It's time to wake up Trevor." A voice said as I opened my eyes moving my head towards the voice. "Bout time you woke up Trevor. Don't want to miss your birthday do you." I nodded swinging my feet off of my bed I reached up scratching my head before I began my stretches. I was greeted by the sickening cracks of my joints. "Thanks Matthew." I muttered as I grabbed my cane along with my wallet. "Can we run to the store I need a pack." I threw off my old shirt switching into a new one all of my clothes were the same color. A dark grey or black it matches everything and I blend in as much as possible. "Yea we can just don't forget your glasses." He picked them up off of my nightstand setting them in my hand. "Thanks." I sounded so sad as I slipped them onto my face. "They bothering you Tre-" He began as I raised my hand to stop him. "It's ok let's just go." I tapped my can on the ground once getting a "View" of my surroundings. I walked around my step-father going to the steps placing my hand on the railing feeling the small cuts counting them. 16 steps and 2 landings. I knew this by heart but it always made me feel at ease counting the cuts everyday. I made my way down the steps to the living room where I heard my mother and sister. "Trevor about time you woke up it's 3 in the afternoon." My sister said giving me a hug. "Hey Misty." I said wrapping my arms around her lifting her up into the air she giggled at this. "Did you get all dressed up for your big brother?" I asked her as she kissed my cheek. "I'll take that as a yes." I set her down hearing my mother walk towards me. She always was a soft walker. "Happy birthday Trevor." She said in a light whisper she had a problem with her vocal cords. She couldn't talk above a whisper with out going into a coughing fit which put her in horrible pain. She held out a box to me which forced me to click my tongue to see how big it was. It wasn't that big but I could "See" the bow on it. "Thank you mother." I said smiling. I grabbed the box gently as I unwrapped it I felt the object inside the box knowing what it was immediately. 'Is this Edgar Allan Poe?" I asked as my fingers danced around the object until I felt the brail. "Greatest poems of all time." I said with a smile. It was a new audio book and the one I have been wanting for so long strictly for how long the book was in this tiny pocket version of an audio book was over 700 hours worth of poems I felt inside the box again feeling a small packet. Batteries I would need them. "You have been asking for it since you finished all the others we bought you." She gently clapped her hands together I could tell she was smiling. "Trevor you ready?" My step-father asked as he entered the room. My smile vanished as I turned towards him. "I'll be back in a minute Misty you be good for mother alright?" I held out my pinkie to her she wrapped her pinkie around mine giggling. "I promise Trevor." She said letting go moving back to my mother to help her around the house. "Be safe you two." My mother whispered I nodded as I moved towards the door. -------------------------- The drive to the store was quiet. I didn't have anything against my step-father but he wasn't my real father. My real father passed away when I was younger in a car crash which is also how I lost my vision. I was only 3 do you have any idea what it's like to wake up in a hospital bed knowing that your eyes are open yet all you see is darkness. It hurts in more than one way. "You're being awfully quiet Trevor your not planning something world ending are you?" He joked as we continued to drive. "World domination and all that Mathew." I said turning my head to him. "Nah I'm just reminiscing." I shrugged turning my head back forward. "You know you can call me dad right?" He stated as I felt the car make a turn. "I am married to your mother." I shook my head pinching the bridge of my nose. "Married and blood are two separate things." I muttered. "I don't mean to be rude to you Matthew but in my eyes you are my mother's husband but not my father." I cracked a smile at my little joke. "For being 22 you are way to mature for your age." I chuckled at that. "Anyway we're here." I felt the car come to a stop I was first to get out pulling myself out of the car with a smile on my face. the sun felt great on my skin. I heard the door close as I turned towards Matthew. "I'll be back in a minute just wait here." He said tapping the hood of his car. "Matthew I am 22 now I think I know what to do when left alone in a huge parking lot." He chuckled as he went inside the store. I only turned my head in the sun's direction. "If you stare at the sun you'll go blind." I heard an elderly woman say to me. "Excuse me but that was very rude to say." I said keeping my face tilted towards the sun. "And how would giving a youngster like yourself friendly advice be rude?" She asked as I heard her cross her arms. "Because madam I am already blind." I tilted my cane forward so she could see. My classic white and red cane. "You might not have noticed my cane so I will instead say thank you for the advice. Yet you are a little late in your warning." I chuckled as I heard footstep coming towards the car steps I recognized. I heard an object flying at me which I caught swiftly. "Let's hurry back your mother is cooking for us tonight." I nodded as I opening the door getting in. "Was she bothering you Trevor?" Matthew asked as he buckled his seat belt. "Don't worry about it Matthew." I said as I packed my cigarettes before opening it. I pulled one out lighting it with my zippo. "Let's just get home." I muttered as I took a long drag letting the smoke into my lungs before blowing it out of my nose. "Fine shouldn't take that lo-" Matthew didn't finish that sentence as something slammed into my side of the vehicle. I felt as if I was propelled out of the vehicle but I didn't come in contact with the ground I just continued to fly through the air. A warm light seemed to wrap around me before I came in hard contact with the ground I tumbled and rolled a few times before stopping. ------------------- "You think it's alive?" I heard a voice ask as I layed on the ground it felt as if my body was thrown into a blender. I felt something nudge my side which earned my pokie a groan from me as I tried to sit up. "Hey calm down take deep breaths." The voice said as I placed my hand on my face feeling out the glasses over my eyes. "Hey Rainbow is it ok?" A voice asked in a southern twang. "I think so but it seems pretty banged up like a carriage ran it over." The raspy voice said trying to help me to my feet. "Can you speak how many fingers am I holding up?" I looked at the girl with a dead panned stare. "What? What's that look for I asked you a simple question." I clicked my tongue which allowed me to locate my cane. "I can talk just fine but I can't answer that second question very well." I bent down wincing at the motion. When I grabbed my stick feeling something strange for being in the center of a large city. "Grass?" I muttered in a questioning tone. "Why is there grass in the middle of the city?" I asked myself as I stood back up cane in hand. "And why can't you answer my second question?" The raspy voice asked me. "Rainbow take a gander at it's cane." Said the girl with a southern twang. "It's blind Rainbow can't see a darn thing." The girl said as I heard the raspy voiced woman gasp. "I am so sorry I didn't know I mean it." She sounded like she was freaking out I raised my hand to stop her. "Let's focus on where I am and possible medical attention." I said calmly. "Also. Why are you calling me "It" I am a guy?" I tapped my can down on the ground only hearing a soft thud. "Well it's cuz you don't exactly look like us." The raspy voiced woman said I could hear her scratch the back of her head. "Ok let's focus on that later. Can we go somewhere else this sun is starting to get to me?" I fanned myself with my free hand. "Sure can we'll take ya'll to Twi's she might be able to help ya'll with your situation." I nodded motioning for them to lead the way. When I felt and heard the sound of wings flapping I looked up to the sky. "Some big birds in this area." I said to myself as I began walking after the two girls but something was picking at my brain. "Why is there the footsteps of only one and that flapping of wings is really close to my head?" I looked towards the direction of the flapping listening to it carefully. "So what is your name?" A voice came from the flapping object next to me sounded just like the girl named Rainbow. "Name's Trevor also what is making that wing flapping noise?" I asked her still looking towards the flapping sound. "That would be me I am flying after all." Rainbow said in an arrogant tone. "Can't you tell?" She asked almost like a challenge. "Blind remember." I said as I moved closer to the other girl. "By the way the name's Applejack and it is a fine pleasure to meet you Trevor." The southern twang girl said in a chipper tone. "Alright let's just hurry to this Twi's place so I can try and wrap my head around a few things." I said matching my pace to Applejack's. -------------------------- Twilight was in her library cleaning and organizing with the help of her dragon assistant Spike. "Remember to be very careful with those old books spike they are falling apart and will need to be rebound soon." She announced as Spike moved around the room carrying large stacks of books carefully. "Got it Twilight." He said as he set the old books down in a pile. A knock came to the door. "I got it." Spike said opening the door to see Applejack and Rainbow Dash but there was a third person behind them. He had short sandy blonde hair with pitch black shades on his face. He looked almost alien to the small draconian. Applejack pat the boy on the head as all three of them entered the home. Twilight turned around to see Applejack and Rainbow. "Girls I wasn't expecting to see either of you until later tonight." Twilight said setting down a stack of books. She looked back towards them to see Trevor which made her raise an eyebrow to him. "What is that thing a wild animal from the Everfree Forest?" Twilight asked pointing at him. "He says his name is Trevor and he is also blind." Rainbow said touching down on the ground. "He also doesn't know where he is." Trevor raised a hand in greeting. "Interesting he has no fur covering his boy except for the head." Twilight walked forward placing her hands on his glasses about to remove them. Trevor's hand grabbed her wrist stopping her. "Never try to remove a blind man's glasses it is extremely rude." Trevor let go of her hand returning it to his side. "I'm sorry." Twilight said as she looked at the side of his head. "Ears on the side of the head instead of on top of the head and don't seem to swivel or move from their position." Twilight grabbed a scroll and a quill writing down her findings. "Face seems to be flat with a small nose." She walked around Trevor. "No tail, wings, or horn." She stopped writing which made Trevor look towards her. "Something wrong miss?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "Can you tell me what species you are?" She asked calmly. "Isn't it obvious I am human." He seemed to be getting more questions than answers. "Well I guess we have a lot to discuss then Trevor." Twilight said showing him to a chair. > Part 2: A Strange Sight > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 2: A Strange Sight By: Major Frostwing Trevor was sitting in the library unmoving. "You think he is going to be alright Twilight?" Rainbow asked her as they watched Trevor just sit in the chair staring at nothing. "How long has he been sitting there Darling?" A girl asked watching the man closely. "Ever since I told him where he was and what we are he hasn't spoken or moved." Twilight said as A pink haired girl move her hand in front of Trevor's face trying to get his attention. "Pinkie he can't see what your doing." Twilight said with a sigh at what her friend was doing. "Plus it is quite rude to mess with him like that." The purple haired woman said calmly. "Oh come on Rarity he has some weird ability to tell when something is near according to Rainbow Dash." Pinkie said as she waved her hand in front of Trevor again. A light knock came to the door which was answered by Spike. A woman with coral hair entered the room walking lightly through the room towards the others. For the first time in half an hour Trevor moved his head towards the walking woman. "Hello..." Said the girl in a light whisper. Trevor stood up suddenly looking towards the woman. "Mother is that you?" He asked as he walked towards the woman only to hear her move away from him hearing her squeak in fear. "I can tell your still in the room please say something." Trevor seemed to be in tears even though the woman in front of him wasn't his mother. "Trevor that's Fluttershy not your mother." Twilight said placing a hand on his arm to stop him. "Take a seat please you are making her uncomfortable." Trevor sighed moving back to his seat sitting down. "I'm sorry she walks and talks just like my mother." He said holding his cane close to him. "I'm sorry miss Fluttershy I guess I am just not used to being in this new world." Pinkie waved her hand in front of his face once before he grabbed her wrist. "Pinkie, enough, it's becoming annoying." He said before releasing her arm. He heard a strange deflating noise coming from Pinkie. "So why were you just sitting still for so long?" Rainbow asked as he looked towards her. "Just trying to keep my mind together is all." He said as he moved his hand through his hair. "But oh well." He clicked his tongue to see his surroundings. "I can see where most of you are except for two." He said with a chuckle. "But your blind how can you see us?" Rarity asked genuinely interested. "Imagine a bat and how they see at night." He clicked his tongue again. "Echolocation is something a few blind people in my world have learned to use to see our surroundings." He chuckled happily. "It's a lot of fun to use." He heard someone move towards him. "Announce yourself when approaching a blind man." He said calmly only to hear an eep. "I'm sorry... I didn't know..." She was distressed. Trevor waved a dismissive hand. "I just wanted to know what happened to your eyes... If you don't mind my asking..." Trevor tapped his cane on the floor. "It was an accident in my world many years ago where something entered my eyes bleaching my eyes until it damaged my eyes beyond repair." He removed his glasses opening his eyes to show them. There were scars around his eyes along with the fact his eyes had no color to them except a light grey almost pure white. "My eyes can not be fixed and I am stuck being blind for the rest of my days." He smiled like a child as he slipped the glasses back onto his face. "What's it like?" Twilight asked trying not to sound rude. "Well the simplest way to put it is dark... very dark." Trevor then snapped his fingers. "Actually Twilight can you make some blind folds so no light can go through them?" He asked smiling. "Of course." "Go grab them and blind-fold everyone in the room then I will walk you through a simple day as a blind man." Twilight left the room with some sort of pep in her step. ---------------- A few minutes later everyone was blind-folded sitting down in chairs. "Alright can any of you see at all?" Trevor asked calmly. A collective of snaps occurred to signal they couldn't see at all. "Alright here we go all of you stand up slowly and then tell me one at a time where you are in the room." Spike was the one to guide them to their chairs which were spread all throughout the room. They all stood slowly looking around the room then Trevor heard a click of a tongue. "I'm really close to the door..." Fluttershy said quietly. Rainbow and all the other had basically the same answer. Not a god damn clue where they were in the room. Trevor laughed when he heard two of them run into each other when he told them to try walking around the room. Eventually the blind folds came off. "It must be difficult for you Trevor going through this every day." He only smiled. "It's cool I have been living with this for 19 years you get used to it after a while." He said standing slowly. "But oh well can't fix it so I'll live with it." Trevor stretched before picking up his cane. "Twilight do you have some place I can practice?" "Practice what?" "Well I do fencing and I like to practice to keep my reaction times sharp an my form up." Twilight shrugged leading Trevor outside the others followed after them. ---------------------- Trevor stood in the backyard of the library holding his cane firmly in both of his hands he twisted it before drawing his blade. He held the blade out in front of him. His breathing became slow and precise holding his form unmoving. Rainbow picked up a stone throwing it at him Trevor suddenly moved slicing the stone out of the air. "Well don't just stop like that keep it up." A few minutes later the girls were throwing fruit at Trevor which he deflected or sliced out of the air completely. Trevor caught the next object thrown at him before standing up straight he looked to the sky behind him he parried the attack that came at him. which happened to be a guard clad in armor with a blade similar to Trevor's except it had a hand guard. "Cloud Kicker?" Applejack said before the guard launched forwards at Trevor swinging her blade which was blocked with ease. "Can I help you miss?" Trevor asked as the woman shifted her blade trying to stab Trevor in the face which resulted in Trevor pushing her off with a shove. "Come on I'm not even trying." Cloud Kicker swung again to be blocked and parried. When Trevor attacked he was met with the same blocks and parries. "Pretty good with that blade of yours." Cloud Kicker said as the battle continued. A small crowd