Yep, that's anon.
Honestly I would have been more surprised if anon didn't apologize to her.
The flowers were a nice touch too.
'Guau' indeed! I'd been expecting this Chapter for a while now. Let's see how everyone reacts to it as I did the first time I read it. The upcoming chapters are soon to entertain as well.
Good job once again with the adaptation's transcript.
Well, now I'm fearing Anon has a REEEEEEEALLY severe depression and maybe inferiority complex now, or he is training to be the master of dodging emotions whatsoever.
Nothing else to say here, I'm genually concern for him now. After everything that happen and he apologies? Just like that, sorry but no, even if he wants to apologies this needs to be talk before that. He should request for her to come to his chambers. The gesture is not mature, adorable, or nice…o it does and I will grant him that he is taking the moral high ground but still I'm scare by it.
If I'm over reacting please, someone explain me why? And if it really believable that course of actions.
This Anon is so goddamn smooth. I want him to be my dad.

As I understand it, it's not about morality really. It's about compassion. Honourpone clearly got emotional and said things she didn't mean to say (at least not in the way she said them). Since Anon is so freaking
hotamazing, he understands she's made a mistake, and is offering her a way to reconcile without shame or confrontation. An apology for the inciting slight that caused the outburst is the best way to do so, deserved or not. This isn't about being right, it's about being
sexykind.10553196
That makes sense, offer a olive grant so to speak is what you are saying right?
10553178
It's also possible that Anon is on the Autism spectrum.
Nothing too severe, mind you, but perhaps something like mild Asperger's.
10553199
Yas, that is what says me. At least, it's what I assume so far. It all depends on what their next interaction looks like tho. Who knows! Maybe Anon is like, the biggest Simp, or the flowers have a dozen angry bees hidden in the wrapper.
10553178
I think you're overreacting. In my experience, it works best to apologize first to the other person, to get them talking. If they don't apologize, what have you lost? Nothing. So apologize for your part and move on to the reconciliation, rather than being a stubborn stick in the mud.
10553205
Oh actually I do have asperger's myself and often times try to end conflicts as fast and as peaceful as I can. Jeje in fact that has ironically put me in trouble multiple times telling me I shouldn't just close those events that fast and it never ends well in the long run because you build up anger (not that ever happen to me mind you)
But that would also explain a lot of things that had happen so far, he and I share a trait of needing to explain in detail the extension of a rule or a custom that to others might seem obvious but to me I take it a bit literal, think more logical than emotional, and analyze things from a more technical approach.
Ergo 'I made a mistake with my guard, I must fix it'
…which again, I understand for experience. He is ignoring himself because that because he probably hasn't realized that he has been insulted.
If he is also complete dense to invitation of flirting then we are officially the same, I really can't get sarcasm or indirect jeje! I knew there was a reason why do I related so much to that character.
10553178
Well I have been thinking about why Honour would react the way she did and one thing I think we are understating is the devotion to the princesses. The princesses are essentially living breathing deities and when in the presence of them it can induce awe inspiring power that creates devotion and enthrallment in those in the room. I personally have a feeling Honour joined the guard initially because of idealistic religious/patriot fervor for the princesses, and while her time in the Guard had made her jaded, the experience with Princess Luna had rekindled those feelings. In addition to that, I have a feeling that Anonymous was not affected by magic that Luna was using in the room and therefore did not experience the same thing that the others did.
Since Honour had this religious/patriotic zeal for the Princess rekindled after the meeting then Anonymous suggesting or even joking that the Princesses boon was/is an inconvenience can definitely cause an angry or violent reaction. Remember that humans use to torture or kill people who joked about or questioned the authority of God, and our God isn't a living being among us.
While I do think Anonymous is likely hiding his own emotions and using his work as a way to avoid interacting and fitting in to Equestrian high society, I do believe his apology was fine, it definitely prevents the situation from getting worse and also reaffirms Bound's believe that Anonymous is not a typical spoiled VIP. I am sure Bound and Anonymous will talk and make amends in person. Considering their personalities, it would be abnormal for them not to speak to each other about this.
10553216
Yep, I'm starting to incline with the asperger's. idea now, the pieces are starting to line up now.
Or he simple just need a moment to process things, breath think what she said and apologies for having insulted her. The alien thing still needs to be talk but that can come at it own time
10553213
Trust me, I have tried that approach before but almost always people keep saying 'you need to talk' but yeah. Now that they explain things it makes sense. Not taking things out of proportion and de escalate instead of escalate.
10553215
I have mild Asperger's, myself, so I tend to miss some jokes and non-verbal cues, but for the most part can function in ways people tend to think is normal, or at least only marginally unorthodox.
Thinking back on my own experiences and how they parallel to Anon, is what lead me to my conclusion.
