Twilight moves to Ponyville, learning about friendship with the help of her five best friends. Little does she know that one of these friends has always wanted a little more than friendship. Can she learn about a new kind of friendship? How does 'Pinkie Sense' work? Will two of the most polar opposite mares in the town ever realize what they mean to one another? Find out in the story of the Party Animal and the Bookworm!

Edit: yes, I've changed a few things if you are re-reading this. I'm trying to get it all updated and fixed up; please let me know if anything's wrong. Gwg is a HUGE help in editing this among all my other work.

If you don't like it and give it a thumbs down, please let me know; I like to learn what I did wrong to either fix it or grow from it.

This story takes place in the same 'universe' as all my other stories; The Cutie Mark Crusaders - Fillies on a Mission!, A 'Not So Simple' Simple Life, Taming the Storm, and Tank's Monologue. Reading the others isn't required but it helps to give a fuller picture of what's going on.

The sequel is A New Kind of Party. Enjoy!

Applejack is a simple farmer, Rarity is a complex and up-and-coming fashionista; two very different personalities and two very different lifestyles. So different that they had very little contact or interaction with one another until a certain lavender unicorn came to town and six near strangers became the best of friends.

Can Applejack and Rarity learn to get along or are they just too different? This is the story of a simple farmer and not so simple fashionista....

Co-made with Gwg, who helps with story, ideas, and editing/reviewing this story.
Also, a large thanks to those who also helped to edit and review this story; there have been a few people who have taken turns helping with the editing. Since different people have done different chapters, the individual chapters have the thanks attached to the corresponding editors.

This takes place in the same 'world' as Perfect Pitch, The Party Animal and the Bookworm, and the Adventures of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Please point out anything if you find errors and leave a comment or message about why you dislike the story. Otherwise, enjoy!

Princess. Alicorn. The pillar of all ponykind, against which so many ponies often judged themselves. Celestia hates having to constantly be these things, and it's past time for a break. Luna will watch over Equestria while her sister is gone, but taking a break from your duties and taking a break from how the world sees you are two very different matters. Enter Prominence, a quiet pony who nopony really pays much mind to. Perhaps because she doesn't exist.

Aided by this disguise, Celestia will find her peace and relaxation in the home of one of the few ponies who know Prominence's true identity: Princess Twilight Sparkle. But when Twilight begins to see Celestia as a pony, and not a princess, can she deal with the feelings that arise? And are the feelings for Celestia, or for a pony she knows is not actually real?

EDIT: I've been featured, July 19th, 2014. I have no words to express how terrified and humbled and terrified and proud and happy and terrified this makes me.

Being an alicorn is wonderful... except when it isn't. There are plenty of things that put a damper on limitless vistas of possibility afforded by such a long life: Court, mortal needs and expectations, the occasional decade of ennui.

And the dreams, of course. Agelessness comes with its own special kind of dreaming. Celestia finds that her own "Inner Court" is a bit too literal, and it--and she--are troubled at the prospect of a near-immortal Twilight Sparkle.

If only she could articulate exactly why that was.

Part of the Monophysite Quartet, which also includes Celestia Isn't Real, Have You Considered My Servant, Twilight?, and The Esoteric Rites of Darkness. All four stories have a common origin point in an old story idea I called "Monophysite" and touch on who or what Celestia really is in some way. They are otherwise unrelated.

Many have opposed Celestia and all of them have fallen, one way or another. Some she has slain. Others she redeemed. Her servants and friends have done great deeds in her name and her fame has spread throughout all of creation. She is the Sun in all of its glory.

And yet she finds that she cannot get a single child to believe she is even real.

Part of the Monophysite Quartet.
Ageless, Or Celestia Plays Dice With the Universe, Have You Considered My Servant, Twilight?, and The Esoteric Rites of Darkness (NSFW), all coming from a single story idea called "Monophysite" and exploring some perception/idea/theory about who or what Celestia is and how that effects her friends and loved ones.

Collab with The Abyss (Chapters 1 and 2)

Proofread by Neko Majin C and edited by The Abyss (Chapters 3 onwards)

Twilight Sparkle has always ignored Hearts and Hooves Day, seeing it as just another normal day with extra chocolate and the occasional broken-hearted friend to comfort. But when Rarity convinces her that not having a date during the holiday is contrary to proper princess protocol, Twilight rushes to do everything in her power to live up to the expectations presented to her.

There’s just one problem, though: Twilight has never been on a proper date before.

After a few rather disastrous attempts to find a date in Ponyville, Twilight goes to her mentor in Canterlot in a last ditch effort in the hopes of finding the answers she seeks. Princess Celestia, however, may have something more for her than either of them had anticipated.

Twilight becomes alicorn of the stars. This is sort of a problem, because Luna kind of already was alicorn of the stars. Oops!
