Destiny is a fickle thing.

Cloud Kicker had her life figured out. A cushy desk job in the weather service in a few years' time. Great friends. Good times. Loose mares. A mild amount of family and relationship drama along the way, maybe, if she was unlucky.

She'd never have guessed that her life would take a meteoric rise toward eternity after making a cute, purple librarian cry.

(Written entirely for laughs for AU Month in the Winningverse. I couldn't resist.)
(For those that reflexively downvote Winning stuff, comment instead! It's more fun to bicker. Ask Pinkie.)

Twilight Sparkle has a lot of things in life: anxiety, a big brother, great friends, inquietude, loving parents, nerves, a place in Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, staggering levels of magic, and uneasiness. (And an obsessive compulsion to categorize everything, but that’s not important.) What is important is that something new is being added to that list: a date.

Cloud Kicker asked her out, and it’s too late to back out of it. Plus, everypony is so excited for her, though that might just be because they were all worried she would never actually go out on a date. Now she just needs to survive the date itself.

That, and figure out why Rainbow Dash is acting so strange about the whole ordeal.

It figures. Rainbow Dash goes out practicing her aerial acrobatics to try and impress the Wonderbolts and busts her wing in the process, right before a big workload for the weather team. So it falls to someone else to cover for her: Me, Cloud Kicker.

I'm not worried, though: it's just the Summer Sun Celebration. Sure, Princess Celestia's going to be here, and is sending her personal student to oversee the preparations, but what's the worst that could happen?

Written for the Winningverse's AU Month, this story answers the question: "What if Cloud Kicker went with Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie to retrieve the Elements of Harmony instead of Rainbow Dash?"

Thanks to comicfan616 for being nice enough to provide a cover image for my fic!

Because Cloud Kicker is Cloud Kicker, rated Teen, but CK hitting on ponies is about as teen as it gets.

My name is Sweetie Drops. I used to be a spy, until...*"We've got a burn notice on you. You're blacklisted."* When you're burned, you've got nothing: no cash, and no job history, and you certainly can't rely on your special talent. You're stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in. You do whatever work comes your way. You depend on anyone who's still talking to you. Your ex marefriend. An old buddy from the Academy. A slightly insane roommate. And if you're really desperate, family.

Long story short, as long as you're burned, you're going nowhere.
--
Sweetie Drops, now living as Bon Bon, must adapt to life in a seemingly sleepy town, stripped of her job in disgrace after a mission gone bad. But as a mare of action, she can't resist taking the occasional odd job. Besides, she needs the bits. And maybe, just maybe, she'll do a good enough job one day for the Princesses to take notice, and hire her back on as a secret agent.

This is strictly a work of fiction and should not be taken seriously as truth. Respect disabilities and understand that they never wanted them to begin with.