began to gather seeing the battle being waged. The lieutenant Cloud Kicker Versus The strange creature with sun glasses. Neither was struck by the others blade for a good while until they both froze in place Cloud Kickers blade was frozen next to Trevor's neck but Trevor's blade was in the center of her chest. "Not a bad match miss." Trevor stood up straight sheathing his blade in his cane locking it in place. "Where were you stationed to be so skilled with that blade?" Cloud Kicker asked sheathing her own blade. "I wasn't stationed anywhere I just learned how to wield a blade so I could prove that I could use my disadvantage as an advantage." Cloud Kicker looked at his strangely. "I am blind after all." At that knowledge Cloud Kicker's jaw dropped. She was being fought against on equal footing by a man who could not see. "But how can you tell where I was striking?" Cloud Kicker asked as the crowd dispersed with the help of Twilight and her friends. "Simple I could hear your blade swinging through the air." Trevor walked to her placing his hand on her shoulder paldron. "That and your armor clinks together when you are about to strike simply by listening I can tell which arm was swinging and where the strike was coming from." Trevor chuckled tapping her shoulder before walking past her. "What is your name?" Cloudkicker asked turning to face Trevor. "I must know." "Trevor." He said with a smile. "Just Trevor." He clicked his tongue noticing the door wasn't that far away from him. "I look forward to a rematch miss." Trevor moved into the house leaving everyone standing outside. Cloudkicker turned to the others seeming to have a light blush on her face. "Cloudkicker are you blushing?" Rainbow asked with a mischievous smile. "What!? No! Me blushing unheard of it's just hot is all." Cloudkicker began to fan herself. "The mistress of the bedroom is blushing now that's new." Rainbow said elbowing Cloudkicker in the side in a light-hearted manner. Cloud kicker only continued to redden at the constant thought of the newcomer before she finally couldn't take it anymore. "So you have the hots for Trevor." Rainbow said chuckling. "IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" Cloukicker took off with a mighty flap of her wings. She rocketed across the sky towards her home. "Well that certainly was unexpected from Cloudkicker." Twilight said looking back towards the tree house. "Indeed darling. Even though I don't approve of her lifestyle her acting flustered is rather new." Rarity said looking towards where Cloudkicker went. "I wonder if Trevor noticed." She looked back to see Trevor leaning against a wall keeping his face forward. All the other girls looked as well. "I'm gonna say... no~." Rainbow said sarcastically but when she finished with her sentence Trevor turned looking straight at her. "Blind not deaf." Trevor said shaking his head before he crossed his arms. Rainbow swallowed nervously Trevor was indeed a strange creature but a very interesting one as well. > Part 3: Stiff Joints And Pained Eyes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 3: Stiff Joints And Pained Eyes By: Major Frostwing Trevor was laying down in a bed in the living room. He sat there just looking towards the ceiling even though everything was dark in his eyes. "I can't sleep." He said taking his headphones and audio book out he plugged his headphones in. He smiled as he heard the voice begin to read the book out to him. Trevor smiled listening to the poems being read to him. He smiled gently listening intently on the words being read to him. Trevor heard the creak of steps leading upstairs. He took one of his headphones out of his ears listening with inhuman intent. The steps creaked once again making his eyebrow twitch with irritation. "I said it once and will say it again announce your entry." Trevor said pausing his audio book. He sat up listening to his surroundings. "Sorry I was coming down to get a snack." Twilight said moving past Trevor into the kitchen. "I thought you were asleep." She said rubbing her eyes she was tired. "I can't fall asleep without my soundproof ear-muffs." He looked over towards the kitchen standing up. "I can hear every leaf and branch moving outside this place it's all so loud at night." Trevor took a seat at the kitchen table placing his hands on his head. "I can't sleep with it being so loud." Trevor heard a burner being turned on. "I'll make us some tea." Twilight said as she began the process of making tea. "Earl grey or sleepy time?" She asked with a smile Trevor lifted his head looking off in the distance. "Earl grey sounds perfect right about now." He said with a gentle chuckle. "You don't mind if I listen to something right now?" He said turning his audio book back on. "Not at all just make sure it isn't loud." She said finishing up the process of making the tea she just needed to boil the water. "It wouldn't be loud you won't even hear it." Trevor said pressing play on the book the words began to flow once again. "This is my favorite poem." He whispered the strength behind the words hitting his soul. Twilight continued to watch Trevor as he listened to something from a strange little box he held in his hands tenderly. He had his eyes closed the entire time but she noticed little twitches in his eyes until she saw tears stream down his cheeks. She was about to ask him if something was wrong but he reached up wiping the tears away as if they were nothing. He suddenly paused the audio book looking over towards Twilight. "The water is beginning to boil." Twilight broke out of her trance looking to the pot a gentle boil began on the pot. "Shouldn't take much longer now." Trevor smiled to her which made Twilight smile as well. She went to the kettle when it was about to come to a full boil she moved it off the burner filling up the tea pot. Letting the tea mix she set the tea set on the table. "Here you are Trevor." Twilight set the cup in front of him filling it with the warm liquid. "Careful it is still hot so please be cautious." Trevor nodded before picking up the cup gingerly before taking a deep breath of the aroma. "Thank you Twilight it means a lot to me." Trevor took a gentle sip. "Think nothing of it Trevor." Twilight smiled taking a cautious sip of her tea. "I might be able to enchant some ear-muffs so you can sleep Trevor." Trevor smiled as he took another sip. ---------------------------- Trevor awoke the next morning to absolute silence he felt such peace as he sat up. "I love moments like this." Trevor muttered pulling off his ear-muffs to hear the outside world. The birds chirped along with the sound of the tree around him. "Yo Trevor." Spike said walking towards Trevor. "Did you sleep good?" Trevor cracked his joints smiling. "It was alright I guess I kinda want to go outside today." Trevor said getting to his feet. "Know a place where I can get a massage?" Spike thought closely. "Yes there is a spa in town that you can go to." Spike said with a smile. "The problem is you have no money." Trevor placed his hand to his chin nodding. "True I don't know what I am going to do." Trevor said with a sigh. "I can spot you if you want." Spike said picking up Trevor's cane placing it in his hand. "Massages do not cost that much anyway." Trevor shook his head. "No I do not wish to burden you with my problems. Do you mind if I go outside though I don't want to get twitchy from cabin fever?" Spike heard his last words a little more closely than the others. "Cabin fever sounds like a painful disease." Trevor chuckled at his words. "No it is not a real disease just a figure of speech. It means that I will become extremely bored eventually and begin to turn coat hangers into mini catapults to bide my time." Trevor patted the small dragon boy on the head smiling. "Maybe you can show me around town so I can get a mental map in my head." Spike let out a small laugh. "Sure let me just tell Twilight." Spike ran up the stairs towards Twilight's room. "Spike think you can help me organize the library today?" Twilight asked writing something down most likely a list for her day. "Actually Trevor and myself were going out today so I can show him around town." Spike scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Would you mind if I go show him around town?" He asked almost pleading with her so he could get out of his chores. Twilight thought long and hard about it. On the first hand Trevor could try and make friends in town. On the other hand their help could allow her to do more with her day. Sadly she knew that making her guest do work would be rude to him. She finally sighed in defeat looking up to Spike. "Fine you may go out today. Enjoy your day off but tomorrow I want you to work twice as hard." Spike groaned knowing what that would entail Twilight adopted a devious smile. "Of course you can stay and work right now." Spike raised his hand shaking them. "No no no I will work hard tomorrow." He smiled nervously before running out of the room. Within the next few minutes Spike and Trevor left the library on their way through town going towards the spa first. ---------------------------------- Trevor and Spike were walking through town Trevor was only listening to his surrounding closely from the light buzz of the people around him. The words they said bothered him greatly. "What is that thing?" A man whispered. "Is it a new breed of monster?" A woman asked someone. "It's blind might be one of those diamond dogs." A man said. "Stay away from that thing son it might be dangerous." Trevor finally stopped moving pulling out a set of headphones plugging them in. He turned on his book listening to the poems. He began to move his cane following the last place Spike was heard. Trevor felt something grab his shoulder which made him pause. He was sure he heard a female voice. Pulling out his headphones he only heard the last of what the female said. "-Darling?" Trevor recognized the voice immediately. "I'm sorry Rarity what did you say?" He asked turning around to hear her better. "I asked where are you going darling?" She asked with a smile that was wasted on Trevor. "Spike was showing me to the spa." Trevor smiled gently to Rarity. "Though I do not have money if I ever come in possession of some money I would be able to get a massage." "Oh I know the owners I'm sure I can get you a massage." Rarity said with a bounce of her hair. Trevor was about to protest but Rarity stopped him with a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I will not take no as an answer Trevor think of it as a welcoming gift." Trevor sighed knowing that arguing will only get him nowhere. "I will accept your generosity Rarity thank you." Trevor said with a gentle bow. Rarity giggle taking hold of his hand leading him into the spa. --------------------------------- "Welcome Miss Rarity are you here for your appointment?" One of the two twins behind the counter asked. "Who may your guest be and is he here for an appointment?" The other sister asked after her twin. "I am here for my appointment and his name is Trevor he will be joining me today add him to my bill." Rarity smiled leading Trevor. "Rarity you don't have to pay for me." He said trying to get her to reconsider. "Nonsense I am paying and that is that." Rarity smiled as one of the twins walked up to Trevor showing him to the male changing room. The changing room felt rather large to Trevor and the sister hadn't noticed that Trevor felt very lost in the unknown building. "The towels are in that corner and you may use any locker you wish." She was about to leave when Trevor stopped her. "Is something wrong?" She asked cautiously. "Can you show me to the towels and to a corner locker?" She looked at Trevor confused until she saw his cane. "Oh I'm sorry I hadn't noticed you were bl-" Trevor stopped her shaking his head. She nodded moving Trevor to the towels he grabbed one and a robe. When he was at his locked he set his cane against it. "Thank you miss." Trevor said with a smile. "I can take it from here." The woman bowed closing the door to the locker room. Trevor opened the locker changing quickly folding his clothes with dedicated care. He wrapped his robe around him throwing his towel around his neck. The door opened suddenly which made Trevor draw his blade from his cane holding it only a millimeter from the masseuses face. "Do not do that ever again." Trevor said coldly moving his blade back into it's sheath. The woman was staring at Trevor the terror evident on her face. "I-I'm sorry..." She stuttered terrified. "I will show you to the massage table. Trevor nodded tapping his cane on the floor moving towards her as she guided him to a new room. Trevor laid down on a table face down crossing his arms as the woman began to work on his tight and rough back. "My shoulders and neck have a harsh pain can you fix that?" He asked as She moved her hands up to his shoulders working out the knots carefully. "I have to say you have many knots and tightness in your upper back." She began becoming more relaxed as she worked out the knots. "Not to mention the number of scars as if you have been to war." Trevor's shoulders stiffened suddenly but then relaxed just as quickly. "No I was picked on when I was a child for being blind do not worry yourself over them it was long ago." Trevor muttered as a loud sickening pop resounded in the room. Trevor let out a grunt from the pain the pop brought. "God that's much better." Trevor said shakily. "Your shoulder was reinserted incorrectly which is what caused your pain." The woman massaged his other shoulder checking to see if the other was the same. "Good news the other shoulder is fine albeit stiff from over work." She finished her massage shortly after when Trevor stood she noticed the large scars across his chest. She knew better than to ask about them. "I will show you to the hot spring so your muscles can relax." "I never asked your name miss." Trevor said sounding sorry for not asking before. "My name is Lotus Aloe is my twin sister." Lotus said moving Trevor to the hot spring. Rarity was sitting in the spring a towel wrapped around her body relaxing in the hot water. When Trevor entered the room she instinctively moved to wrap herself but stopped herself. "Trevor did you enjoy your massage?" She asked smiling. Trevor took off his robe his towel wrapped around his waist he slowly entered the water taking care of his footing. When he finally settled down in the water he sighed. "Finally got my shoulder fixed." He said with a content smile. "What about yourself Rarity did your massage go well?" The room was silent which unnerved Trevor slightly. "Rarity? You still in here?" He asked listening closely. "Sorry darling I just noticed the scars on your body." She said looking towards his face the glasses were still on his face. "I'm guessing they are from your accident." Trevor nodded lowering his head. "Let's not focus on them and instead let us enjoy this wonderful hot spring." Trevor set his can on the edge of the spring slipping lower into the water. He could feel his muscles relax and loosen from the heat. He lowered his head slightly allowing the water to cover his ears plunging his world into silence. Sleep took him quickly as he relaxed completely. Rarity continued to watch Trevor as he layed in the water that's when he noticed that he had fallen asleep. She nudged him gently waking him from his short slumber he sat back up suddenly from being awoken. When he remembered he was in the spa still he relaxed. "You shouldn't fall asleep in water you might drown." She said slightly concerned for his safety. "Thanks." Trevor said lifting his glasses rubbing his eyes. "I just don't sleep often so I tend to fall asleep at the strangest of times." Rarity giggled at this before standing up in the spring. "I have to go to my next session I expect you to be able to not get into trouble." She said like a parent warning their child that they better behave. "I'm not a child Rarity I can behave." He smiled going back to relaxing. Rarity left the room allowing him to his own devices which only meant for Trevor to sit in the water listening to the water move around him. -------------------------------- A few minutes after Rarity had left the door to the spring opened which in turn made Trevor look to the door placing his hand on his cane. "It is alright." The voice said moving into the water sitting across from him. "It is good to see you once again Trevor the swordsman." Trevor recognized the voice as Cloudkicker. "I am sorry to inform you we can not have our rematch in here for I promised I would cause no trouble." He tapped his can onto the tile floor the echo in the room threw him off a little but he could see his surroundings. "I am not here for a fight I am here to relax just as you." she moved over towards Trevor which was answered by Trevor moving away from her. "Why do you back away?" She asked stopping her advance. "That is not of your concern Cloudkicker." He said annoyed moving out of the water. "I have been in here for to long I wish you good day." The look on his face was that of anger yet sadness could be seen as well as if he had been betrayed before in his life. He picked up his cane moving out of the room when he found the door. He slowly made his way into the locker room finding his locker changing rather quickly forgetting his wallet in the locker as he left. He was angry from her moving towards him like that the memory of what his "Friends" had done to him still fresh in his mind. He placed his hand against his left eye it throbbed as if struck. "Dammit all they aren't like this. They wouldn't pull such a horrible trick like this." He stopped in the hallway placing his hand against it gently. He could feel the tears well up in his eyes at what they had done to him. "Trevor?" Rarity asked concerned for him. "I would like to go home." He