10553178
Let's see - you are living in a foreign country and obviously do not know all of the customs and rules. Some of them match yours, some you have learned along the way and some you have never encountered.
You get guards assigned to you and do not really know what to do with them - you never had guards before. he problem is that having guards involves a lot of customs and rules nobody bothered to tell you. Apparently, there is a problem with appearances, not just security - you cannot have other people in your room without your guards being present or at least outside - even if you completely trust those people - because being unguarded looks bad.
So, after being lectured on this by your guard, you make another mistake - insult her by joking about how it's almost an inconvenience to have guards. To you, it may be just a joke, but the way she reacted made it clear that such a joke is not funny in the Equestrian culture, or at least to her, because you essentially told her that her profession was worse than useless. So now you have to apologize for it.
I mean, there are enough differences on Earth that someone may joke about something, but manage to greatly insult someone else without meaning to.
10553235
Yeah it makes sense in retrospective. I think Anon and Ebonshield could really used those classes, because it really sounds like a common mistake that could repeat if not careful
10553231
Like how he manage to look complete fine when Luna was doing the light show, it wasn't because he had backbone …well maybe it was that or she really trusted her.
But it also could be because he literally was immune to it. It a solid argument.
10553239
Yeah. Well, the problem here was Honor being high on princess fumes and overreacting, but Anon could not have known that.
But yeah, he certainly would have benefited from some classes. The problem is that those customs are probably so obvious to everyone else, they did not even consider that Anon did not know them.
10553178
Definitely overreacting. Anonymous said something insensitive, Honor was greatly offended, told him so, and stormed off. The natural remedy in this situation is to apologize. Even if, yes, her reaction was perhaps over the top, and partly due to unusual magical influences, it was still honest, and what he said was the cause.
10553244
And don't forget she also said something offensive back, but yeah I was thinking to much of the idea, now it makes more sense. Thanks for that
I feel like this is probably an even bigger faux pas than inviting his guard to the theater.
Ouch. She beleives its a case of, first he treats us as pets, then he treats us as slippers? Next will just throw us on the fire, or just out?
Anon's got some serious game. I don't think he realizes it, though. But seriously, if Anon keeps this sort of thing up then eventually one (or more) of them is just going to drag him into their bedroom.
Tough love, gets you tougher resolutions!
This Anon, knows when he fucked up with he's mare's. And like a man, he apologized!
Good on you!
10553176
Shhhhh, no spoilers.
Here is a thought, Have Anon sit through the VIP Guard classes. Then he learns what to expect from his guard, and what his Guard should expect from him as well. Some how, I can see a sergeant seeing a patron attending, and going into a mild panic...
Nice
Awww... he has no idea just how many rumors he just birthed with that little gesture, the poor guy.
Well shit... Did Anon just give her a easy way out? A free 'lets talk about it and ignore the verbal explosion for a civil resolution ?!
Lucky mare and perhaps she still get to dance with that stud Lucky mare indeed...
That was very unexpected from Anon in my view. A VIP most surprising and different indeed.
Great chapter. I wonder about the flowers, eat it or decorate her room with it? Perhaps 50/50 ?
Anon is one forgiving stud muffin. Perhaps she can...
Thank him later~♡
She was still way out of line with some of the stuff she said. I hope she apologizes.
In fact, Anon made one big mistake right from the beginning of the story. As they say in the army, "the initiative f..ks the initiator" This idealist got in with his progressivist ideas "to raise the technical level of the pony." Why would he personally? Money? (Then you had to open your own private engineering bureau, get yourself a patron, for example, Celestia. And live quietly and richly. You don't need to become a nobility for this. Don't want to go to Equestria? You can go to another state. Not only ponies live in this Collect knowledge and think seriously before starting such a serious business). Did he want power? (Apparently not and it's stupid in xenos society) In the end, he got what he got. He kneels down. Power and authority are respected in any society. And in a monarchical society, it is especially necessary. There is "mister officer" and there is "hey you, rag officer" He agreed to be the second. If he wanted to resolve the conflict, there are many ways to do it. But immediately and unconditionally recognizing your surrender to the other side of the conflict is the worst move in resolving the conflict. Such a person is not worthy of respect and he is unlikely to achieve serious results in life. All the more so global. The technical revolution of the state is not only about technology and knowledge. It is also the authority of those who make reforms.
Oh snap, that's a real power play move there. Not only flowers and an apology but a way to apologize without making it possibly worse by doing it in person. Can't exactly snap your fingers and poof flowers so makes the time between Honor's episode to the present make sense. No intent to let her stew in her emotions but need time to have it prepared.
Honestly, I am rather impressed with this Anon. Good lad that one.
10553617
I'm sorry you didn't find the story to your liking. Perhaps this is a bit of a shallow read of my own, but this is not a story of human supremacy, nor is it the kind where only one individual is clearly, distinctly in the wrong for the blame to fall squarely on their shoulders to provide a "take that!" moment.
