In the moons of peace that have passed since Twilight Sparkle's ascension to the throne, no threat has ever been as great as the kind presented by the three greatest villains in Equestria's history. Little does the princess know that the past will be catching back up to her, and everyone else, very soon.

A unicorn named Toasty Blanket has come all the way to Equestria from another realm to find a child that she's been separated from for all these moons. Her travels have taken her to Ponyville, but in order to find what she seeks, she must talk to the princess in Canterlot. Having been stuck for so long in a place cut off from the natural world, she's going to learn the hard way what happened with her little one.

Cozy Glow and Princess Celestia have a history together. One that no pony could ever imagine.

This is a backstory I decided to make for Cozy Glow, since we never got to know anything about her past. I'm planning on using this backstory in another fan fiction I'm going to write called "The Ending of The End Part 3" because I want to make a version where the villains reform.

Reminder: For those of you who have already read the story, this wasn't created to write Celestia dirty, and it wasn't to give her bad writing. It was mainly focused on giving Cozy a motivation for her evil actions. So if you don't like it because of the writing for Celestia, please don't berate me about it in any way.

Grogar's ancient machinations finally come together as he leads the Legion of Doom against Canterlot. Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow want to rule for themselves, however, and intend to betray him as soon as it's convenient. Can Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash save Equestria?

Other significant characters: Spike, Starlight Glimmer, Sunburst, Trixie, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, Student/Young Six. Spoiler characters: Windigos, Mean Twilight Sparkle, King Sombra.

Author's note: I decided to rewrite episodes S9E24 and S9E25 as if Grogar were real and the finale were a four-parter. This story takes everything up to and including S9E23 as canon, and took inspiration from a huge variety of sources, including the finale trailer (though it does not strictly hold canon to the trailer).

Twilight and her friends have been defeated, Friendship has been forgotten, and the trio of Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow are the undisputed rulers of Equestria...with the exception of the Windigos.

As the war drags on, and tyranny begins to lose it's appeal, the three tyrants begin wonder: Was it really worth it? And if it wasn't, what can we do to make things right?

Starting on a stormy Saturday night, Cozy Glow asks Sandbar for help. Starting small at first, Sandbar eventually realizes that the little filly needs a pony to look up to. Set in a universe where the events in School Raze never happened.

Proofreader (Chapters 1-8): MasterExilon

After Equestria almost fell at the hooves of Cozy Glow, Twilight Sparkle visited the filly in Tartarus multiple times. She had been talking to her, tried to get to the bottom of why she almost singlehoofedly brought down Equestria by manipulating her fellow friendship students and attempting to banish all of its magic into another realm.
But no matter how often she asked or how much she probed for an underlying reason behind all this, Equestria's youngest enemy only kept reiterating that friendship is nothing but power for her.
Cozy Glow was a special case. But she wouldn't be the Princess of Friendship if she were to give up on a struggling friendship student. Maybe she really was not able to teach Cozy Glow the true values of friendship and neither were her five closest friends. But maybe others could succeed where they have failed.

And so, Twilight goes and assembles a team of ponies and creatures to teach Cozy Glow about Friendship, Villainy, Betrayal and the struggle to choose between Good and Evil.
The only catch was that Tartarus' security level has been increased.
But that's what letters are for.

Set between Season 8 and Season 9.

Luster Dawn is a unicorn filly enrolled at Princess Twilight's School for Gifted Unicorns. After only a year, in which she displayed her exemplary use of magic and expertise at fostering friendships, it would come only as a surprise to her that Princess Twilight Sparkle would offer her the role of being her personal student. Whilst such a thing should have been an honour for the young filly, she can't help but let the stress of carrying such a title weigh heavy on her haunches.

Fortunately, her mother, who isn't the best when it comes to all things emotional, is there to lend her a hoof.