said choking back his tears. "Are you alrig-" Rarity began before being cut off by him. "JUST!" Trevor checked his rage lowering it. "Take me home please." He rubbed his eyes of the tears. "Of course Trevor." Rarity took his hand gently leading him out of the spa back to Twilight's. All he wanted to do now was sleep and leave this day and his old memories behind. If not for himself for the others. > Part 4: The Sight I See > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 4: The Sight I See By: Major Frostwing Trevor was finally brought back to the tree house. His cane had slipped out of his hand when he tried to move into the home to fast. He in turn followed after his cane moving his hands around the floor he wasn't thinking and for the first time in a very long time. He... was afraid of the darkness that has engulfed his eyesight. He knocked his hand against his cane knocking it away from him. Rarity moved past him picking up his cane she felt sorry for the human. "Where is it? Where the fuck is it?" He began to cry in frustration. "Trevor." Rarity said placing his cane in his hand which he in turn pulled it close to his body not letting the cane go at all. "Are you alright?" Trevor didn't answer he just sat in silence until he looked up. "Why?" He asked returning his head downward. "What did I do to be cursed like this? Why must I only see darkness?" He tightened his grip on his cane. "Why must I be picked on for something I never wanted?" Rarity couldn't help but kneel down placing a hand on his shoulder but the reaction she got was a violent one. Trevor shoved Rarity away moving backwards from her. "Whose there?" He asked in a panic. "What do you want I have nothing to give you, so just leave me alone." Twilight heard Trevor yelling which made her run down the stairs. "Rarity what is going on?" Twilight asked frantically. She was looking over the scene seeing Rarity getting up and Trevor against a wall frantically looking around the room. "I do not know he just started freaking out." She was now much more concerned for his safety he could hurt someone or himself in this state. "Mommy..." Trevor said in a whisper he eventually slowed down just holding his head. "I'm scared mommy help me. I don't know where I am." Twilight listened walking towards him but when she got close all he did was lash out swinging his cane at her. "STAY BACK!" He yelled keeping her at bay when he heard her step away he went back to holding his head. "Rarity keep an eye on him I am going to grab Fluttershy she can help." Twilight disappeared in a flash of light to get Fluttershy. Rarity continued to watch Trevor mutter to himself. He was like a child right now something had resurfaced in his mind making him forget some of his most important skills. When she took a step anywhere in the room whether it was towards or away from Trevor he would twitch. A second flash of light occured with Twilight and Fluttershy teleporting into the room. Fluttershy took a gentle step towards Trevor which made him look up towards the noise. When she was right next to him his arms returned to his side. "Trevor." Fluttershy said in a soothing whisper. "Mommy." Trevor said wrapping his arms around her midsection. "I was so scared I was all alone." He sobbed into Fluttershy's sweater as Fluttershy comforted him. It was a long time before Trevor went silent having fallen asleep on Fluttershy. "Rarity do you have any idea what would have cause Trevor to act like this?" Twilight asked her still very concerned for Trevor. Rarity looked to Twilight a look of confusion. "I saw him in the hallway of the spa he seemed distraught over something. He seemed to be in a hurry to come back here. Now I can see why but I have no idea what caused this outburst." Rarity said watching Trevor as he slept Fluttershy was petting his head gently. -------------------------------- After a few hours Trevor awoke to the constant noises around him. "What happened." He muttered moving his head around the room listening for anything out of the ordinary. He reached down beside him picking up his cane opening it the familiar sound of the blade sliding out of it's sheath. He let out a sigh sheathing the blade swiftly. "Ok Trevor time to get up." He said to himself as he swung his feet off the bed he was on. When he finally stood he clicked his tongue noticing he was on the second floor of the treehouse. "I hope Trevor recovers." Fluttershy whispered taking a sip of tea. Twilight filled her own cup silently. "So what your saying is after Trevor went to the spa he just started to freak out like a child?" Rainbow asked leaning back in her chair. "I have no idea before I left the spring he was in a good mood but when I saw him next he seemed angry." Rarity sighed looking down at her cup. "He snapped at me when I tried to ask him what was wrong." Applejack clenched her hand into a fist standing up suddenly walking towards the stairs. "Darling what are you doing?" "Ay'm gonna teach that varmint some manners." Applejack made her way up the stairs seeing Trevor standing in the room tapping his cane. "Who is it?" Trevor asked but he only had a split second to react to Applejack's punch which grazed the side of his face. The other girls were coming up the stairs only to see Applejack swing again knocking Trevor to the ground. "Ya'll got some nerve snapping at my friend like that ya varmint." Applejack yelled as Trevor slowly stood holding his cane in a white knuckle grip. "Do you have anything ta say fer yourself?" She asked not noticing the Trevor was shaking in barely controlled furry. Trevor drew his blade about half way before taking a shaky long sigh. The blade was slowly put back in it's sheath. "Can someone please explain why I was just attacked right after I had woken up?" Trevor was still gripping his cane tightly taking deep breaths to calm himself. "Ya'll lashed out at Rarity twice, that does not fly with me." AppleJack shot back Trevor had a look of shock on his face he doesn't recall lashing out at anyone. Then it hit him, Trevor has a condition where in times of unrest and stress he reverts back to the mindset of a child. He does not recall such times as a defense mechanism in his mind to protect himself from what caused his stress. "So I'm here to teach you a lesson." Applejack seized Trevor by his shirt lifting him up. "Applejack I will only ask once for you to put me down." Applejack pulled back her first about to strike when Trevor drew his blade stopping it right next to her neck. A drop of blood formed from the blade being pressed into her neck. "Do not make me repeat myself." Trevor's voice was laced with malice. Applejack understood the situation she was now in and for the first time in a long time. She was afraid for her life slowly Trevor was lowered to the floor when upon touching the ground Trevor sheathed the blade. "Goodbye and I'm sorry." Trevor whispered as he walked around Applejack towards the door all of the girls moved out of his way. "Trevor where are you going?" Twilight asked but Trevor didn't answer he slowly made his way down the steps. "Trevor?" She asked seeing him walk out of the door. Every single one of them except Applejack were confused to his behavior recently it changed so suddenly. Twilight was about to walk to the door when Fluttershy stopped her. "Give him time." She said with a strange determination in her eyes. "He is sorry for acting like that but he will be back when he is ready." Fluttershy let go of Twilight going over to Applejack who was muttering the same thing over and over again. "He is a monster." Applejack muttered as Fluttershy helped her. ----------------------------------------- Trevor roamed the streets of Ponyville lost without a guide but it was night time so small blessings. He didn't know what had caused him to react that way towards a friend. He normally tried to talk things out but he resorted to violence first. "Pathetic Trevor you know better than to just attack someone. There are rules and they are to be followed to the letter." He ran a hand through his hair sighing. "Well it's good to see you still up and about Trevor." A voice came from behind as Trevor froze in place. "Yea I'm doing ok just need to cool my head a little and nothing does that better than a nighttime stroll." He smiled turning to face his speaker. "Good to hear you Cloudkicker." He held out his hand to her. Cloudkicker grabbed his hand shaking it. "Well since you are as lost as a sheep without it's Shepard wanna come to my place and chat I might be able to help you." She wrapped her arm around his shoulders which made him nervous and shy all of a sudden. "That sounds... good." He muttered as Cloudkicker lead him to her home. ----------------------------------------- Trevor and Cloudkicker walked through town in relative silence. Cloudkicker glanced over to Trevor seeing that he was very nervous and uncomfortable. "You ok there Trevor?" Cloudkicker asked with a smile. "Y-yes I am just a little uncomfortable." He scratched the back of his head which Cloudkicker replied with a light pat on his shoulder. "No need to be nervous we are just going to chat for now maybe the more fun activities can happen later." She tapped his shoulder again but Trevor only seemed to freeze in embarrassment. "Never been with a mare before?" She asked trying to tease him but Trevor remained silent scratching the back of his head. Cloudkicker caught on quickly noticing how bad she had just insulted this man. "How is a guy who is an expert swordsman and absolutely cute still a virgin?" She asked as Trevor only seemed to shrink under the question. "No one wants to date a blind man in my world." He shook his head trying to clear it of a certain incident. "Let's move onto a better topic I just don't wanna to talk about it." He said motioning for her to continue walking. "I'm sorry... Yea... Um... Oh, yes how did you learn to use a blade even though you are blind?" Cloudkicker asked walking forward. "I found another man who was blind I do not know how he lost his eyesight or if he was born that way. He taught me how his master taught him through using my hearing to my advantage. You'd be impressed if you knew what I could hear right now." Trevor had a smug smile across his face as they walked. "Quite a few people talking about you and me right now as we are walking." He sighed moving on. "Some people need to keep their curiosity to a minimum." Cloudkicker tapped his shoulder to stop him. "Well we are here welcome to my home." Cloudkicker unlocked the door to her home opening it before walking in. "There's not much in here but it's home." She took off her helmet setting it on a coat rack. "You can take a seat on the couch while I get changed." She walked up a set of stairs to the second floor into her room. Trevor clicked his tongue many times to get a clear map of the room. "Two chairs, a couch, and a coffee table." He moved through the room sliding his cane across the floor finding the couch. "She wasn't lying about not having much in the room but... it feels nice in here like a home should." He lowered his head. "Feels like my house did." He heard footsteps coming down the stairs he was as still as a statue listening intently to the footsteps. "You want some tea Mr. Swordsman?" Cloudkicker asked with a sultry tone. "I would love some." He said trying to ignore the tone she used. "If you have Earl Grey that would be pleasant." Cloudkicker moved past Trevor sliding her hand across his cheek gently. She moved into the kitchen as Trevor sat there on the couch blushing like a little schoolgirl. Trevor drew his sword trying to take his mind off of what Cloudkicker was doing. He pulled a small cloth out of his pocket dragging it across the blade with such care. "So much pain we have caused old friend." He smiled as he dabbed the edge of the blade cleaning it before he moved on with the rest of the blade. "Yet we stay together unwavering and undeterred from danger." Trevor stood swinging the blade once listening to it cut through the air. "I'll need to sharpen you soon." He raised the blade to eye-level smiling to the blade. The blade spun once before being sheathed. "So you talk to your blade?" Trevor jumped at the sudden interruption. "The tea is done." Cloudkicker said setting down a cup on the coffee table before taking her seat on the couch. "Don't worry a few of the true swordsmen in the army talk with their blades." Cloudkicker took a sip of her tea watching Trevor sit down. "I do it as well but you know the reasoning behind the talking with one's weapon don't you?" Trevor picked up his cup taking a sip of it. "I talk to it for a different reason." The cup made a light tap on the table as Cloudkicker and Trevor both set their cups down. "This cane was not my original cane it was given to me when I passed the final test in my training. My master taught me how to fight without hesitation and know how to be a master of the blade." He smiled at the memory. "Yet I feel like I have failed him by tarnishing his blade with innocent blood." Trevor set his cane down on the coffee table. "I was attacked and when I defended myself against the attack by drawing my blade... I didn't stop my blade in time and I put a light cut on the neck of my attacker and friend." Cloudkicker placed her hand on his shoulder consoling him. "It happens Trevor you need to apologize to your friend so they know that you were in the wrong and you acknowledge it." Cloudkicker pat his shoulder again as he leaned forward lifting his cup to his lips. "So you're in the guard what's it like?" Trevor asked with a smile. "Boring most of the time. When the guard arrive on scene they seem to just give up." She sighed running a hand through her hair. "Something tells me to keep an eye on you though." She said slyly. "Probably for the best and I will keep an ear out for you." Trevor returned smiling as well. "Oh pretty cocky aren't you?" Trevor let out a chuckle nodding. "So ever been in a competition for sword fighting?" "Yea I participated in the Olympics in my world won the gold medal as well" Trevor seemed to beam with pride over his success. "Wouldn't mind going into another one see how good this world is at swordsmanship." Trevor held his cane out in front of himself feeling it's weight. "I doubt they will let a blind man compete though." "As long as you can wield a blade on a professional level they should allow you to compete." She pat Trevor on the shoulder thinking of another question to ask him. "So ever had a marefriend?" Trevor almost dropped his cane in shock. "No... Um... I have been single all my life no one can seem to get past the whole can't see thing." Trevor set his cane down on the table with a sigh. "Can't blame them though most people look at a disabled person as beneath them not worth their time. It's a sad way of thinking but they don't know of the hardships of being disabled." He finally shrugged thinking about something else. "I used to chat with people using my friend to help me but once they found out about me being blind they would say the same crap. "It must be so difficult to live like that." And then they would stop talking to me all together." "If they can't see you for you buck them." Cloudkicker stood up walking towards the kitchen. "I'm gonna grab a hard cider you want one?" Trevor didn't even think about it. "Make it a double if you can." He said with a chuckle. ----------------------------------- 6 mugs of cider later... Cloudkicker and Trevor were singing an old drinking tune that they both strangely knew. They were arm in arm swaying to the tune when they were done they giggled and laughed at how silly they were acting. "Trevor I have to say you are one awesome stallion." Cloudkicker said taking a large swig out of her mug. "I mean you who has been blind for most of his life turned it around it an unstoppable force of skill." Trevor nodded agreeing with her. "I'm serious i bet if you were to join a competition you would wipe the floor with those punks." "Wipe the floor? Please I would polish and wax it with them." Trevor let out a hearty laugh which was soon joined by Cloudkicker. "I think there is a competition in Canterlot next month you should enter it." Trevor nodded happy with being able to test his skills once again. "Did I mention that you were really cute?" She asked giggling. "I think you said that once or twice." Trevor said feigning deep thought. "Or was it several times?" He then began to actually count the number of times she said that in his head. "We should go out sometime maybe find you a nice mare there are a bunch in this town that are single." She took another large drink before slamming the empty mug on the table. Trevor only remained silent holding his mug in his hands. "Nah I'm good I don't want to just go out to find some girl who just wants to sleep with me I want something special... Something I could never have." Trevor take a large gulp of his mug finishing it. "I want a relationship something I have to work on to keep going... you know?" Trevor asked looking downwards. "I never tried to go for something like that. It was always one night stands no strings attached just something to get off and then leave." Cloudkicker filled her mug up once again and filled Trevor's as well. "Celestia knows I would like to have something like that but it's hard to throw away a bad habit." She took a drink before sighing. "I know what you mean." Trevor set down his mug pulling a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket putting one in his mouth. "Step outside with me I don't smoke in someone else's home." Trevor stood a little shakily but was helped by Cloudkicker to the door. When they stepped outside Trevor lit his cigarette taking a long drag. "I have been smoking since I turned 18 and have tried everything to quit. It just takes the edge off of my day and allows me