Captured, and starved of freedom, the former Queen of the Changelings is kept prisoner inside the dungeons of Canterlot under the authority of Princesses Celestia, Luna, and Twilight.

The longer she was held prisoner, the desire for her vengeance grew stronger.

Then, on one particular day, she soon gained a new inmate. One that was a species Chrysalis strongly hated but had the smarts and the manipulation skills to make up for it.

It didn't take Chrysalis long to understand that, despite the difference between age and species, they share one goal that would drive their motivation throughout their quest, and their lives: the joy of witnessing Twilight and her companions fall, and they would do anything to get to that point.

“Golly,” said a small voice, and Luna looked down into dull red eyes the exact colour of blood. A filly smiled up at her, no more than ten years old. “Who are you?”

It all went wrong. She was supposed to take over the world and rule as the Empress of Friendship. Instead, she was trapped in stone with her conspirators. However, Princess Twilight loves giving people more chances...

Maybe she shouldn't have.

The mental contest between Chrysalis and Cozy Glow over who would manipulate who has gone on for far too long. Luckily, Chrysalis recently found a foolproof method of finally overcoming the filly's impudence! With a genius like her at the helm, there was no way her plan would backfire.

Probably.

An entry in the 4th Annual Cozy Glow Story Contest, using the prompt "It wasn't a problem until... Chrysalis started feeling things."

Twilight thought she was coming into her own as Princess of Equestria.

With each passing day, she grew more confident in herself, her choices, and her ability to rule. She even began holding her own court these days, and enjoyed hearing out problems and working on solutions for her subjects.

Yes, she really felt like she was getting a handle on it all, and could deal with just about anything her subjects and the position of princess could throw at her.

Then a little green filly waltzed in and threw her one heck of a curve ball.

"I believe Cozy Glow should be freed."

Excuse me, what?

Twilight had no idea what she was in for, and all the aspirin in Equestria wouldn't be enough to sooth the headaches to come.

Was there something in the Equestrian water supply that was turning cute fillies into devious little monsters, or is she just that unlucky? Well, at least this one didn't seem bent on world domination. At least, Twilight hopes she isn't. This green nightmare might be even harder to stop than Cozy Glow if she ever put her mind to it.

This is not a "Cozy did nothing wrong and the main cast is evil," fic. Just a little filly who may or may not be more than they seem offering a different perspective on the whole situation involving an evil little villainess and what is the best thing to do with her.

Twilight releases Cozy Glow from her stone imprisonment, hoping to reform her, after she agrees to certain terms; no hurting anypony anymore or scheming to steal their power, no more conspiring with evil forces, apologizing to everypony she's hurt stuff like that. But the part of the deal Twilight is admittedly the most eager about is for Cozy to tell her about her past, how she got to the point she did, and help Twilight and everypony else understand her.

There's one catch to that last one though… Cozy Glow doesn't actually remember her past. More specifically, she took a potion that erased all her memories of her past, beyond her general objective of syphoning as much magic as she could and obtaining a position of power, shortly before arriving at Twilight's school. But she does have a list of possible origins for herself, that her past self left for her that all contain some motive for what she did. And Twilight's friends are willing to throw out their own theories.

No matter what the real answer, Cozy and Twilight's friends seem to have a good time with it. Much to Twilight's frustration.

Many of these parody other origin stories I've seen for Cozy Glow. Though not all of them. I'll give credit for the ideas other people came up with as best I can.

As the title states, this story was inspired by "The Many Secret Origins of Scootaloo" (great story by the way). But only loosely.

Twilight decides it’s time to free her young, former student turned young, sworn enemy, and try to reform her. Bracing herself for what is sure to be an uphill battle, as Cozy Glow fights her every step of the way. Except… that’s not how this will go. Not at all.

And only Cozy Glow knows why. But as far as she knows, Twilight knows too.

Prompts: Cozy’s Got A Secret

It's been many years since Twilight took the throne as Equestria's sole ruler. Running a country is hard, especially now, but she has little choice in the matter. The trip to the wasteland was required though, her friend went not too long ago in order to investigate.

Hopefully she'll reunite with them so they can go back to taking care of Equestria, after all, who else will?

Written for the 3rd Annual Cozy Glow Short Story Contest. And was written in a single evening, with editing done later.

Cozy tells the untold tale of her time growing up at Sunrise orphanage. Where her intelligence makes her an outcast until she befriends another filly named Aurora who starts to idolize her. Cozy and Aurora Grow up practicing chess with each other and this leads to Cozy realizing she has real passion for the game. This is until disaster strikes which puts Cozy on a dark path.

This will be my submission to the 4th annual Cozy Glow short story contest.

Having settled down in a small coastal town, Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow now live together. They might not be family, but they were certainly more than friends. Having been given a chance at redemption, the three decided to leave their past behind.

But sometimes the past has a bad habit of seeking you out.

One sunny day a purple princess comes seeking them out. She brings mementos of the past, but more importantly, memories Cozy Glow wished she'd never have to relive.