10553646
Well that makes lots of sense then. I'm just glad I'm not getting too old to not recognize these references.
10553617
Humans aren't apex predators dud. The whole reason why we're so successful is because we threw out the predator/ prey rules and wrote our own.
That being said, you're right, he could go elsewhere; but he obviously sees something in Equestria that makes it worth staying and it ain't the native color. He clearly cares for his guard, hence why he gave them leave - it's not dereliction if you have leave. I for one enjoy the imperfect, flawed characters, they come across as so much more lifelike...but you don't sound like you're having fun. Maybe it is time to take a break from the story? Come back to it in a week and see if you still feel the same way with a half-dozen new chapters to see if things straighten out.
10553646
Welp, if she is actually refering to Lily and saying to her that, even mentally, then it should be Cabrona, but, if she is using Cabrón as neutral expression, like if we say "fuck" or "shit" mentally, then Cabrón is not the proper term, Cabrón/a is meant as an insult to someone else, i said before it means gay, to be angry, stupid, idiot, etc., something you tell people as an insult, aloud or in your mind, or it could mean something strong and cool if you refer to an object, it depends on the country really, some countries is a lesser insult, some others is a very strong word, but at the end, you don't use it alone as an expression; a better term would be the word "Joder", wich could easily be translated as "fuck", other similar term would be "mierda", which is "shit", which are the most common in latinamerica and even spain; now, for the story, mierda and joder can be use to express the same felling, but mierda is a stronger word, so "joder" is the ideal for Evonshield in my opinion, Cabrón/a is when she wants to insult someone, what the words means for her, depends on you, as i said, it have different meanings depending on the country, so you need to choose a spanish speaking country to base the slangs and swears of the sotry.
10553713
Not necessarily. In Mexican Spanish it is common for us to say 'Ah, cabrón!' as an expression of general surprise, anger, etc. It can be used like this.
10553646
Nope. If it's meant as a general expression of surprise/shock/anger or whatever, the term remains in its masculine form. You wouldn't change it to feminine unless she were specifically calling the Glamerpone a 'cabrona', in which case Ebon will also have to fight me.
Class act.
I certainly expected Anon to not report the outburst but WOW! Good lad
10553747
In México then, it appears, I know many countries that don't use it like that then, but even then! ah, cabron is different from just cabron.
10553706
Humans are on top of the food chain and therefor are apex predators. We EAT apex predators, that's kind of a way to be up there by default.
10553662
To me, Anon's action seems very reasonable, he does not know that Honor was high on princess fumes when she yelled at him for his joke, so he could onl'y assume that what he said was way out of line and that other VIPs would know better. So he decided to apologize hoping to get forgiveness and avoid trouble (maybe what he said was really offensive and if Honor reports him there would be consequences).
We, the readers, know that he's wrong - Honor just overreacted and she should apologize for blowing up at him like that for a stupid joke.
I come for the story. I stay quite the time longer to read the comments. Its really inconvenient that i have to to wait to like/dislike almost all commens..
Poor me
Its sad one cant copy the comment section when downloading the story
10553747
As far as i know, batponies are spaniards in this story.
As a spaniard myself, i can confirm that "Cabrón" can be said to an object too (Could be something like stubbing your toe on a table leg and calling the table a douchebag). It's usually an expresion of anger or can be said un a playfull manner to a close friend, like calling your best friend a bastard while smiling because something good happened to him.
There has been some entertainment just reviewing the comments on this story, with people speculating all over the place, trying to explain what is being hinted, or trying to explain events through their own malfunctioning social comprehension (I have my own issues here) as something the author is doing when I have seen no actual clear indicators of various mental conditions, but lots of social communication failures making everything bonkers.
Personally, these social misunderstandings are the funniest ways of having problems, because they can eventually be resolved and become a bonding process for characters, as well as ourselves in the real world.
This story has been, in part, so entertaining because the dynamics, when appreciated as presented without personal injections making it more confusing, are well balanced within themselves. It is like watching a slow motion train wreck of fluffy proportions. All of it can be avoided, but none of the characters realize it. They mean well, but keep doing things based on what they know, and not what the reader knows.
Much popcorn is needed for this story.
Even if he had the inclination to do something about the situation, I doubt he understands protocol enough to petition Violetta.

Except by definition we aren't a predator. A predator is:
We don't 'exist' on eating alpha predators, we exist by domesticating animals and plants for our own benefit. So I will reiterate, the whole reason why we're so successful is because we threw out the predator/ prey rules and wrote our own. Those being animal husbandry and agriculture. We have transcended the predator/ prey dynamic altogether. Don't fool yourself, most humans wouldn't last a day in the environment with alpha predators.