to relax." Cloudkicker nodded patting him on the shoulder. "Can't really compare the two though I don't even know what sex is like so what the hell do I know?" He let out a small chuckle taking another drag. "It's fun and feels great but I have never made love only banged." Cloudkicker took a deep breath of the night air. "So what's it like to smoke?" She asked looking at the cigarette in his hand. "Tastes like shit, makes you short of breath, and all around makes you feel like an idiot for starting." Cloudkicker laughed at the last comment. "It's a stupid habit I wish I never started." When he finished his cigarette he tossed it away from the home. Cloudkicker showed Trevor back into her home and to the couch. "Well we all have done our fair share of stupid decisions." Trevor nodded in agreement picking his mug back up. "But we learn from them like everything else." Cloudkicker leaned over onto Trevor's shoulder. "That's what makes us into what we are." She nuzzled his shoulder smiling to herself. "You're drunk." Trevor said with a chuckle and Cloudkicker responded with a light giggle she went strangely quiet as Trevor felt her fall asleep. He smiled to himself setting the mug down on the coffee table. "Come on let's get you to bed." Trevor said lifting Cloudkicker bridal style slowly Trevor made his way to the steps. He traversed them with utmost care for his sleeping passenger. When he finally made it up the stairs he opened one of the doors on his left clicking his tongue. He knew the room was rather large with a long object against the far wall. He made his way over to the bed feeling how soft it was. "Softest bed I have ever felt." Trevor murmured to himself laying Cloudkicker on the bed. She let out a low moan at being placed in her bed. Trevor only smiled moving one of the blankets over her. "Sleep tight Cloudkicker." Trevor whispered before sitting down on the floor next to her bed. He leaned his back against the bed falling asleep with relative ease he would have to go apologize to the girls tomorrow for what he had done. > Part 5: I Am Sorry > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 5: I Am Sorry By: Major Frostwing Trevor awoke with the feeling of warmth in his chest. "Cursed sun how dare you wake me with your warmth." He muttered getting to his feet. He felt sick to his stomach and all around groggy after his drinking binge with Cloudkicker. "Good to see your awake Trevor." Cloudkicker said walking into the room. "I made breakfast if you want any." He nodded taking hold of her hand. "I didn't count the stairs last night mind helping me out?" Trevor smiled to her not seeing her blush like crazy. "S-sure it's the least I can do after you carried me up here last night." She gently squeezed his hand moving down the stairs counting out the stairs as she descended them. "So Trevor how did you know which room was mine?" "I listened when you went to your room yesterday and made a judgement call on which one it was." He said with a shrug Cloudkicker face-palmed laughing. "You are the craziest stallion I have ever met Trevor." Trevor soon joined her laughter unable to control his mirth. "I'm not a stallion Cloudkicker I am a human." Cloudkicker stopped at the Table helping Trevor into a chair. Cloudkicker took her own seat smiling to Trevor. "Why do I find him so interesting he is only another stallion yet he is so different. Almost like an exotic animal." She reached across the table placing her hand on top of his only for his hand to twitch at the touch. "Cloudkicker what are you doing?" Trevor asked calmly. She smiled brushing her thumb against his knuckles feeling how rough they were. "Trevor what does the world look like to you?" She asked continuing to pet his knuckles. "How do you see the world?" "I don't see the corruption of the outside world the ugliness of people I see what everything truly is." He loosened his hand smiling. "I see peoples hearts and the beauty of the world without it being tainted by sight." She ceased her petting standing up slowly. "So what do you see in me?" She asked walking over to him. "I see a woman who wishes to be recognized not for what she does or what she is but for Who she is on the inside. A sweet innocent girl who loves those around her dearly and will fight tooth and nail to protect what she believes. That is what I see in you Cloudkicker." He held his hand out to her which she took gently placing against her cheek. Trevor felt a wetness on her face. "Come now dry those tears a beautiful woman should not cry she should smile." Cloudkicker let out a shaky giggle. "Much better never let your smile waiver." "Dammit Trevor, you sure have a way with words." Trevor raised his other hand patting her on the shoulder. "Mother always said I could see what couldn't be seen." "Well I guess your mother is a very intelligent mare." Cloudkicker smiled lowering his hand from her cheek holding it tenderly. "Do you think you can help me today I need to go visit Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy today. Sadly I don't know where they live and can't really see if I'm close." He scratched the back of his head slightly embarrassed with having to ask for help. "Sure but why do you need to visit them?" Trevor sighed knowing that lying would only cause more trouble. "I need to apologize for how I acted towards them yesterday that is all." Cloudkicker squeezed his hand gently before she began to lead him to the door. "We can eat while we are out let's go do this now." Trevor nodded following Cloudkicker out of the home into town and towards their first destination. ----------------------- Cloudkicker and Trevor arrived at Twilight's library with the door being closed and a sign on it. "Warning: Studying In Progress DO NOT DISTURB!" Cloudkicker read out with a raised eyebrow. "Allow me." Trevor said knocking on the door gently. The door was suddenly thrown open with a very angry looking Twilight her eyes glowing white. "CAN YOU NOT READ THE SIGN!?" She yelled scaring Cloudkicker but leaving Trevor un-phased. "Twilight lower your voice I am right in front of you." Twilight's eyes returned to normal but she continued to glare at him. "Also I am blind can't read the sign. to save my life." Twilight let out a sigh of anger. "Can I help you Trevor?" She asked pinching the bridge of her nose. "I am very busy right now so please make this quick." Trevor nodded before he bowed to Twilight. "I am deeply sorry for the way I acted last night and the trouble I had caused you and your friends." He did not stand until he finished his apology. "I appreciate your apology yet I am not the one you need to apologize to." She crossed her arms annoyed. "Go to Applejack next she is the one you need to talk to." Trevor nodded turning away hearing the door slam shut. "That could have gone better." Cloudkicker said with a sigh. "Yea and I'm blind." Trevor sounded disappointed as can be. "Let's just finish this day up so I can slam my head into pulp against a very hard wall." "I suggest a drink tonight instead of head trauma." Trevor nodded as she led him to Applejack's orchard. ------------------------ Trevor began to smell the faint smell of apples in the air. He knew he was near an orchard but at the same time he felt very out of place in the area. "How much farther Cloudkicker?" He asked listening close to his surroundings. "We just entered the property line for Sweet Apple Acres Applejack should be around here somewhere." Trevor nodded but froze when he heard a strange sound. "What's that sound?" He asked stopping shifting his head towards the sound. "Sound's like a hammer on wood." He said slightly confused. "Your probably hearing Applejack or her brother apple-bucking." Trevor turned to her with a puzzled look. "They kick the trees to make the ripe apples fall from the trees." "Sounds ineffective and painful." He said walking towards the noise. Cloudkicker followed him keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. The sound of kicking got louder as they continued deeper into the orchard. Trevor froze when the thumping stopped. A loud whistling was heard coming towards Trevor to late for him to dodge as the object slammed into his face breaking his glasses and knocking him back onto the ground. "TREVOR!" Cloudkicker yelled kneeling down to him to see if he was alright. Blood was streaming out of his nose his eyes wide open. "Ow. Fuck..." Was all he said sitting up rubbing his head. "What the hell hit me in the face?" He asked placing his hand on his face. "It was an apple from what I saw." "WHAT IN TARTARUS ARE YOU DOING ON MY PROPERTY!?" Applejack yelled stomping forward to Trevor. "COME HERE TO FINISH THE JOB?!" Trevor looked towards the yelling. "Applejack what in Tartarus are you doing attacking Trevor like that?" She asked standing between Trevor and the angry Applejack. "This Varmint right here tried to kill me yesterday drawing his blade on me and everything." She pushed past Cloudkicker grabbing Trevor by his shirt lifting him to his feet. "I have the right to protect my property from a monster." She reeled her fist back before slamming it into Trevor's face which in turn put him back on the ground. Cloudkicker grabbed Applejack from behind locking her arms. "Enough Applejack he didn't come here to fight he came to apologize to you." Cloudkicker swept Applejack's feet out from under her forcing both of them to the ground. They both struggle to restrain and to get out of the restraint. "Cloudkicker let her go." Trevor said standing up slowly. His eyes were already turning black from the earlier hit. "But Trevor she attacked you if I let her go she will attack yo-" "LIEUTENANT CLOUDKICKER!" Trevor boomed suddenly making both Cloudkicker and Applejack jump at the volume. "I said let her go." Trevor said his voice low and dangerous. Cloudkicker released Applejack backing away from her. Applejack rose to her feet warry of what Trevor was going to do. "I let her go Trevor just be careful." He nodded. "What now monster?" Applejack asked angrily. "First off enough of that shit calling me a monster I am a person just like you so treat me like one." Applejack listened her glare not leaving her face. "Secondly I am not here to fight you, hurt you, or kill you. I just want to talk." He raised his hands showing he meant no harm. "Drop the cane and I will believe you." Applejack said calmly. "Cloudkicker." Trevor called to her she snapped her of fingers in response. He tossed his cane towards the noise. "Keep it safe it's all I have." Cloudkicker caught it holding onto it tightly. "You have three minutes." Applejack said but was surprised to see Trevor drop down to his knees bowing his head low to her. "I have tainted my blade with the blood of the innocent and can only beg for your forgiveness for the pain I have caused you." He knew how humiliating this was for him but it was part of the code. "So please Applejack can you ever forgive me for my ignorance and violence?" "I will on one condition." Trevor nodded listening to her condition. "Forgive me for blowing my top like that." "Already in the past Applejack I am not a vengeful man towards my friends." Trevor stood up losing his bearings. "Cloudkicker?" He asked hearing her walk forward handing him his cane. "Thank you I felt so lost without her." He smiled taking hold of her hand. "You should probably go to Fluttershy and get that looked at" Applejack said rubbing the back of her head. "Still sorry about hitting you." "Don't worry about it I barely even felt it." He lied placing his hands against his left eye feeling the pain jump across his entire face. "Go now and get that looked at before it get's worse." Applejack said looking at Cloudkicker. "Can you fly him there?" "Of course." Cloudkicker wrapped her arms around Trevor's chest. "Hang on tight." Trevor did just that as Cloudkicker took off into the air Trevor holding on for dear life. --------------------- When Cloudkicker finally landed Trevor was still holding on tightly. "Trevor I know you like my body but you can let go now." Cloudkicker said giggling. Trevor let go listening to his surroundings. "Next time can we walk I have no bearing of which way to go now?" He heard a door close gently behind him which made him glance over instinctively towards the noise. Cloudkicker took hold of his hand moving him forward towards the sound he heard. Cloudkicker knocked gently on the door it was so faint Trevor barely even heard it. The door let out a soft squeak as it opened a crack. "H-hello?" Fluttershy asked looking out to see Cloudkicker and then noticed Trevor. "Oh my goodness what happened to you Trevor?" She asked placing a hand on his face he winced at the touch. "Well Fluttershy the thing is-" Cloudkicker began when Trevor cut her off. "I fell into a set of stairs face-first I broke my glasses in the process." He lied as if it was what actually happened. Cloudkicker was shocked that he was covering for Applejack. "You poor thing come inside and I will see what I can do." Trevor nodded being led into the home to a couch where he sat down feeling the homeliness of Fluttershy's home. "Wait here as I go get my things." "Thank you Fluttershy." Trevor said smiling to her. A few minutes later Trevor's eyes were wrapped up in gauze keeping them closed. "It should be fully healed in a few days until then please leave the wrapping on." Fluttershy cleaned her hands calmly. "So Trevor can you tell me what really happened to you?" She asked strangely calm. "I fell into a set of stairs that's what happened." Trevor turned towards her smiling. "So please Fluttershy drop it if you will." She stared at him before realizing that the "Stare" would not work. She sighed drying off her hands. "So how do your eyes feel?" "Well I still can't see but the pain has left my eyes and face so better I guess." Trevor shrugged smiling. "Well then it's better than just leaving how your eye looked before." Cloudkicker said with a short laugh. Trevor stood slowly holding his cane in his hands he bowed towards Fluttershy. "Thank you very much for helping me. I also apologize for my actions yesterday evening it was out of character of me." "Think nothing of it Trevor you were just protecting yourself." She smiled sweetly towards him. "Don't hesitate to come back and visit... If you don't mind me saying." "Of course I will come back to visit. Sadly I must leave I have a few more people to speak with before night comes." He turned towards Cloudkicker smiling. "Let's go find Rainbow Dash." Trevor said grabbing her hand gently. "Let's walk this time flying is not for the blind." Cloudkicker let out a nervous laugh before tightening her grip on Trevor's hand. She smiled with a gentle blush gracing her cheeks before they walked out of the home towards a field. This action was picked up by Fluttershy who smiled happily for the two. ------------------------------------ The meeting with Rainbow Dash went as expected. They found her napping on a cloud high above a field. At first she was crabby about being awoken but when Trevor apologized he got the response he knew he was going to get." "Hey Applejack is hot headed sometimes and jumps the shark at times. So don't worry about it as long as my friends forgive you I will to." That left two more people to speak to. Pinkie Pie and Rarity both for some reason made Trevor nervous on how they would react. Pinkie might just brush it away like Rainbow did or she might go ballistic about it. Rarity could either be calm and intelligent about the whole thing or be extremely upset about the whole thing. Trevor swallowed nervously on his way to Pinkie's Cloudkicker at the front. "You have been really quiet since we left Fluttershy's are you nervous?" Trevor only nodded. "Why it's just Pinkie Pie?" "That's what I'm afraid of." Trevor said with a shiver. They opened the door to Sugar Cube Corner Trevor could feel the eyes of a certain pink pony upon him. He gulped a little more than afraid for what was in store. "Trevor it's so good to see you after what happened yesterday how are you I'm fine by the way what happened to your face you look like a mummy are you getting ready for nightmare night that is so cool why didn't I think of that I guess we should get started on costumes would you like a cupcake?" Pinkie said seeming to not need to breathe during the entire long winded speech. "Uhhhhhhh... Sure?" Trevor asked only to feel a soft pastry being shoved into his mouth. "So what did you come here for to apologize to me?" She asked grinning. Trevor swallowed the pastry gasping for breath. "Yes but how did you know that?" "The Author has been thinking about how I would react to you apologizing to me the entire time he has been at work so I came up with my own response." She looked off in a random direction. "Sorry but you took to long Mr. Author." Trevor raised an eyebrow at Pinkie he was about to ask what she was talking about when a voice in his head whispered to him. (Drop it Comrade it's better you don't know.) Trevor heeded the voice's warning and just shrugged it off. "Any-who I accept your apology Trevor we are friends after all. Now hurry along Rarity is waiting for you and Mr. Author has to leave work soon." Trevor opened his mouth to say something but shut it after rethinking about it. "Ok Pinkie we will see you some other time." Cloudkicker said leading Trevor out of the bakery. Next stop Rarity's. The walk to Rarity's was a little quiet with Trevor only asking a few questions about his surrounds or how everything looked in Cloudkicker's eyes. "The clouds look perfect today almost like they are made of cotton." Trevor smiled still holding her hand. "We are here Trevor are you ready?" Trevor nodded slowly taking a deep breath. Trevor knocked on her door. "Coming~." A voice said on the other side of the door. The door opened with Rarity smiling then it vanished when she saw