Set during the events of Welcome To Canterlot High, Scottish Twins Donald & Douglas get caught up in a secret mission when Agents Lyra and Sweetie Drops travel to Sodor in search for a mysterious creature mistakenly brought to their world. Now appointed unofficial members of S.M.I.L.E., the four agents embark on a mission to return the creature back where it came from, as well as save their home from a menacing criminal with intentions to use said creature and many more to conquer Canterlot.

It's a story of putting your trust in others, loyalty, adventure, and high thrills in a world of secret agents, monster busting, and dimensional travel.

Twilight Sparkle was only a filly when Equestria detected the enigmatic Signal. A series of increasingly complex mathematical proofs, the Signal transformed from an intriguing curiosity to reliable evidence of extraequestrian life.

And as it happened, Equestria's exploration of their own solar system was nearly complete. With colonies orbiting every planet and large body, and an asteroid belt filled with miners and prospectors, Twilight's civilization was just about ready to turn its focus outward. The signal was less than ten light-years away, within reach of a daring, experimental voyage. A voyage Twilight Sparkle would lead.

Along with a small crew of the most skilled scientists and engineers Equestria could offer, Twilight is determined to uncover the mystery of the Signal, and brave the final frontier for future generations of Equestrian explorers.

A comment-driven, CYoA story. Please use the links provided in the author's notes of each chapter to vote, rather than the comments.

This story is a creative experiment of mine, one meant to explore the general idea that creativity is often most fostered by restrictions. As a result, I've imposed a number of restrictions on the writing of this story, which I'm stating explicitly here so I can be called out if I break any of them.

1. Brevity is the soul of wit
No chapter may be more than 1000 words long. This wordcount only includes prose, and not the questions/rolls.

2. Every choice matters
When a choice is offered in a chapter, at least one sub-optimal choice must be present, with no indication about which is which other than the prose itself. Every chapter should end with a CYoA-style decision tree when possible.

3. Fate is cruel and the universe is heartless
The decision of the vote must be respected. This means any character could be killed, or the entire story could end in failure, if that's what the votes decide. Where numbers, stats, and randomization appear in the text, these elements are not verisimilitude, but are decided by public diecrolls in my discord server.

Note: Because of the unusual production of this story, its chapters won't be edited in the same way as my usual fare. Feel free to point out any mistakes you encounter.

Long ago, eons before Equestria; the hope of a long lost planet lands upon Equis. Having traveled from galaxies away, and dealt with a catastrophic loss, it unknowingly causes a tragedy of global proportions.

Eons upon eons pass by, and the horror of that time passes into legend. The hope and the entities within it remain hidden, unknown to any outside their realm.

Until a long presumed lost being from that interstellar hope called a Muse is found beneath an apple tree, and awakens in the modern era. In a land called Equestria.

About a month after the Battle of the Bands, during a field trip to the OsCorp building, Flash Sentry is bitten by a genetically altered spider and is gifted with new abilities. After learning that with great power comes great responsibility, he dons a costume and takes to the streets as your friendly neighborhood Spider-man.

And for only being in the superhero biz for about four months now, he's done pretty good. He even got to help Tony Stark and the Avengers in Germany, which earned him his new and improved suit.

But as the days go by, more and more supervillains are coming out of the shadows; some powerful, some crazy, some crazy-powerful. And many of them want nothing more than to squash the spider.

Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer and her friends discover that the Sirens weren't the ONLY magical threats from Equestria that ended up in the human world. And some are drawing the attention of powerful people, very few of them being good people.

Will Flash Sentry be able to keep the people of New York City safe AND juggle his busy life as a high school student? Or will Spider-man fall before the coming storm? One thing's for sure...

Princess Celestia of Equestria has requested a top-notch project to begin in Lab #14, conducted by its' head pony, Light Bond. Lisa Garnet isn't exactly having a good time.

The past two weeks have sent her spiraling into her past, from rediscovering old friends, to finding the man who'd raised her from childhood. The worst of it? She doesn't even have a physical body anymore.
