanation for THIS is.

You know, given how Celestia likes dropping these bombs on her, I'm surprised she has the courtesy to not do it while she's drinking/eating anything. Which is unfortunate because I would love to see a Traditional Royal Canterlot Spit-take. :trollestia:

Well, Luna has the subtleness of the mare six on the Galloping Gala.

"That's when our daughter finally returns home from the Crystal Expanses!"

So that's the origin of Blueblood's title?

Alright, this deserves a watch.

I wonder how lunas interactions with twilight will be^^. Does luna hate her? Will luna befriend her? Will luna try to pull twi on her side? Will luna think she has twilight on her side due a conversation in "secret agent speak" without realizing that the "secret agent speak" sounds like a normal conversation?

Great, an immortal Blueblood. Fantastic. At least I can grin smugly at the knowledge that he'll have to endure the heat death or the universe.

2726328
It's pretty obvious (at least to me) that she is talking about Princess Cadence. Coming back from the Crystal Plains, being cheery, female, and immortal.

She hits all the marks on the list.

2731219

We all know that. It´s the use of the plural form "ours" what is unsettling.

Hey Luna! Did you know that killing an immortal is now legal and you get a cash reward for it? Sure they don't stay dead, but that's the fun part. Just ask Celestia about it.

so am I the only one thinking Luna might still be warped in the noggin if she keeps changing the words fear and love? Whether it's subconscious or not I think she's developing some sort of weird word association between them...almost like she put a Machiavelli book in a blender and drank the resulting slush with a small drop of cyanide; you know, for the tangy, not able to kill an immortal, taste

"She may be the worst ruler Equestria has ever seen, but her former status as the Bearer of Laughter cannot be denied even in the worst of my moods."

Head cannon updated. Needs further investigation.

Seventeen parcels of candy canes? I have no idea what you might be planning to do with them, but go talk to Pinkie Pie. She'll have them all in a box ready to go for you before you even place your order.

2797621
Or perhaps Twist.:twistnerd: Mostly because her voice is adorkable.

Hopefully now, Blueblood has a better understanding of how he can come off to less well-off ponies. That is, of course, a royal pain in the ass.

Also, Luna seems to be lined up as the Equestrian equivalent of Jamie Hyneman.

Noticing that some words are being crossed. Wonder what it could mean, if it means anything at all.

Twelve rolls of duct tape (eleven are for further study of this marvelous material)

Yes, Luna. Feel the power that is duct tape!

I get the impression that Luna's in-depth research in to the wonders of duct tape will end up with her requiring to grow an entire new coat of hair.

Why do I get the feeling Peppermint was some sort of evil, mind altering (poorly understood) substance back in the day?

Looks rather interesting, but I'm having a hard time reading it due to the case of Wall O' Text Disease that it seems to have caught. Mind double spacing your paragraphs, please?:twilightblush:

2819209
Luna after a failed attempt: Are We...missing...an eyebrow?

2818853 I think it's just for comedic effect.

2823012 Don't forget the coin embedded in her forehead!

Oh Lu-Lu, why you so cray-cray? :derpytongue2:

The Candycute makes me think of Sugar Cube Corner with robot legs and party cannons. Pinkie Pie would pilot it from the roof while laughing maniacally.
"There will be no escape from this party." :pinkiecrazy:

2843867 I want to see that now.

2843867
Don't forget the Megas style sound system.
80ies rock or wubs .. it dont matter. the Candycute will still need some base :pinkiehappy:

Nice to see Celestia take a hard line here since what Luna did was pretty mean-spirited considering she just tried breaking up the friends that saved her from the beast she was before. Even the likes of Lex Luthor and some of the worst villains in fiction cut those who help them some slack. Those who don't either don't need it or just don't last long.

Even if Celestia is ignorant of Luna's intentions, she needed to be called out on that.

I wonder if those ducks are gonna be important later...

2868637

And it is pretty great to finally get an awesome explanation for that that isn't just
t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQd4hD9yqIDECP6Yo-0YSnR3xMLHPBMR7Og24vFEwdUvR_AX7WehA&t=1

It occurs to me that , despite not having a 'tragedy' or 'dark' tag, the subtext of this story would easily support both.

There are constant allusions to a clinging madness that has overtaken the pony Luna once was; a pony, it seems, that would very much be considered a hero should the need for one ever arise. I can't help but wonder if Celestia is actually aware of her schemes and simply can not bring herself to punish her sister for them in the hopes that she can some day cure her of her insanity.

I am reminded of poor Simon Petrikov

Or I s'pose I could just be over thinking things... Still, her constant substitution of 'fear' for 'love' sais otherwise.