Trevor. "Oh my Celestia, Trevor what happened to you?" She looked towards Cloudkicker looking for answers. "I fell into a set of stairs breaking my glasses in the process last night. I went to Fluttershy's today and got it all fixed." He smiled to Rarity. "Besides that Darling come inside we need to talk." They way Rarity said that he felt off. As Cloudkicker helped him into the boutique they took a seat on the couch. Rarity brought in a tea set setting down a cup of tea in front of Trevor and Cloudkicker. "What happened yesterday?" Cloudkicker asked confused both Trevor and Rarity lowered their heads. "After the spa Trevor had a breakdown I'm not sure what all happened before I saw him outside the locker room. All I know is that he was very angry and sad." Rarity said looking to Cloudkicker. "But Trevor stormed out of the Hot Spring for some reason I don't know why." Trevor picked up the tea cup slowly taking a sip silently. "Trevor?" Rarity asked only for him to set down his cup. "I will not speak about the reason why I stormed out. All I know is I thought you were trying to make a move on me. Just so you could make fun of me." Trevor said calmly. "I'm sorry Trevor." Cloudkicker said calmly taking hold of his hand which he squeezed gently. "It's ok I'm still damaged is all and will take sometime to get over but it will happen." Rarity watched the two taking notice of something. Cloudkicker was smiling and blushing while she watched Trevor. She smiled slyly. "Cloudkicker do you mind if I speak with you for a minute?" Rarity asked seeing both of them perk up at her speaking. "Um sure I don't see a problem with that." Cloudkicker rose to her feet letting go of Trevor's hand. She followed Rarity up the stairs to her work room. When the door closed Rarity turned towards Cloudkicker. "So Cloudkicker do you have feelings for Trevor?" Rarity asked with a smile. Cloudkicker blushed madly at the question. "I have no idea what you are talking about Rarity." She looked away trying to hide her blush. "Oh come now darling I can see your practically head over hooves in love with him. I do have to say he is quite the catch but are you just trying to lay with him or do you want something more?" Cloudkicker scratched the back of her head nervously. "So what did he do to tame you like this?" Rarity asked placing her hands on her hips smiling. "We just talked last night about standard things like past loves and everything." She pressed her fingertips together nervously. "He also talked about what he saw in people and explained the real me to the letter." Rarity smiled sweetly to her. "He is such a sweet guy and I am so sorry for him everyone treated him like dirt for a disability he didn't want." Her hands clenched into fists. "But he is such a good guy why would they treat him like that." Rarity placed a hand on Cloudkicker's shoulder. "It's ok Darling." Rarity said calmly before wrapping her in a gentle hug. "Just don't lose him and keep him safe." Cloudkicker nodded before there was a scream coming from downstairs. Cloudkicker and Rarity rushed out of the room to see a little foal in the corner of the room and Trevor on the other side of the couch holding his cane tightly. "Trevor what is going on?" Cloudkicker asked Trevor looked towards her. "I don't know someone screamed I hopped the couch." Trevor said shakily. "Sweetie Bell." Rarity said walking down the stairs towards the small foal. "It's ok that's Trevor he is a friend it's ok." She hugged her sister calming her. Cloudkicker helped Trevor to his feet. "Who is Sweetie Bell?" Trevor asked looking towards Where he last heard Rarity speak. "Sweetie Bell is Rarity's little sister." Trevor's ears perked up to that. "Can she come over here for a second I would like to meet her?" Trevor knelt down. Rarity helped her sister up walking her towards Trevor. "It's ok Sweetie Bell he is not going to hurt you." Rarity said in a soothing tone. "Just tell him when you are in front of him so he knows." Sweetie Bell nodded stopping in front of him. "Hello Mr. Trevor." She said almost completely shy of him. "Hello Sweetie Bell." He extended his hand out to her which she took hesitantly. "How old are you Sweetie Bell?" He asked continuing to smile. "I am 11 years old." She was opening up to him albeit slowly. "Really now my sister is 11 as well are as much of a trouble maker as she is?" He asked joking with her. "No I'm a good kid." "That's what she would say to me as well although she would get into trouble all the time." Sweetie Bell giggled. "What is your sister's name?" Trevor froze remembering that he will never see her again. "Her name is Sara and she was very pretty." "Ok Sweetie Bell go upstairs and play." Sweetie nodded to her sister running upstairs to play. Trevor stood placing his hands on the bandages where his eyes would be. "You ok Trevor?" Rarity asked. "Yes just remembered I'm no longer home and won't see her ever again." Cloudkicker grabbed his hand gently. "I'm alright." He sighed sniffing once. "Can we go back to your house Cloudkicker?" "Of course Trevor." Cloudkicker began leading him out of of the boutique. "I am sorry for yesterday Rarity." "It's ok Darling just please be safe from now on please for Cloudkicker." Trevor looked back to her with a raised eyebrow. "I will Rarity." Trevor smiled leaving the boutique returning to Cloudkicker's home. > Part 6: Black Sleep And Lunar Light > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 6: Black Sleep And Lunar Light By: Major Frostwing Trevor awoke with a start a nightmare was attacking his mind the memory of the crash attacking him at his core. He placed his hand against face taking a deep breath but then he noticed something there was a strange echo around him. He moved his head around listening. Nothing not even the sounds of the world around him no birds chirping or people walking by. Even the home was silent around him. "Where the hell am I?" He asked himself he felt the bandages on his eyes. They felt constrictive on his face slowly he removed them opening his eyes. A light invaded his eyes forcing him to raise his arm to shield his eyes. "Wait a second." Trevor said to himself thinking. "I am blind yet I can see the light before me... I must still be asleep I'm not blind in my sleep." He said to himself lowering his hand to see the light. "I see I was able to bring you out of such a deep sleep." The female before him said. Trevor looked at her closely noticing she had a horn and wings. She was wearing a long flowing black dress almost like something a Greek goddess would wear. Not to mention her hair was long and flowing almost like the living night sky. She had a layer of navy blue fur not to mention she had the face of a horse only softer not to mention her eyes were huge in proportion to her face. "Well then you seem like one of the people that saved me a few days ago from what they tell what they look like." Trevor held onto his cane standing up. "What do you mean from what they told you? You can see me just fine right now." Trevor asked smiling. "Well I am a blind man I can only see when I sleep but as you can see." Trevor motioned around him. "I have a very poor understanding of what my surroundings look like even my face." That's when The woman noticed what most of his body looked like. Almost like static with a rough outline only his clothes look well defined a flat black T shirt and a pair of dark grey jeans. "Is unknown to me now." Trevor put his hands on his cane tapping it on the ground in front of him. "But I can show you what it "Looks" like to me." He snapped his fingers objects began to form around him a lamp, a couch, a set of stairs going nowhere, a set of walls , and finally a door. All of the objects looked hazy and dark grey but stood out against the black background. "I see." Trevor let out a short laugh at her choice of words. "I must ask though what is your name?" She crossed her arms waiting. "I am Trevor." He bowed to the woman smiling. "May I know your name madam?" "My name is Princess Luna one of the rulers of Equestria." She said proudly. Trevor extended his hand to her Luna only looked at the hand wearily. "It might be made of static but I assure you it is my real hand." Luna took his hand hesitantly to her it felt like her hand fell asleep at the touch. "I must also ask why you are here you are not something created by my mind since I can't imagine anything such as yourself?" "Yes I watch over everyponies dreams when I saw yours it was strange that it had two levels of sleep in it. I could not enter your second level but was able to pull you out to this level." Luna explained letting go of his hand. "It was a memory I relive every now and again." He shrugged holding his cane. "Any way I would rather have this conversation in person not like this maybe then you can tell me what all is going on with me being here." Luna nodded watching the male carefully. "I will ask Cloudkicker to take me to Canterlot tomorrow so we can speak can you arrange this?" Trevor asked with a smirk. "I can have it arranged so I expect you tomorrow now time to wake up." She was about to snap her fingers when Trevor stopped her. "I might get stopped by your guards so I will have them relay a message to you so you know it is me." She nodded listening. "The Blind Are Not So Blind." He smiled. "That will be my message." Luna nodded snapping her fingers the room was engulfed in light. Trevor awoke back into his world of darkness. ------------------- Trevor was being led by Cloudkicker to the train station. "So tell me again Trevor why do you need to go to Canterlot today?" Trevor had removed his bandages when he awoke. He kept his eyes closed and according to Cloudkicker the bruising was gone now. He would have to thank Fluttershy when he returned. "I told you before I have a meeting at the castle today." He said smiling. A train's whistle sounded and Cloudkicker picked up the pace through the ticket booth. They boarded the train just before it left finding a set of seats. "Who called you to speak with them only two ponies would want to speak with you but you had no contact with either of them." Cloudkicker held onto Trevor's hand judging his reaction. "Princess Luna came to me last night in my dreams and I asked for a few words with her." Trevor leaned his head back sighing. "I'm going to get a quick nap before we arrive please awake me when we get there." Cloudkicker sighed as Trevor drifted off to sleep. ------------------------ Cloudkicker awoke Trevor gently seeing that he leaned forward rubbing his eyes she smiled. "We are here Trevor we have a bit of a walk ahead of us." Nodding he stood when he was about to grab Cloudkicker's hand he turned suddenly listening. It sounded as if someone whispered into his ear. "I'm coming." Trevor repeated to himself. "That didn't like someone near me said that it was directly in my ear." He continued to think about it until Cloudkicker grabbed his hand. "Trevor you alright you seem as if you just saw a ghost." Trevor shook his head thinking. "Just thought I heard something let's hurry." Cloudkicker squeezed his hand unsure of his answer but led him off of the train car. They walked towards the castle with Cloudkicker helping Trevor avoid other people. Even though Cloudkicker was being careful Trevor accidently smacked a man in the shin with his cane. Trevor stopped moving turning towards the man. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to strike you with my cane." He bowed to the man in apology. "Do you have any idea who I am what you just did could be classified as assault." The man spoke with a posh accent that made Trevor's stomach turn in revoltion. "Guards this man just attacked me." The man called out. "Seriously it was an accident I did not mean to hit you." Trevor said standing up straight. "Then you should have been walking with your eyes open instead of keeping them closed. Maybe a night in the dungeon will teach you to look at what your doing." The man smiled smugly looking down on Trevor. "I think the one who is blind is you sir." Cloudkicker said stepping forward as the guards arrived. The guards halted upon seeing Cloudkicker. "This man eyes open or closed would not be able to see you and thus what happened was an accident." "I fail to see how he could not see a noble such as myself." Trevor snickered catching the man's attention. "Is something amusing to you peasant?" He yelled in anger. "Yes something is indeed amusing to me." Trevor regained his composure. "That someone with so little intelligence could become a noble. You can even see that I am indeed blind." Trevor opened his eyes to show the man. "The weird thing is I am happy I am blind right now. For seeing what you are would make me gouge out my own eyes." Trevor closed his eyes once again smiling. "Now then Cloudkicker can we continue towards the castle I am afraid this man's ignorance may be contagious." Cloudkicker nodded leading Trevor back towards the castle. "I see your sword isn't the only sharp thing you have." Trevor laughed walking with her. "My step-father would always say the same thing." He shrugged smiling. "I never knew why I just happen to be very witty and smart." Cloukicker joined him laughing. It didn't take them long for them to get to the castle the problem was getting into the castle. "What do you mean we can't get into the castle?" Cloudkicker asked. "I'm sorry ma'am we are just following the captain's orders. For some reason we are to be on our guard for anything suspicious and the stallion next to you is definitely suspicious." One of the guards said pointing towards Trevor. Cloudkicker was about to say something when Trevor stopped her. "Can you relay a message to Princess Luna for me?" The guard looked at him confused. "Just a simple little message would only take a few seconds to complete." The guard nodded unknowing of Trevor's condition. "Seriously getting sick of people not noticing I am blind you have to speak." Trevor let out an annoyed sigh. "I can relay the message just tell me what it is." Trevor smiled. "The Blind Are Not So Blind." Trevor said tapping his cane on the ground. "That is my message to her." Cloudkicker looked at Trevor confused at his message. "I will be back in a moment." One of the guards said rushing off into the castle another guard took his place. Trevor tapped his cane whistling a tune. Cloudkicker whispered to Trevor softly. "20 bits says we get turned away." Trevor smirked. "Sure you don't need that money anyway." Cloudkicker tapped him in the shoulder with her fist. "WHY ARE THEY STILL AT THE GATE SHOW OUR GUESTS IN!" Trevor smiled holding his hand out to Cloudkicker. "I'll take that 20 bits now." Cloudkicker slugged him the arm again before putting a 20 bit note in his hand. "Pleasure doing business with you." Trevor said with a snicker as they walked into the castle. "You cheated Trevor I swear you did." He only shrugged. --------------------------- Trevor entered the throne room with Cloudkicker it was huge with a very high ceiling. "Welcome Trevor it is good to see how you really look." Trevor turned his head towards the voice. "And it is good to hear from you once again Princess Luna." Cloudkicker was to a degree blown away that Trevor knew Luna. "Cloudkicker can you leave the room for a minute Trevor and myself need to speak with each other?" Luna asked walking towards Trevor. Cloudkicker was about to let go of his hand when Trevor tightened his grip. "I would rather keep Cloudkicker at my side she helps me get around with better ease." Trevor smiled feeling Cloudkicker tighten her own grip on his hand. "Very well we just need to run a few tests on you residual magic and such." Trevor nodded letting go of Cloudkicker's hand he sat down on the ground Indian style his cane laid across his lap. Luna surrounded him in her magic. "What the-" Luna severed her magic watching it as it continued to hover around Trevor before being absorbed into him. "Strange he was absorbing my magic the second I started analyzing him." She put her hand under her muzzle thinking. "What is it Princess did you find out anything?" Trevor asked calmly. "A strange magic brought you here indeed almost as if it tore you from your world tossing you into ours." She continued to ponder this new data. "I will have to speak with my sister about this." Trevor stood brushing himself off. "Princess one last thing." Luna looked up from her thoughts. "Can you show me what I look like?" He asked walking towards her he stopped in front of her. Luna raised her hand placing it on his forehead an image flashed in his mind. The image was of a man who looked to be 22 he was tall just over 6 foot tall lean build with what looks like very little muscle. He had short sandy blonde hair and was wearing a black T shirt with dark grey jeans. "I always thought my hair was longer." He joked smiling a single tear rolled down his cheek. "Thank you Princess you have no idea what this means to me." Luna patted him on the head smiling. Cloudkicker grabbed a hold of Trevor's hand which was welcomed by Trevor. "It might take a few days for my sister and myself to find out what brought you here both of you are welcome to stay in the castle until then." Luna said walking out of one of the large double doors. Cloudkicker looked to Trevor who was still smiling. "How about I take you out to dinner like I promised?" Trevor looked to her. "That sounds pleasant Cloudkicker." She began to lead him out of the castle towards a restaurant she knew very well. > Part 7: The Champion and The Passenger > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 7: The Champion And The Passenger By: Major Frostwing Trevor awoke it had been a week since his talk with Luna both of the princesses have yet to give him any information on his predicament. He sighed moving his hand through his hair. "Come on Trevor big day