Oh sick, a shadowpath tunnel!
...Whoa.
Well that explains how they're moving freight around, I knew constant teleportation would be too costly. Ah, borehole portals, or something similar, it's been quite some time since I've seen the like.
Ok that's pretty cool.
I wonder though, is it just that this room has artificial gravity or are they somehow actually on the moon? It's most likely the former but the latter is so much cooler.
Also that maze scene was fairly unnerving especially with the music, could not have picked anything better myself. I was just waiting for a jumpscare.
They went to the moon? well that was unexpected

That line was from The Dungeonmaster.
Talk about not having the proper passport. While Ig is outside the system, you are kind of... Loony to be on the moon, and probably wouldn't have a great reception. Even if you survived the paperwork would be something fierce.
I suppose Rocinante would freak out if he ever saw Equestrian windmills. They might be giants, after all.
Insert sex dungeon joke
No eye candy to enjoy
Sex dungeon jokes intensify !
For those unaware of the references, Rocinante is the name of the iconic, elderly horse that serves as the awkward and inconvenient mount of Don Quixote in the novel 'The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha' (and part 2 of the novel), written by the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes in 1605 and 1615 respectively.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocinante
Similarly, Aldonza is the real name of the peasant woman and part-time prostitute who the 'Ingenious Gentleman' in question confuses for a noble lady, dubs her by the name of the equally iconic 'Dulcinea', and makes her the target of his unrequited chivalric affections.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dulcinea_del_Toboso
I am unaware if Ignacio's own name is a reference to something, but 'blazon' is the formal name of a coat of arms in heraldry and heraldic vexillology.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blazon
Space space space! Gotta go to space!

Rocinante is also the name of the main ship in the Sci-Fi series The Expanse. That could be pertinent, considering the books series is on its fifth television season now.

There a joke i might have to supress
10677300
Damn... We humans need rockets before we casualy walk/bunny hop on the moon
10677309
Alien isolation vibes... Game give me almost a heart attack. Even to this day... Great game
10677322
One hell of a report to write... Well on the other hoof... DADT rather say 'noooo'

Apparently the gaps in the walls are the gaps in the void between two locations?
Wonder if Ignacio could reach the other local worlds, never mind the Mirror worlds?
Yet again this story manages to surprise me, wow. Amazing!
I don't know... the imperial japanese navy seems to like it!
This is the cliffhanger police
say whaat !? Oo
AAAAAAAAAH
These every other day updates are killing me.
I understand why you have to slow down, but that doesn't make it any less upsetting to have to wait :/ especially if there are 2 plot lines going and it means I have to wait 4 days for an update to one or the other.
Oh well. I suppose I'd rather wait an extra day in between than go on hiatus.
I suppose I don't have much to say about this chapter. In hindsight, like 90% of it is just walking.
Too few stories make use of portals, so this certainly was a pleasant surprise. Welcome to the moon, girls! This should provide the girls with a valuable and unique perspective of Luna and the batponies.
Interesting chapter
Them going to the moon reminds me of something. Are Batponies' bone structure weaker than Equestrian ponies? Because the moon has weaker gravity than Equus so it definitely affects the density of their bones.
Hold that thought...

The Moon! Well I certainly wasn't expecting that but still, awesome!
Very excited to see what will happen next here, even if I have to wait an extra... Oh wow, 4 days, potentially. Damm. Although, it's not like our VIP is having a dull day, certainly interested to see where that's leading as well.
Translating spaniard here with more to add to the baronies:
Translated: "Ah, here we are. Hello, you bastards"
"A unicorn!? Here!? Come on, come on, my brothers, we must charge!" Also, the "Ándale" thing is DEFINETLY mexican, not spanish.
Both names are from "Don Quixote". Aldonza Lorenzo is the real name of Lady Dulcinea, and Rocinante is Quixote's horse.
As crazy as Don Quixote, loved that detail
what a wonderful heresy this is
OH SHIT
We royal space engineers now. AEIOU.
Well damn I wasn't expecting that ending
Blazon: "Welcome to the moon."
Everyone: "Wait wut?"
Did I skip over the part where they teleported/portal-crossed from one celestial body to another?
I try to be more thorough with my reading, eversince reading the first Hercule Poirot book in college.
10678052
You did not miss it.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!
10677492
Walking wile getting stalked... Play 'Alien Isolation' and walking becomes a speed you become uncomfortable with.
10677582
Walking on the moon... Neat. Now they only need to learn walking forward wile moving backwards...
10677663
Yep. One of the first things to go trough my head. Unless they magic away the problem Marcos just killed himself via glass bone syndrom...
10677669
Damn... German Griffons make more sence...
10677700
Daaamn... There are some fine moonwalking jokes i really have supress here
10677723

10677806

10677816
Brilliant 👍
10677852
Pretty sure that the point
10678037
I think this is a Tardis moment... Wonder how a certain Doctor would react:
1:30
10678037
"Lily, do you hear that music?"
10678181
Not just Marcos, but every single batpone including Ebonshield. Maybe Luna too if living on the moon for 1000 years changed her bone structure.
Either way, I'm interested to know what kind of magic they're using to solve this problem.
Damn! Luna is one hell of a Mage!
Wondering now if that light Sparks saw was Earth/Equis?!
10677276
In the show the Royal Guard’s only purpose is to get easily defeated by the villain of the episode. Most Fics – wisely – chose to ignore that and portray the Equestrian military as more competent.
Maybe I’m misinterpreting the story, but it looks like VIP Protection is seen as a boring zero-effort job with good pay where all you need to do is walking two steps behind some fancy pony while going from one social gathering to another. At least Lily seems to have that opinion and she’s probably not the only one. Which is not even that far away from the truth. You probably can work your whole life in VIP protection without having to prevent a single assassination attempt. At some point routine sets in, which can be disastrous if there’s suddenly a genuine threat to the VIP’s life.
But to be honest: If the Quaternion acted like real-life bodyguard the story would be a lot less fun.
10677816
John Madden John Madden John Madden John Madden aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa AEIOU
10678475
It's not gay if it's on the moon.
10678111
Prequel quotes never stop being fun.
10677406
Yeah, Holden is the one to name the ship, and his mother explicitly mentions that Don Quixote was his favorite story as a kid.
My reaction reading the final lines:
...WELL, that's um...unexpected to say the least.
I wonder how UNIQUE her 'spear' would be there...
Ah.
The one place that Solar Monarch hasn't corrupted....
Artemis just went for the Pegasus altitude record while barely leaving the ground.

...But are there plenty of bananas there?
Wait a second, I just realized Sparkshower is now... well, good thing she brought her booster rocket. Already prepared! blimeyboyo.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/rocket17.png?w=1000
10680335
The transformation is complete.
Wow. I expected there to be a portal to the moon somewhere in the rookery but not like that.
