Well now. THAT is an introduction.
Doom.
The Clippers?
Wait till they get a load of the SS Great Griffon.
Awww, Honour's dad seems nice
...................HAHAHAHAHA! What a twist!
Artemis: “That’s got to be the most boisterous sailor I’ve ever met.”
Honour, slowly raising her head: “So it would seem...”
♡♡♡♡♡
Update
Wow what a wholesome and unexpected introduction to the Gala. Let's just hope that this is the worst thing that happens to the quintet and that the rest of the gala goes smoothly with no problems, crazy hijinks or anymore unexpected introductions.
I mean it is the Gala, nothing crazy happens at the Gala.

I hope honor has a good time, she’s been stressed enough as it is and it’d be good to see her let down her hair! Figuratively and maybe literally that is.
Leeward's really charismatic, but also really embarrassing.
It feels kind of weird that Honour thinks of Leeward on a first-name basis, more in terms of him being a sailor than in terms of him being her father. I'm guessing there's a story there.
Damn what a start. Amazing Introduction just to be followed by a amusing awkward moment as Tarterus.
The speech sure was... Something...
HonorIA Bound ... Reminds me of Val change of name.
The Gala bearly started and things got interessting. Celestia probably enjoys every second out of routine
So the Checklist is still on saying hello to the Princesses and one Maillethoof to ruine someones mood if im not mistaken. Wonder if mother Karmen will show up...
I loved this ending!
Maybe I missed some info, but I thought it was Honour's Ex, on that ship?! This was SO MUCH better, in my opinion.
Greatly looking forward to more!
Look, Honor, he loves you a lot. He may not have ever been around and he may be embarrassing, but he dos care about you.
I've been hearing that song, I'm Shipping Up To Boston, for so many years and I've never been able to find its name. Thank for that.
I can only imagine the crew is going to get drawn into said fight somehow. Or that something nasty will result and they'll get drug into that. Seems to be their kind of luck.

Same here.

From what I gathered of his story, he was out at sea more often than not. I'd guess that she doesn't really think of him as her father figure, and more like the annoying guy who shows up once in a while to embarrass her, and he gets away with it because he donated half of her DNA.
10787824
If it's not just you and me, then the writer played that setup really well!
Oh, geeze, an embarrassing parent.
I’m assuming you’re using the British honour system for the titles the guards have. How, may I ask, does knighthood and the etiquette for such work in the UK?
Ships names should be italicized, just letting you know.
10787838
The rules of nobility and etiquette default to Victorian England's as the standard bearer. The sailing ship's names have been italicized.
Ahhahn I did not expect that.
You pulled a good one, kind sirs. Real fast one.
With how much everypone's drama has been centered around romantic interests, what we've read now about Honor running away made perfect sense in-context to be yet another lover.
If her dad isn't just playing this up for the public... like out of some nefarious scheme or something :V...
He might just be a good dude.
And also extremely uncomfortable for Honour to be around.
This is gold.
10787868
My thoughts exactly!
I hope Sir Anonymous continues to uncompromisingly oppose unsafe cost-cutting in all future Equestrian industrial endeavors.
So come all you good workmen, beware the command
That comes down on high from the desk of a man
Who's never held steel or torch in his hands
Roll Northumbria Roll!
Is Honor Bound's mother nicknamed Brandy? I mean she sounds like a fine mare and a good wife, but Leeward Boinds love, his lady, appears to be the sea.