today." He smiled sitting up in his bed. A knock came to the door making Trevor flinch. "Enter." The door opened to the familiar footsteps of one Cloudkicker. "Morning sleepy head." She said walking over to him grabbing his hand. "Come on let's hurry." She was very chipper and to Trevor it both made him smile and scowl at her being so chipper so early in the morning. "What's the rush Cloudkicker?" Trevor asked as he was ripped from the bed towards the door. "Isn't it obvious? Today is the sign ups for the swordsmanship tournament." Trevor was then the one pulling Cloudkicker along listening to everything around him and practically running through the halls. "Trevor slow down do you even know where you are going?" Trevor only smirked as he turned down a hallway moving past a guard patrol and out onto the streets of Canterlot. He continued to move through the groups of people he was excited which made his blood pump and his adrenaline to spike. He heard everything around him from the cobblestones crunching under his feet to the bit coins in peoples pockets. He suddenly came to a stop when he heard pencil on paper. "Hey Cloudkicker am I close to the sign up booth?" He was heaving and panting from all the running. "Yea you are how the hay did you know where it was?" Trevor only smiled. "I just knew." Cloudkicker deadpanned at him. "You just ran in a random direction didn't you?" "When you say it like that you take away all of the magic from it." He frowned at her which made her giggle. "Oh I need something before the first match comes up." They walked forward to the sign up booth. The man at the booth was finishing up some work on the last entrant. He glanced up to see Trevor and Cloudkicker. "Ahh Lieutenant Cloudkicker are you here to sign up for the tournament?." He pulled out a form ready to fill it out. "You going for the master level this time?" He asked smiling. "I'm going for advanced again need to polish my abilities before I take on the masters." She smiled looking to Trevor who was in deep thought. "But my friend Trevor is entering the tournament as well." Trevor broke out of his trance looking to her with a smirk. "Oh I will bring out a novice form." Trevor chuckled. "What are you saying you up to par with the higher ranks?" "Pull out a master entry form and begin filling it out I want a challenge." Cloudkicker was about to stop him when Trevor suddenly turned towards his right. "Well then I guess we have another challenger who wants to join the big leagues." Cloudkicker noticed who it was and saluted sharply. "Captain Shining Armor sir." Trevor raised an eyebrow to her before looking to the captain. "At ease Lieutenant." The Shining looked Trevor over he didn't seem impressed but something about this man scared him. "You do know the master level battles have no dulling enchantments on the blades. Not to mention magic is allowed do you think you have what it takes to deal with all that." Shining's tone was a challenge to Trevor. "I am sorry to have to kick you off your cloud captain but I don't lose." Trevor smirked turning towards the man at the booth. "The name is Trevor I dual wield and I use no magic only skill." The captain raised an eyebrow to the strange man in front of him. "Can you sign this form saying we are not to be held responsible for any injury." Trevor turned towards Cloudkicker who signed his name on it. "Um Lieutenant he needs to sign the paper." "Sadly I can't right now I had some eye surgery recently and I am unable to see right now she has been helping me with basic things." The judge nodded before taking back the form. "The tournament begins in one month at the Colosseum make sure you have all weapons at the ready and any gear you will be using for the tournament. If you do not have important gear before you enter you will not be able to leave the Colosseum until the tournament is over." Trevor nodded listening closely. "It allows us to monitor the contestants so no one can cheat during the tournament." "You can still back out it's not to late." Shining said smiling. "Don't insult me Captain or try to intimidate me all that matters is what you will see in the ring nothing else." Cloudkicker grabbed Trevor's hand gently. "Anyway I must get back to my training before the tournament hopefully our paths will cross in the tournament." Trevor bowed to Shining before motioning for Cloudkicker to help him leave. "That stallion won't last a single round." The judge said with a sigh. "It's a shame to see someone cut down at such a young age." "I don't think so." Shining said crossing his arms smiling. "What do you mean Captain?" "He shows no fear as if he couldn't see what horrors the world can show you." Shining shook his head. "He might make it to me if he plays his cards right." Shining turned to the judge signing his own waiver. ---------------------------------- Trevor and Cloudkicker made it back to the castle Cloudkicker was lecturing Trevor almost the entire time. "Do you have any idea what you have gotten yourself into? The group you will be fighting are all masters they would slaughter you." Trevor sat down in the center of his floor holding his cane in one hand. "Cloudkicker I am the last line of my sword style and I have mastered it making me the master." He heard the slight movement of the flower in front of him. "Now please I need you to help me prepare for this tournament and it starts with only two purchases one being a twin and the next being a flat mask designed for my face a few air holes at the mouth and 4 eyes painted on it in a cube formation." He quickly drew his blade and sheathed it in one swift motion. "And then I will be ready for the tournament." "Trevor how do you expect to pay for all of this?" Trevor sighed remembering he had no money. "God dammit I keep forgetting my money doesn't work here." He tapped the side of the flower in front of him as it fell to the table in pieces. "I need a job and make money before the tournament." He didn't know what he could do to make money he was blind after all. "How about this ask Rarity if she can help you with the mask and I will call in a favor with a friend of mine." Trevor nodded with a sigh. "Just be sure to pay me back with some of the prize money." She smiled happily crossing her arms. "If you can get me my twin I will give you all of the prize money." Trevor handed his cane to her. She took it holding the blade almost as if it would shatter at smallest movement. "I will go to my friend will you be alright without this for a few hours?" Trevor nodded seeming unnaturally calm. "I will be back soon Trevor stay out of trouble." Cloudkicker left the room being careful with Trevor's cane. Trevor sat in silence listening to his own thoughts he was going through his standard meditation to hear his surroundings and react to every sound accordingly. He heard something enter the room slowly which piqued his interest but he remained still as a statue. "Trevor are you in here?" Trevor remained still allowing the person to enter the room seeing where he sat the person sat down across from him. "Are you here to join me Princess Luna?" Trevor asked keeping his eyes closed. "I could but wouldn't that be distracting?" Trevor shook his head. "Understand to become a master swords man you have to have unbridled focus. You will not be able to disturb my meditation." Luna nodded letting her mind drift off into darkness she slumped forward almost the same time as Trevor. -------------- Trevor opened his eyes to see the darkness gone replaced by static. "Welcome back Trevor." A voice said close to his ear. Trevor turned to see a different version of himself instead of being surrounded in static he was a shadow. "And who are you?" Trevor asked crossing his arms disappointed. The shadow only smiled shrugging happily. "You know, I'm not quite sure so I am just going to say my name is Shade." Shade walked towards Trevor smiling. "Just here to find out if you can be of some use to me." Trevor turned away from Shade walking away. "Don't you even know what I want to use you for?" "Not really Shade I have better things to worry about like preparing." Shade grabbed Trevor by the shoulder yanking him backwards onto the ground. "I think you misunderstood my intentions Trevor I am going to use you how I see fit. Now then when I say bark you bark when I say fight you fight and when I say play dead you die are we clear?" Trevor tried to push Shade off but could not move. "I guess I will have to break you before you listen." Shade raised his fist about to strike Trevor when a blast of energy slammed into his side launching him away. Trevor turned to see Luna horn smoking from the discharge. "I'm glad I made it in time." Trevor nodded standing up staring down Shade. "Next time that thing won't be able to save you." Shade snapped his fingers as he disappeared into the static. "Who was that Trevor?" Luna asked to see Trevor shaking his head. "He calls himself Shade and to be honest I haven't a single thought of who or what he is." Trevor turned to look at her. "Oh I do have a favor to ask of you." Luna tilted her head in question. "Can you write up and send a letter to Rarity for me? I just need a mask made for the tournament no eye holes just a solid full face mask with 4 eyes painted on it nothing else." Luna nodded to him. "I can do this are you sure you are well enough to fight in the tournament." Trevor only smiled. "Trust me Princess it will be a few matches you will not want to miss." Trevor snapped his fingers engulfing the world in light. Trevor sat up straight taking a deep breath. Again the voice of Shade entered his mind. "I will make you my puppet boy just be ready for it." Just as quick as the voice came it left. The sound of scratching on paper alerted him to Luna's presence once again. "The letter has been sent Trevor and your specifications have been sent as well." Trevor nodded reaching for his cane before he noticed it was not in his possession. "I do have a little bit of good news and bad news." "I am listening Princess just tell me the bad news first." "Well we have no way of sending you back the magic that brought you here is a cross-dimensional magic designed as a one way ticket." "Damn that is some bad news." Trevor scratched his head thinking. "So what is the good news?" "We found out how you were brought here." Trevor face-palmed slightly annoyed. "Great so I'm stuck in this world till the end of my days." He stood stretching. "Well could be worse I guess. Thank you again Princess for informing me of how I was brought here." Luna smiled turning towards the door about to leave. "You'll come won't you?" "Excuse me?" She said looking back at him. "To the tournament are you going to see the fights?" "Of course the captain of my night guard is participating in the master level." "Then I apologize in advance Princess." A smile slowly crept on his face. "What for?" Her interest was piqued. "For embarrassing your guard with a crushing defeat." Luna looked at Trevor shocked but a creeping thought entered her mind. He can do just as he says. Luna chuckled turning back to the door. "Good luck in the tournament Trevor hopefully you are not cut down." Trevor nodded as Luna left the room leaving Trevor all alone. > Part 8: Day 1 of 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 8: Day 1 of 7 By: Major Frostwing It has been a month since Trevor's run in with the passenger only known as Shade. He would constantly invade Trevor's mind as he slept and attack his psyche when he was awake. Cloudkicker was beginning to become worried about him but every time she would ask what's wrong. "It's nothing Cloudkicker just some bad memories nothing to worry about." It still worried her but she was afraid of offending the man by pushing the subject. At least there was something to take her mind off of it all today. "The tournament is today Trevor. Are you ready?" She asked grabbing hold of his hand. "I have everything I need." Trevor was tying the cloak Rarity made for him throwing the hood up over his head. "The last thing is to get in the ring." Trevor checked to make sure his cane was at the ready and the second blade was secured to his back firmly. "Let's go I want to test everything I have learned." Cloudkicker squeezed his hand smiling to herself. "I will be watching your matches Trevor just be careful out there. Some of the other contestants use this tournament just to hurt people." Trevor smiled pulling out a mask. The mask was a flat white with four eyes painted on the front no eye holes were present. Each eye was different from the last but each one was in a wide eyed stare seeming to pierce the soul with a single gaze. Trevor's trademark from his world intimidation was key to victory that and skill. Skill always seemed to help. "I will be sure to take your breath away with a truly beautiful match." Trevor smiled one last time before securing the mask to his face. "Come on Trevor we'll be late for the check in." Cloudkicker moved with Trevor towards the train station to make the short trip to Canterlot Colosseum for the tournament. ----------------------- "ALL RIGHT CONTESTANTS!" A man yelled on a podium in front of every contestant. "You will submit all items to a judge and a list will be made. You are not allowed to bring any more gear into the Colosseum after the process is complete you will be given a room number and a key that will be your room for the week of the tournament. Relax in your rooms and in the lounge area until the tournament starts. When it does start stay in your rooms to avoid any unnecessary incidents. Any questions?" The entire group was silent. "Move to the judges state your name and level of competition that is all." The man stepped down taking his leave as Trevor and Cloudkicker moved forward to the judges. "Name?" The judge asked Trevor not looking up. "Trevor..." "Level of fighting?" "Master." Trevor looked down towards the stallion in front of him. "Gear you are bri- GAH!" The judge yelled falling out of his seat from being startled. All the judge saw was those four eyes staring him down. Trevor tilted his head slightly. "I am bringing two swords, the mask, and the cloak. Oh and the clothes on my back but that was obvious now wasn't it?" Trevor leaned forward slightly. "Y-yes that is good." The judge got back in his chair still feeling a little unnerved about the mask. He pulled a key out of a box handing it to Trevor. "Room 4 in the south wing." Trevor nodded pulling his hood a little lower. Trevor snapped his fingers moving through the room deeper into the Colosseum there was a problem though he ha no way of knowing which room was his. A hand landed on Trevor's shoulder rather hard making him stagger slightly. "Hello Comrade, you seem a little lost first time at the Colosseum?" Trevor turned his head to hear the man, he sounded like he was Russian to Trevor and also a full head taller than him judging from where the voice was coming from. Trevor reached up removing his mask and sliding it in his pocket. "Yea I don't know my way around mind if I know your name?" The man let out a hearty laugh slapping Trevor's back. "Of course you can know my name. I am simply Sledge Hammer Captain of the Night Guard I am in the master division." Trevor narrowed his eyes upon hearing this a smile creeped up onto his lips. "It's a pleasure to meet you Captain I am Trevor I am in the master division as well." Trevor bowed towards Sledge Hammer. "So what room you gonna be staying in?" Sledge asked walking towards the rooms. Trevor followed after him. "I am room 4." "I guess that makes us neighbors I am in room 3." Sledge suddenly stopped unlocking his room. "Be careful Trevor you never know who your allies and who your enemies are." Trevor only nodded smiling. "I don't know what your talking about Captain. Everyone is my enemy in this tournament." Sledge was silent watching Trevor walk away to his own room. Something about Trevor made The Night Captain nervous as if his goal was not to beat Shining Armor but to defeat Trevor instead. "I think the Princess warned me about that man but he is nothing special I will break him like all of my other opponents." He let out a short laugh before closing his door locking it. ----------------------------------- Canterlot Colosseum Round 1 of The Master Division. Trevor (Dual Wielder) VS. Grey Wing (Battle Axe). Trevor heard the announcement for his fight which happened to be first he never liked being first he would have to hold back and not show off all of his moves. Slowly Trevor removed his mask securing it to his face pulling his hood low to hide it until the right time. A match official entered the room to see Trevor looking down at the ground his cane in his hand. "Mr. Trevor follow me when you are announced enter the arena when the announcer say fight the match will begin. The match only ends with a concede or death do you understand?" "I wouldn't have it any other way." Trevor smiled as he walked out of his room after the official. "FILLIES AND GENTLECOLTS ARE YOU READY FOR THE FIRST ROUND OF THE MASTER DIVISION?" The applause was like thunder echoing through the hallways as Trevor made it to his entrance. "THIS YEAR WE HAVE A NEW CHALLENGER ENTERING THE MASTER DIVISION BUT FIRST LET'S INTRODUCE OUR VETERAN COMPETITOR! COMING FROM THE COLD MOUNTAINS OF THE GRIFFIN EMPIRE. THE ONE THE ONLY GREY WING!" The applause was near deafening as Grey Wing entered the ring with his battle axe across his shoulders. He was tall with his facial feature resembling a bird only with dark grey feathers leading up to dark brown feathers covering the top of his head and neck. Just as his name says his wings were a light grey in color. He was clad in a deep red plate armor. This griffon was very old but with age came wisdom such does battle make you stronger and quick on your feet. "A few words for the audience?" The announcer asked Grey Wing. He nodded taking the microphone. "This challenger has guts for entering the Master division without even trying to take on the advance division first let us treat this warrior with respect before he loses." The crowd went wild as Grey Wing passed the mic back to the announcer. "NOW WITHOUT FURTHER ADO COMING FROM THE VILLAGE OF PONYVILLE. GIVE A WARM CANTERLOT WELCOME TO TREVOR!" Trevor opened the door walking out to the center of the arena. It was strangely quiet the crowd not knowing what to do at the appearance of Trevor clad in a black cloak a cane held out in front of him. "YOU CAN DO IT TREVOR!" A single voice yelled from the stands which caught everyone's attention. It was Pinkie Pie who yelled. It was suddenly joined by hundreds of other cheers. Trevor knew the voices as others from Ponyville cheered all of his friends were here cheering for him. "Do you want to say something to the crowd?" The announcer asked Trevor who nodded. The arena went silent listening closely to what Trevor was going to say. "Grey Wing was it?" Trevor said smiling behind his mask. "I'm sorry to say I will not lose this round to you." Trevor paused to let that sink in. "But let us make this a battle the audience will soon not forget." The crowd went wild forcing Trevor to smile. "TO THE BETTER FIGHTER!" Trevor tossed the mic back to the announcer. Grey Wing smiled at his challenger yet still the man before him made his blood run cold. Trevor even though he spoke of a good match he not once looked up at him or the crowd. "ALRIGHT I AM GOING TO MOVE TO A SAFE DISTANCE WHEN I SAY FIGHT THE MATCH WILL BEGIN IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?" Both Trevor and Grey Wing nodded. The announcer moved away from the two fighters standing with the judges. "READY? FIGHT!" Grey Wing charged forward raising his battle axe high swinging it down upon Trevor causing dust to be kicked up from the impact. Grey Wing chuckled but jumped back suddenly. Trevor was standing only a few inches away from where the axe impacted continuing to keep his head down. "Nice miss Mr. Wing would you like to try again?" Trevor still had his blade sheathed. Grey Wing was to a degree stunned at Trevor. 