The first 10k words of Sharing the Nation have been written†. For those not paying attention, this is the sequel to Sharing the Night. This is a cause for celebration!
† Technically, 500 words of that are a small extra scene for Sharing the Night so I can ping people with the update when the sequel goes live, but I should be able to add at least 500 more words today anyway.

I'm not dead! Things are… far from ideal right now, but I'm not dead.
Another year another... complete lack of chapters for way too many months. 
In my defense, I kind of... don't have a house just this moment 
That's what happens when people [who are not me, mind] sell their house before they're actually ready to move. Schedules get all messed up, and people end up sleeping in hotels weeks on end with only a phone for company 
I've been getting a lot of reading done, though, of course, as always.
Work is progressing on the next chapter of Sharing the Night, if slowly. There was one shining moment about a week ago when I thought I'd have it done by the end of the month—but then all the USB ports on my computer stopped working, and it took me ages to decide what to get in the way of a new motherboard.
Life is never simple.
So, you know how I missed my January update, pushing the the next chapter of Sharing the Night to march, and promised I'd do my level best to make that happen? Yeah, umm… I'm not saying it won't happen, but it's not looking good.
I'm moving.
It's been a while since I wrote a blog post. I haven't even been writing author's notes for chapters, which is a little vexing, but honestly, I just haven't had much to say. It's not like I've even been redirecting my communications to Patreon or Twitter—I've been pretty much silent there, too.
I've always defended the Slice of Life tag on Sharing the Night when it was a choice between that or adventure, but now we have a drama tag, which I think is a better fit, so I swapped that in.
That is all. 
Edit: there was a time when I thought I would label the story as a mystery, given the chance. Thoughts?
First things first: The Patreon Rewards have changed to resemble the previous proposal, which involved moving the pre-reading reward down a tier to make room for scene-by-scene updates, so that's now a thing, and the first scene of chapter 16 is up!
The only reason I haven't reposted the April Fools chapter (and other snippets) is for want of a title for the collection. I've got nothing.
"Only" two months for this chapter. It's not the pace I'd like to be at, but it's not too bad, honestly, and if I wanted to be technical, there was an update in April. 
Speaking of the April Fools Chapter—don't worry, it's not gone. For now, I've hidden it, and as soon as I come up with a name and a cover, I'll be posting a new "story" to collect the random snippets I've written, as you do. The existing comments remain on the original story, so nothing has been lost.

Chapter 15 is 9,047 words, according to FimFiction—a little short, but I go over the 10k mark so regularly, I'm fine with that. I have to say, though, this chapter would not have been out this month if not for Patreon. I'm not gonna lie… there's a good chance that money will go straight to rent as soon as it comes in. It may not be monthly updates, but it is working, and it helps out a ton.
So, Obs wrote a thing, and while I don't think it's really relevant to Sharing the Night itself, it did bring to mind a question that I've had for quite some time.
Sharing the Night's current description:
Twilight becomes alicorn of the stars. This is sort of a problem, because Luna kind of already was alicorn of the stars. Oops!
And here we finally have the reveal which I thought that I was going to end chapter twelve with. I really hope the pacing works out somehow. I think, of all the different parts of writing, pacing is one of the things that comes least naturally to me. It's probably okay, though, since prereader response was good.

Wow, not only did they say some nice things about Sharing the Night… they actually told me about it! 
Again, my profuse apologies for taking this long to get this one out, but I think I made that clear in my blog posts a few days ago. Actually, I don't have much to say about this chapter that I haven't alredy said in recent blog posts.
I know, I've been sending out a lot of blogs in the past few days, and I promise, this should be the last one for a while. In fact, it's part of the reason for this blog post.
Well, no one told me to get off my high horse and crawl into a hole, so I went and did it. I'm not going to write a big long blog post, because that's what the Patreon page is for. Go there and help me make sure nothing like this terrible two-chapter year ever happens again.
I am so, so sorry.