Simple as signed,
Sir blank, knight of the blank,
His/her grace the duke/duchess of blank,
If they have more than one noble title (e.g, being a Prince and a Royal Duke) the higher takes precedent:
His Majesty, Prince Blueblood.
If they have no noble title they are referred to first by rank if they are officers, commissioned or not. If they are not officers it is title:
Lieutenant blank, of insert regimant here(e.g, her magesties second armoured cavalry)
Mister blank, of blank
Mrs/Mis blank, of blank
Note that "of blank" is only necessary if they belong to a house, guild, or society of any kind, for example:
Misses Mary, of the house of Howie
Master Lamplight, Manchester's guild of Chandlers.
Masonic Officer Alexander Maple, of Winnipeg Lodge
Otherwise it is but a surname.
Bear in mind, I havent had to do this sort of ranking in a while. It is how it is usually done. Inserting my username here for familiarity, I would be addressed as:
Mx Davenfjeld, of House Bucannon.
A fair, if somewhat rocky start for the night.
GIven Celestia's preference to indirectly "liven' up" the night, I'm sure something awkward for all is in the making.
Otherwise, we can content ourselves in the possibility some dumb stallion needs a knock to the head. Imagine if Blue Blood were to try something...
10787868
I agree.
Aye, he seems like a good honorable stallion, but I understand Honor's need for distance. Not many can take embarrassment so easily.
This all reminds me of the movie Master and Commander.
We all thought Honor had some terrible past with this mystery pony that's been so foreshadowed...
Some terrible encounter that has marred her for life...
...it's worse than we ever imagined.
He's [redacted]
Are the main 6 at this gala?
10787640
After meeting him, I can understand her dread.
I knew it! I knew he'd just get 4 flowers, one for each of his guards. There is hope for the herd!
I was expecting a villain and instead I find an embarrassing parent making a genuinely hilarious introduction. Now this ladies and gentlemen, is how quality entertainment is done.
10788284
Doesn't mean you can't be both. ;P
The loudest usually have the biggest to hide after all.
THOUGH I just hope he's not malicious in any way and just a really really really loud and happy embarrassing parent.
10788474
I suspect that if he really was a villain of some stripe, Honour would have been smart enough to figure that out years ago and would have reacted differently here. Plus, he’s kind of presenting himself as the exact opposite of an inconspicuous figure trying to avoid undue attention to itself and its hypothetical schemes...
Doesn’t wholly rule out the possibility of him just being a very, very good actor, of course -- but then that’s basically true of anyone anyone ever meets.
This may just be the result of my brain being jumbled, but I swear I remember Leeward being introduced as Honour's ex husband instead of her father when Castlerook mentioned him to Honour at their "not a date" night.
Someone please refresh my memory.

Meanwhile, at TheManFromAnotherTime's place...
10787755
You and me both. Pretty sure I remember Castlerook mentioning that to Honour on their "not a date" night.
I read Leeward's lines with Hondo Ohnaka's voice.
10788649
*clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*!
Sorry. I don't know where to go for all these cool memes.
Smooth
Ho boy, they WILL remember that.
This is absolute GOLD
Bucking LEGENDARY , I like him already.
Wew, I remember what fun this chapter was when I first read it. Good one.
I've been wanting to comment again In quite a while, but have been unable to until now.
Should be "Vámonos" for proper Spanish spelling. Never heard "Vamanos" being used.
I am not entirely sure, but I think this should be "By Appointment of their Majesties Princess Celestia and Princess Luna...” as in, Princess Celestia and Luna appointed him, he wasn’t appointed to them by someone else. At least that’s how it shows in the title.
10788736
The “appointment to” phrasing is a joke on the Royal Warrant of Appointment as seen on several brands of British products:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Warrant_of_Appointment_(United_Kingdom)
Eg Twinings tea and Walkers’ shortbread cookies both have the “By appointment to her Majesty the Queen” text and royal seal stamped on them.
God if she's this embarrassed about him now... just wait until he finds enough alcohol to get drunk.
10787957
If she wasn't, she will probably be now!
10788736
Fixed!
Embarrassing, yes, but otherwise I like this salty seapony!
10789145
*gasp in horror* The Hypogriffons would like to know your location
10787673
Very nice Jack Sparrow referance
10787808
His missing leg is the witness to him working of his butt to get food on the table. Its sad that good men often dont see there beloved ones grow up and can keep em close for a snuggle or three
10787933
Great song
Giving like 9/10 of the comment section a lile because its entertaining as hell would be great if i didnt have to waist time because i cant vote on en all on a go
10787957
Damn... That sound to good not to be true 👍
Did I miss something? Why was Honour so embarassed by her dad's pirate/sea captain shtick? I was buisy imagining anon trying to explain the pirates of the carribean films to him. Do they have that technology in your version of ponyland? Maybe done with magic or something?
10789228
Because, parents are embarrassing.
You've heard those stories a hundred times.
They've told you that you should try X the same number.
They glance dissaprovingly across the hall.
They know all your nicknames and mispronunciations, and insist on using them instead of the actual word. (Bake-ed-Bee-ons for example)
They love you to bits.
They do all that in front of your friends, especially if you've not really mentioned before, and you tend to get embarrassed. Your friends tend to just think your little embarrassment is hilarious.
Parents always know how to embarrass the kids.
That's it?