'He only moved enough to dodge the blade nothing more nothing less.' Grey Wing said to himself analyzing his opponent more carefully. 'Just who is this stallion?' Trevor tilted his head a ray of light shined into his hood revealing a single eye on his mask. This made Grey Wing shudder slightly. "I see." Trevor said grabbing the handle and sheath of his blade tightly. "I will try to make this quick." Trevor drew his blade holding it out in front of him his sheath was still in his left hand facing away from his thumb. "Loud Stance: Fury." Trevor muttered to himself remembering how this stance worked. Almost as if he was listening to his master explain the stance to him. ----------------------------- 10 years ago... "But master you told me that sword-fighting was not something that used anger." A younger Trevor said sitting across from his master. "I know what I said Trevor but let me explain this stance to you." The man lifted up his tea cup taking a sip smiling. "The loud stance is just as it states you will be making a lot of noise with your strikes. The reason it is known as fury is the ferocity in your strikes. You will strike quick and hard most people do not expect sudden ferocity in battle." The master stood picking up his cane it was the same cane Trevor would inevitably carry as his own. "Walk with me Trevor I will demonstrate this ferocity to you and maybe one day you will use it as your own." The master drew his blade just as Trevor did. "You will hold your blade in your right hand facing towards your opponent and your sheath in your left hand facing away from your thumb just as you would when drawing your blade." "Alright master but it feels clumsy and awkward." Trevor said trying to get the feel of the weight. "That's the point if you can master this stance then I can continue to teach you the other stances." The master patted Trevor on his head. "Remember Trevor if you fight with anger you will only secure your defeat and remember battle is not meant to be fun but a smile can cause an opponent to rethink how to approach you." Trevor nodded as he began to practice with the stance he had just learned. ----------------------------- Trevor crouched low leaning forward slightly. Grey Wing raised his battle axe ready to defend when Trevor dashed forward swinging with his blade it slammed against the blade of the axe. The strength behind the attack startled Grey Wing but he didn't see Trevor's left hand swinging the sheath which struck him in the side where his armor didn't defend. Trevor's attacks didn't cease there Trevor moved his blade to the side pushing Grey Wing's axe away from a defensive position. Grey Wing didn't even get to see the blade as it froze against his throat when he looked down he saw the mask Trevor wore he was looking up at Grey Wing those eyes seemed to bore right into his soul. Grey Wing for the first time in his long life was absolutely terrified at the creature that stood before him. Trevor let out a light chuckle tapping Grey Wing on the side of the neck with his sword. Grey wing glanced over to see not only the blade against his neck but the sheath as well against his adams apple. 'If he had two swords he could easily sever my head from my shoulders.' Grey Wing dropped his axe knowing he had no chance of winning in a position like this. "I surrender." Trevor moved his blade away from his neck sheathing it. "I'm sorry about that Grey Wing I have to win this competition." Trevor reached up removing his mask to show his true face. "Maybe next year we can have another match." Trevor bowed to Grey Wing who bowed back to him. When Trevor stood back up straight extending his hand to Grey. "I just have to ask where did you learn that style it seems so familiar?" Trevor only smiled. "Never ask a magician how his tricks work." Grey chuckled taking Trevor's hand in his. "THE VICTOR OF ROUND ONE IS TREVOR OF PONYVILLE WITH A MATCH TIME OF 1 MINUTE 35 SECONDS!" The crowd let out their cheers and applause for Trevor but then Trevor heard a series of boos directed at Grey Wing. Trevor had heard enough and walked to the announcer holding out his hand. "THE VICTOR WOULD LIKE TO SAY A FEW WORDS!" The announcer placed the mic in Trevor's hand. "I have only one thing to say. For each of you that boo at the defeated know this... they chose to put their life on the line for a shot at proving that they are the best. SHOW SOME FUCKING RESPECT!" Trevor boomed the entire Colosseum went silent. "If you think you can do better than any man in this competition then grow a pair and do what we do. Spend everyday perfecting your style, fight through the blood, sweat, and tears to make it this far. yet there are a select few of you who boo at the defeated it's just the same as someone destroying everything you worked so hard to make. I do not want to hear a single boo come from this Colosseum show the respect that we show all of you." Trevor dropped the mic walking over to Grey Wing patting him on the shoulder. "Thank you." Grey said smiling. "Think nothing of it friend just make sure you come back next year." Grey smiled placing his hand on Trevor's shoulder. That's when he noticed Trevor's eyes. "You're blind." Trevor began chuckling. "Yea but that's how the style works. Eyesight clouds the mind and leaves you vulnerable." Trevor smiled slipping the mask back onto his face. "Without it life is hard but I turned it into my weapon with the help of my master." Trevor walked away to the exit. Grey walked towards his own exit. "That stallion is weird but I have faith in him that he will win." Grey felt his side wincing. "The scary thing is he knew where to strike where my armor didn't cover." Grey went to his room to pack up his gear his chance was over. > Part 9: Day 3 of 7 Fire VS Smile > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 9: Day 3 of 7 Fire Vs. Smile By: Major Frostwing Trevor was sitting in his room his blades held in his hands as he breathed in through his nose and out his mouth. "Remember Trevor to achieve your full potential you need to breathe. Achieve your center and be at peace with your surroundings." Trevor listened to his master in his mind. "I can finally use your teachings master I will not disappoint you." Trevor continued to breathe focusing on the stances in his mind. '2 Stances 6 emotions and a final form make up the Sound Style... I never mastered the final form so I hope I will not have to use it' Trevor stood ready for his next fight and judging by the matches he was unconsciously listening to he heard that Cloudkicker had advanced to the next round. After each round the master division get a day off to prepare for the next round. He sheathed both of his blades sighing only 2 more rounds until the finals including this round. Trevor put his mask on his face removing his cloak he would not need it today for it would slow him down. "Trevor your round begins in 10 minutes please follow me." Trevor looked to the man making him flinch. Trevor only motioned for him to go which the coordinator obliged just to not have to look at the mask anymore. "So you are not wearing the cloak today?" He asked trying to focus on something else. "Nah I am going to need speed today to win against my opponent." Trevor looked up to the coordinator. "Is the mask bothering you?" He asked his shoulders drooped. "I'm just not used to the mask it is not your fault." Trevor tilted his head. "Most of the time the other fighters wear helmets or some sort of scarf never just a mask." The coordinator stopped at the door listening. "Good luck out there Mr. Trevor." "Thank you sir I will need it to win." Trevor moved his mask to the side to show the coordinator he was smiling. He smiled back. "WELCOME TO THE FINAL FIGHT TODAY FOR THE MASTER DIVISION!" The entire Colosseum shook with excitement. "OUR FIGHT IS BETWEEN TWO GREAT MASTERS OF THEIR STYLE. TREVOR OF PONYVILLE AND IRONCLAW OF THE DRAGON KINGDOM!" Trevor stopped looking to the coordinator. "I'm fighting a dragon?" "Yes just be careful he nearly killed his last opponent even after the pony conceded defeat he continued to attack." Trevor tightened his grip on his blades. "Well this will be fun I wonder how he will act towards me?" Trevor slid his mask back onto his face. "PLEASE WELCOME TREVOR!" Trevor kicked the door in front of him open with a loud bang that silenced the crowd. When Trevor stopped in the center of the Arena he clapped his hands together a few times nodding. The crowd joined him in clapping then they began to cheer for him. "NOW WELCOME IRONCLAW!" Ironclaw opened the door walking out to the center of the ring Trevor could hear him dragging a rather heavy object behind him. The crowd continued to cheer as Ironclaw stared down Trevor. "YOU BOTH REMEMBER THE RULES CORRECT?!" both Trevor and Ironclaw nodded. "THEN LET THE FIGHT BEGIN!" ------------------------------- Trevor drew both of his blades holding them at the ready. "I have bad news for you young one." Ironclaw mocked looking at his blade then at Trevor. "Your tiny blades will not be able to block any of my attacks." "Who said I needed to block your attacks?" Trevor asked crouching low to the ground ready for him to make the first move. Trevor heard the blade move through the air the sound it made was a light whistling noise. Trevor side-stepped the swing and retaliated by swinging his blades sideways they came in contact with something digging in slightly before Trevor heard the blade being dragged towards him. 'Shit.' Trevor was smacked aside which dislodged his blades from their target. "I will give you some credit young one you actually hit me sadly your blades are not strong enough to cut my hide." Trevor stood slowly a searing pain in his side from where he was hit. "Just make this quick and accept your defeat." Trevor began to laugh it started quiet and slowly became crazed. "I have to thank you Ironclaw you make me want to take this match seriously." He smiled under his mask he took up a stance one blade held above his head the other held towards Ironclaw. 'Loud Stance: Joy.' Trevor said to himself charging forward. ------------------------------ "Good job on mastering fury now we move on to the second form known as Loud Stance: Joy." Trevor's master said watching Trevor pant heavily. "You could work on your stamina though." Trevor only nodded in agreement. "Master why is it called Joy?" The master chuckled pulling out two practice blades smiling. "This requires the use of two blades not just your sheath. The style relies on psychological fighting. the entire time a smile will be carved on your face each strike with make you laugh and each wound you receive will only make you fight harder." Trevor listened to this fairly confused at this style. "The hard part if forcing your mind to think that you are not just fighting but you are actually doing something else letting the emotion take hold." Trevor sighed scratching the back of his head. "Master how am I supposed to do that?" The master patted him on the head. "Think of what brings you happiness everything that makes you smile." Trevor listened to his master's words smiling. "I think I know what to do now master thank you." Trevor held his practice blades a smile creeping onto his face as he made his first strike. -------------------------------- Trevor slammed both of his blades into the side of Ironclaw cutting him deep the fight had been raging on for little over 20 minutes now. Trevor had been cut, bruised, and heavily injured yet he continued to stand. Ironclaw was in the same condition but he was barely able to stand. 'What in tartarus is wrong with this stallion? I cut him and he just laughs striking me back harder than before.' Ironclaw stood just in time to see Trevor swing his blade. Ironclaw was quick enough to block the attack but not quick enough to move out of the way of the kick that came launching him backwards. landing on his back Ironclaw tried to stand. Trevor let out a laugh but it suddenly ceased as he slumped forward. "Why must we fight like this?" Trevor asked standing up straight. "Just concede defeat I do not want to use my next stance on you it would be unfair to you." Trevor took his mask off wiping his forehead off. "This fight will only end in death at this rate and I do not wish to kill a fellow master it's a waste." Ironclaw could not believe his ears. "Mercy?" Ironclaw stood slowly his anger taking hold of his mind. "YOU DARE SHOW MERCY ON THE BATTLEFIELD!" Smoke and flames came out of his mouth as he yelled. "I'LL KILL YOU!" Ironclaw charged Trevor raising his blade high. Trevor felt the heat coming off of Ironclaw as he charged him. "I will not kill you but I will defeat you." Trevor held both of his blades low on his right. "Silent Stance: The End." When Ironclaw was right in front of Trevor they both lashed out. Dust was kicked up from the blow obscuring the view of the outcome. Strangely the collision made no sound. "I'm sorry Fillies and Gentlecolts but the dust is to thick to see the out co-" Something rather large slammed into the ground in front of the announcer making him jump back. He noticed what the object was it was a section of Ironclaw's sword. The announcer looked up to see Trevor crouched low one blade held high the second was placed against Ironclaw's stomach. "I'll be damned beaten by a young fool." Ironclaw said as he slumped forward Trevor caught Ironclaw lowering him to the ground. "You will live Ironclaw and you will come back stronger next time." Trevor stood up finding his sheaths. He smiled as he sheathed his blades attaching them to his person. "THE VICTOR IS TREVOR OF PONYVILLE!" The announcer yelled as the crowd went wild Trevor only slid his mask back onto his face. "HOLD ON!" A voice bellowed making the entire crowd go silent. "We did not hear Ironclaw concede defeat the match is still on." Trevor turned noticing it came from the judges table. "He has to concede defeat or be killed for the match to end. Either we wait or you finish him off now." Trevor looked towards where Ironclaw was laying before returning his attention to the judge. "I refuse to kill and he did concede defeat the second he lost his weapon." Trevor walked forward to the judges table looking down at the judge the eyes on his mask doing what they were designed to do. Scare the living hell out of those he looked at. "He can not fight without a weapon so by default he concedes defeat." "That is not how the rules work freak." The judge said as the entire crowd gasped at what the stallion had said. "Can I ask you something sir?" Trevor grabbed the judge by the shirt pulling him up. "Do you want to take his place in this fight?" Trevor smiled under his mask. "If not then keep your mouth shut I will not kill my opponent especially one who can not fight back." Trevor shoved the judge back into his chair. "That's it you are being disqualified Ironclaw wins." The Judge said into his microphone in front of him. "I think not nephew." Trevor turned towards the voice noticing that it was Princess Luna. "Trevor wins this round along with the fact you are now no longer a judge." Luna walked up to Trevor patting him on the shoulder. "It was a glorious fight young Trevor." Trevor nodded sighing. "I will send a medical team to your room after we are done here just be careful on your way to your room." The crowd remain silent through the whole ordeal. Trevor raised his fist into the air which earned him a thunderous applause. Trevor exited the Arena to hear the coordinator still at the door. "That battle was insane." Trevor nodded feeling light headed he shook his head placing his hand on the wall to keep himself up. "Hey are you alright?" The coordinator grabbed Trevor just as he fell. "Hey come on stay with me." Trevor didn't stay awake for long as he slipped into unconsciousness. > Part 10: I Will Fight On Day 5 of 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 10: I Will Fight On Day 5 of 7 By: Major Frostwing An insistent beeping pierced Trevor's foggy mind as he awoke. 