It was Cozy Glow's first Nightmare Night in Ponyville. She had chosen the best costume, one that really suited her and expressed who she was, and she would be spending the night with her new, best friends: Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
Cozy Glow was an angel. And maybe she could find her second wing tonight.

A story written for the 4th Annual Cozy Glow Short Story Contest. And also my first Nightmare Night story for 2023, this year a little earlier than usual.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders have been friends for ages, so it's no surprise that they're spending Hearts and Hooves Day together... but they have plans for how to spend it.

Not-so-platonic plans.

(This story is a semi-sequel to First Sleepover Between Friends, itself a sequel to Scootaloo's First Friend. But it is not required for you to read those fics to understand this fic. Featured on 9/9/2023.)

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle have made a new friend in the form of fellow blank flank Apple Bloom. Naturally, the friends have decided to have a sleepover, and Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom want it to be at Scootaloo's house.

Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, especially since Sweetie Belle's already been there. However, Scootaloo's parents have been called out of town, so she's been left in the care of her Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty. And Scootaloo is a bit hesitant to introduce her new friends to the aunts.

But Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle persist, so it seems Scootaloo has no choice but to oblige. It means her aunts will get a chance to meet her new friends personally.

Twilight releases Cozy Glow from her stone imprisonment, hoping to reform her, after she agrees to certain terms; no hurting anypony anymore or scheming to steal their power, no more conspiring with evil forces, apologizing to everypony she's hurt stuff like that. But the part of the deal Twilight is admittedly the most eager about is for Cozy to tell her about her past, how she got to the point she did, and help Twilight and everypony else understand her.

There's one catch to that last one though… Cozy Glow doesn't actually remember her past. More specifically, she took a potion that erased all her memories of her past, beyond her general objective of syphoning as much magic as she could and obtaining a position of power, shortly before arriving at Twilight's school. But she does have a list of possible origins for herself, that her past self left for her that all contain some motive for what she did. And Twilight's friends are willing to throw out their own theories.

No matter what the real answer, Cozy and Twilight's friends seem to have a good time with it. Much to Twilight's frustration.

Many of these parody other origin stories I've seen for Cozy Glow. Though not all of them. I'll give credit for the ideas other people came up with as best I can.

As the title states, this story was inspired by "The Many Secret Origins of Scootaloo" (great story by the way). But only loosely.

Scootaloo and Apple Bloom get into an argument involving parents, more specifically the difference between Scootaloo's family situation and Apple Bloom's. Eventually, Scootaloo makes a hurtful remark that causes Apple Bloom to break off their friendship for the time being.

Racked with guilt for what she said, Scootaloo tries to find a way to make things right and win back Apple Bloom's friendship. But how can she when she doesn't know what it's like to grow up never truly getting to know your parents?

After some consulting and advice with her aunts, Scootaloo comes up with a solution. Meanwhile, Apple Bloom tries to come to terms with a guilt she thought she'd successfully buried.

After feeling sad Scootaloo finds comfort in someone special to her that she had long time without seeing, but things didn't end as she expected.

Long ago, there was a unicorn filly who made paintings with her magic that were said to be life like. However, she lived with two parents who were always fighting and abusing each other much to her sorrow. One day, she made a painting of a scary figure she had seen in her dreams. She put the painting up in her special room, but the next day the family was never seen again.

Hundreds of years later, Scootaloo visits their old abandoned house and sees the painting for herself.

However, seeing as Scootaloo’s aunts are lesbians, will Rainbow’s parents accept them, or is it a fear only in her head?
