Minor update · 6:04pm May 25th, 2016
Work is progressing on the next chapter of Sharing the Night, if slowly. There was one shining moment about a week ago when I thought I'd have it done by the end of the month—but then all the USB ports on my computer stopped working, and it took me ages to decide what to get in the way of a new motherboard.
Life is never simple.
Still, I've been reading and writing on my phone and tablet; mostly reading because it's just so much simpler to do… but that isn't really anything new. I read a lot. As for the writing, well… like I said, it's slow going, but it is going. I probably won't be posting scene-by-scene updates until I'm back up and running on the desktop, though, so my apologies, Patreon patrons.
Speaking of Patreon, I can't believe it's been six months since the last chapter of Sharing the Night. 2015 went… reasonably well, I thought, and I definitely consider Patreon a part of that, but 2016 just… ugh. Moving certainly hasn't helped, especially since it's been long and drawn out rather than short and hectic, but if I'm being honest, the lack of progress has been mostly me.
Anyway, I sincerely hope the wait is worth it. I will finish Sharing the Night (and A Sparkle-ling Perfection, of course), and hopefully in doing so, I'll eventually learn to just write. In the mean time, though… these delays do give me more time to think, and as a result, there's at least one reveal in the next chapter that I'll be really interested to see the response to.
Hopefully soon.
Yay news! Very much looking forward to seeing more Sharing the Night, CIC. :) It's one of my favoritest fanfics of all time, really. And I know I'm not the only one, given how often my other favorite fics slip in references now and then.
Do you need any help with the motherboard stuff? Patreon doesn't really help you if you can't write.

Well, technically, I paid for the one in The Moon's Apprentice through Patreon
Anyway, thanks for the offer of help with the motherboard, but I'm fine on that account. Money isn't as ticht as it wvs last year, and honestly, it only took as long as it did to order a replacement because I'm well-informed, indecisive and greedy. I spent at least a day or two convincing myself that I don't need to spend a bunch of extra money on Thunderbolt 3 and only really suceeded because the options just aren't there yet…
Good to hear from you and I'm waiting to see this reveal. Sounds intriguing.
Can't help it when your computer craps out. Still nice to know it's being worked on.

Aww, that kinda ruins the magic of the reference. XD
Thanks for the update. :)
Sorry about the computer problems, though.
An interesting reveal, huh? Possibly something controversial. My, that could be any number of things, but somehow I get the strange sense that it's a new thread in play, not resolution or development of previous threads. Controversial indeed.

Well technically, this probably happened because I shorted something connected by USB several weeks ago, but I can't prove it since the problem only appeared after rebooting for updates.
So yeah, probably my fault.

Just buy PCI USB card for $10. I installed a lot of them in the times of i848 chipsets that burned like matches, because sometimes you got hole in the southbridge where USB controller was, but computer still worked without it.
