After Mrs Glow's closure, and after accepting that her daughter's toxic behaviour was far beyond her help, Starlight Glimmer chooses to get an overview of Cosy Glow's past and discover where Mr Glow stood in the picture of her life. However, her mission proves to become difficult when Mr Glow doesn't answer all her questions straight forwardly. Starlight feels impatient and so, naturally, as any pony would, she challenges him to a game of chess.

On the eve of being frozen in stone like her co-conspiritors in evil Tirek and Chrysalis, Cozy Glow gets an unexpected guest from her recent past who wants to plead her case. What follows is... surprising to say the least.

In this Alternate turn of events, we see how the aftermath of Cozy Glow's villainous acts may have gone differently.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash have been married for some time, and after Cozy Glow nearly stole all of Equestria's magic and took over the school, they decide to take it upon themselves to insure the evil filly stays out of trouble. By taking her into their home, and raising her like their own child.

All the while, Rainbow sets out to prove she can be a good mother, Applejack sets out to show Cozy the value of caring for others, and Twilight sets out to mend a strained relationship.

As for Cozy, well, she just wants everypony to know who's top dog.

Cozy Glow, Tirek, Chrysalis, all are names feared by many. However, after their defeat, memories of them have started to fade.

Not Twilight's though, no she's thought of the incident every day since she ascended to the throne, and today she had a very disquieting thought.

"Didn't Discord say he could see while like that? What about them?"

So she asked and so he answered

On Hearth's Warming Day, Tartarus is not a fun place to be. Holiday joy does not permeate Equestria's most notorious prison. The same drudgery and boredom that plagues its inmates every other day of the year doesn't let up for Hearth's Warming.

Cozy Glow, one of Tartarus's occupants, expected the day to be spent plotting her escape and ascension to Equestria's throne with her 'friend' Lord Tirek. It's how every other day since her arrival has played out, so why not today?

Instead, a mysterious unicorn with a broken horn appears from nowhere. She's here to take Cozy Glow on holiday parole, for a 'proper' Hearth's Warming celebration.

But neither Cozy nor her custodian are what they seem.

It was Cozy Glow's first Nightmare Night in Ponyville. She had chosen the best costume, one that really suited her and expressed who she was, and she would be spending the night with her new, best friends: Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
Cozy Glow was an angel. And maybe she could find her second wing tonight.

On Flurry Heart's twelfth birthday, Cadance tells her daughter she will never die.

Haunted by the loneliness of her young immortality, Flurry Heart finds unexpected solace in the only other pony who could possibly understand her — the filly preserved for eternity within the Gardens of Canterlot.

Flurry could not have forseen that an apparition of that filly would appear before her, and only her.

Something brought them together. Flurry intends to uncover what.

Cozy Glow intends to show her new friends exactly how pony holidays should be celebrated.

I wrote this story between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so it's a little bit of both, I'm just publishing it very late.

This story is a sequel to We're Trapped in Stone, and We Must Scream

For so long, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow stood paralyzed in their stone cacoon; unable to move. To speak. To do anything. But that didn't mean they couldn't see or hear everything around them. For age after age.

But now they've been released from their confinement and are free to bask in a changed world. Unfortunately, the trauma of their ordeal doesn't just fade away.