'What is going on?' He asked himself sitting up in his bed. The door opened making Trevor look to the door suddenly. "Who's there?" He demanded. "Oh I see your awake that's good." A man said walking towards Trevor who in turn reached around for his cane unable to find it. "Do not worry young one I am a doctor. One of the coordinators brought you to the infirmary you seemed as if you were near dead." The doctor examined the machines Trevor was hooked up to. "So what happened to me?" Trevor clicked his tongue finally "seeing" where his cane was. "You were malnourished and dehydrated." He said calmly pulling up a seat next to Trevor. "You have been asleep recovering for all of the fourth day." Trevor's eyes widened at the revelation. "Is today day 5?" Trevor asked reaching for the IV on his arm. The doctor tried to stop him but Trevor shoved him off. "You can not compete in your condition. It's useless anyways I already resigned you from the tournament so just lay back down." Trevor had heard enough pulling the IV off along with the other cords. "That is not your call to make." Trevor said standing up he felt weak but he needed to do this. "I will not give up I have to win." Trevor picked up his cane along with his second blade strapping it to his back. "If you go out there you will die you know this right?" Trevor only shot the doctor a smirk. "I do not fear death but the sight that awaits me when I do pass on." Trevor left the room leaving his mask behind. He would not need it today for he will be himself for this fight. ------------------------------------------ "SADLY TODAY'S FINAL FIGHT FOR THE MASTER DIVISION SEMI-FINALS HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO A FORFEIT BY TREVOR OF PONYVILLE. SO THE VICTOR TODAY WILL BE SLEDGE HAMMER CAPTAIN OF THE NIGHT GUARD!" The crowd cheered but Sledge Hammer stood his arms crossed watching the opponent entrance. The door suddenly exploded open as Trevor walked into the arena his blades already drawn. "This fight is still on." Trevor said walking past the announcer. Trevor stopped in front of Sledge Hammer. "Your victory will not come on this day Sledge." "Then let us see what you have." Sledge raised his hammer to his shoulder. Trevor could tell by the sound of the hammer contacting Sledge's shoulder paldrons that the weapon he used was heavy. "THE SEMI-FINALS IS ABOUT TO BEGIN FROM A RECEDE OF FORFEIT BY TREVOR OF PONYVILLE!" The announcer moved out of the way. "READY?" Trevor and Sledge both stood stoic. "FIGHT!" Trevor backed off holding both of his blades backwards a smile crept on his face Sledge hesitated for a second watching Trevor closely. "Loud Style: Fear." Trevor tilted his head to the side his smile becoming a sickening grin that would make the devil shudder. "Where will the blade come from I wonder." Trevor slumped his shoulders walking slowly towards Sledge. "So many choices to chose from." Trevor suddenly dashed forward swinging both of his blades in a wide arc. Sledge raised his hammer to block the blades but something changed. Trevor extended his leg dropping his position to a low stance. Sledge didn't have time to block the blades as Trevor placed two clean cuts on the calf and thigh of The Night Guard. Sledge dropped to one knee as Trevor finished his spin he raised his blade high swinging down. Sledge moved his hammer blocking the attack but then he noticed his mistake. The second blade moved like lightning placing a shallow cut on his neck. Trevor suddenly jumped back still smiling. "That's twice I killed you." Trevor dashed forward again that sickening grin still present on his face. --------------------------------------- "Fear is one of your greatest weapon in your arsenal. If you can make an opponent afraid of you then you could twitch a finger to terrify them." Trevor listened to his master intently determined to learn about this new form. "This style has no effect on you visually but mentally it will break you." The master stopped his blade against Trevor's neck putting a light cut on him. Trevor instinctively moved back from the attack. "One such fear people have is death play on this factor and they will beg you to stop. Tell them after each strike at a vital spot that they are dead." Trevor smiled gently learning this style would be hard but worth it in the end. "I will learn this style master I swear." Trevor bowed going out to practice. ---------------------------------- Sledge didn't know what this feeling clutching at his heart making him make simple mistakes. Trevor's unyielding assault did not help his situation either but he was determined to not yield this fight. Sledge stood albeit slower than he would normally due to the multiple cuts on his legs. "What are we at now Sledgy I think it is 68 now." Trevor tapped his chin thinking that same smile never leaving his face. In the eyes of those who watched they only saw a monster. Trevor's smile vanished as his blades shifted to a forward position. "But your pain will only become worse as this continues." Trevor said solemnly as the blade in his right hand shifted backwards. "BUT ISN'T THIS GREAT FUN WE ARE HAVING!?" Trevor dashed forward slamming both of his blades against Sledge's hammer. "What in Tartarus are you?" Trevor continued to smile not out of sick pleasure for making his opponent fear death but out of the joy of a good fight. "I just want to have some fun don't you?" He raised his left blade thrusting it into Sledge's shoulder paldron. The blade seemed to glide right through the protective gear earning Trevor a pained gasp. Trevor raised his leg slamming it into Sledge's chest throwing all of his weight forward. Sledge fell back to the ground. For almost the entire fight Sledge was on the defensive. "Come on play with me." Trevor pouted sheathing both of his blades suddenly. His smile replaced by a frown. "Do you think you not need your weapons to fight with me." Sledge groaned as he stood lifting his hammer before dashing forward. "FIGHT ME!" A pain expression was on Trevor's face. "I hope you will forgive me for the pain I am about to give you." Trevor dropped low taking hold of the hilt of his blade on his back. "For it will be agonizing." Trevor looked to be in more pain than Sledge was through the entire fight. When Sledge was close enough silence grabbed the arena not releasing it's grip for several long seconds. Everyone gasped at what they saw. The end of Sledge's hammer was sticking out of Trevor's stomach but Trevor's blade was on the other side of Sledge as if his attack missed. They stood still until Sledge's armor seemed to break apart revealing a long cut across his stomach. His hammer snapped in two pieces one piece still in Trevor's stomach the other fell from his hand. "A precise strike taking a mutual hit but making sure your attack was lethal. This is what you meant by pain." Sledge's eyes rolled back as he fell to the ground unconscious. Trevor sheathed his blade pulling the end of Sledge's hammer out of his stomach. He felt sick but he needed to remain standing. "AND TREVOR HAS DONE IT ONCE AGAIN CONQUERING THE ODDS BY DEFEATING HIS OPPONENTS!" The announcer yelled out walking out towards Trevor as the medical team rushed forward to help him. "TREVOR MOVES ON TO FACE SHINING ARMOR IN THE FINALS WHO WILL BE VICTORIOUS SHINING ARMOR CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL SUN GUARDS OR TREVOR OF PONYVILLE?!" Trevor was placed on a stretcher along with Sledge. Both were rushed to the medical room to have surgery Trevor eventually succumbed to sleep even though he wanted to remain awake. ----------------------------- Trevor slowly awoke hearing the insistent beeping just like he had earlier in the day. He sat up but immediately regretted doing so placing his hand over his stomach wound wincing at the pain it caused. "Trevor thank Celestia you are alive." Trevor knew that voice looking over to the voice. Cloudkicker wrapped her arms around him smiling. "When I was informed that you were injured I rushed here as fast as possible." Trevor raised his arm holding Cloudkicker tight. "I'm ok Cloudkicker I won't drop so quickly." He smiled feeling the warmth of Cloudkicker course through his body. "Trevor please tell me you will be dropping out of this tournament." She said almost as if she was begging him to stop fighting. "I can't do that Cloudkicker I have to keep my promise." Trevor's words seemed to cut her deep. "Forget our deal if you go against Shining Armor he will kill you in your state." Trevor chuckled laying back in his bed. "I have one last ace up my sleeve. I will have to use Joy for almost the entire fight just to keep myself going but I need to win." Trevor smiled contently. "As long as I remember my training I will not lose." Trevor felt his eyes grow heavy. "I have to win..." Trevor whispered as he slipped into sleep. Cloudkicker remained with Trevor until the doctor asked her to leave even then she wanted to remain. > Part 11: Shield VS Sound Final Day > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Part 11: Shield VS Sound Final Day By: Major Frostwing Trevor stood in his room securing his mask to his face. "I must be prepared for anything he throws at me." He muttered drawing his blades taking a test swing of each listening to them with his keen hearing. "I will need to sharpen both of you after we are done with the day." Trevor said sheathing the blades with care. "I have to be careful not to rip my wound open any further." He walked to his door knowing his time to fight was here. Trevor opened the door walking towards the entrance for his battle. The coordinator caught up with Trevor panting. "I see you are ready for the finals Trevor." Trevor only nodded to the coordinator frowning under his mask. "Be safe out there Trevor you have a lot of fans that would be sad to see you fall." Trevor nodded once again. "TREVOR!" A voice called out making Trevor turn towards the voice. Cloudkicker stopped next to him hugging him tight. "Please be safe out there." Trevor returned the hug smiling under his mask. Suddenly Trevor felt his mask slide off of his face and something to press against his lips. Trevor felt something breathe into his mouth and then his mind caught onto what was going on. But as quick as it came it left. "Come back to me Trevor. Please." Trevor grabbed his mask off of his face cutting his finger on his blade he felt where the paint of the eyes were and traced tiny marks along the eyes symbolizing tears. "I will return and the only tears to fall on this day will be my own and this mask's." Trevor smiled to Cloudkicker before sliding the mask over his face. "Your tears shall not fall for me in sadness but out of joy for my victory." Trevor turned on his heel facing away from Cloudkicker. "Now go watch as I fight for this victory with my heart and soul." "Just come back to me." Cloudkicker whispered before running off away from Trevor who stood stoic. ------------------------------------- "WELCOME EVERYPONY TO THE FINAL MATCH OF THE MASTER DIVISION THE MOST ANTICIPATED MATCH. CANTERLOT'S CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD KNOWN AS THE SHIELD OF THE SUN. SHINING ARMOR. VERSUS PONYVILLE'S RISING FIGHTER, TREVOR! WHO WILL COME OUT ON TOP ON THIS DAY?" Trevor and Shining Armor entered the arena both had their weapons drawn already Shining with his sword and shield Trevor with his dual blades. Both stopped facing each other ready for combat Shining was unphased by the mask and knew Trevor's style by examining it so closely. "Are you ready to fight Trevor, after the blow my colleague dealt you in your last match?" Shining asked smiling. "Focus on the battle at hand lest you be stuck down quickly." Trevor flipped both of his blades backwards. "So he is going to be using the style he used on Sledge I am ready for this." Shining said to himself preparing for the attack to come. "I will not be defeated so easily Trevor so come at me like you mean it." Trevor nodded flipping his blade in his right hand forward. "Ah the style from his first battle easily countered with my defense." Shining shifted his shield to be more forward. Trevor tilted his head at the shift in sound. "FIGHTERS ARE YOU READY?" Trevor Spun his left blade forward hearing Shining shift once again. "FIGHT!" Shining dashed forward ready to strike but froze when he saw Trevor sheath his back blade but holding onto it like he was about to draw it. Lowering his stance Trevor dashed forward to meet Shining swinging his right blade at him which was parried with Shining's shield. "Too slow." Trevor muttered drawing his blade it cut through the top of Shining's kite shield. Shining jumped back thinking how to counter this new style. "Interesting you can tell I was watching how you fought before and switched up your style." Shining dashed forward slashing at Trevor who blocked each attack with both of his blades. Shining suddenly thrust his shield forward hitting Trevor in the chest knocking him back. Trevor fell to his knee clutching at his stomach wound Shining dashed forward once again attacking in the same fashion but instead of the shield coming from the front it backhanded Trevor knocking him away to the ground. "Sadly changing your style will not save you from this fight." "Is that so?" Trevor asked standing still holding his blades tightly. "Come at me like you mean it Captain." Trevor dashed forward hearing Shining swing his blade Trevor dodged accordingly that's when he heard the shield coming. Trevor moved his blades in an upward arc slicing through the shield with ease. Only a small cut was visible on Shining's arm as he discarded the shield. "I guess I underestimated you Trevor." There was a strange humming in Trevor's ears as suddenly his hearing seemed to be limited to a small cube around him. Trevor had very little time to react as he dodged a blade that came at him but then a second came and a third. Blades were forming in the box around him stabbing at him some left shallow cuts others left deep gashes but then one pierced his chest into his right lung a second slammed across his mask chipping a section of it. Trevor lost all of his breath in an instant slumping forward onto the blade everything felt fuzzy in his head. He just felt so tired suddenly. The box around him dissolved letting him fall to the ground taking ragged breaths. "It was a good fight Trevor but I am the victor." Shining sheathed his blade smiling. "Sorrow..." Trevor muttered as a strange sight caught Shining's attention. Trevor was crying as he stood up he looked barely alive but he still raised his weapons. Shining sighed drawing his blade one last time. "Silent... Style." Trevor let out a cough blood splattered on the ground in front of him. "Sorrow." Trevor took a step forward swinging his blade slowly Shining went to parry this attack but the angle changed along with the speed cutting deep into his shoulder. Trevor ripped his blade out swinging again this time with both of his blades they moved slow. Shining raised his blade to block once again but both blades changed directions cutting into his chest and arm rather deep. "Sorrow cuts deeper than any blade." Trevor rasped as he swung again this time cutting across Shining's cheek and leg. "What in Tartarus is this style? It's slow but then lightning fast as if he can read where my blade will be to block." Shining smiled figuring out the style. "I will block at the last second." Shining lowered his blade waiting. But the next strike was blinding fast putting a shallow cut across Shining's throat while the second blade cut deep across the back of his hand forcing him to drop his blade. Trevor swung fast and hard forcing Shining to use his magic to block the attacks but, whenever Trevor would hit a shield he would strike somewhere else just as fast. Shining was about to raise another shield when both of Trevor's blades froze on Shining's person. One was sitting against the tip of Shining's horn the second rested just under his chest cavity. Trevor was swaying lightly under the stress his body was under. Shining could have just waited for Trevor to bleed out but he couldn't do it after seeing the look in his eyes. Not only was Trevor blind there was an undying determination in his eyes that kept him moving forward. Shining smiled raising his hands. "I CONCEDE!" Shining yelled out just as he did the blades in Trevor's hand fell to the ground along with their owner. Shining caught Trevor in his magic setting him on the ground as the arena was in stunned silence. A medical crew rushed out taking Trevor away healing magic was already being used on him to try and stop his bleeding. Shining winced at his own wounds after going through the entire tournament without so much as a scratch. Trevor managed to not only wound him but made him concede defeat he let out a sigh before smiling. "WE HAVE A NEW VICTOR!" The announcer yelled as the crowd began to whisper about Trevor's health. "TREVOR OF PONYVILLE HAS DEFEATED SHINING ARMOR BUT AT WHAT PRICE? HE HAS BEEN RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE HOPEFULLY THEY CAN KEEP OUR VICTOR ALIVE!" Shining turned walking away the taste of defeat was bitter but well worth the lesson he learned. "Just because you think you have won doesn't mean the opponent has conceded to his defeat." He chuckled remembering how Trevor fought. "Blind yet could see everything in his way." A hand stopped Shining he turned to see Princess Celestia smiling to him. "You fought valiantly Captain it was a wonderful fight." Shining smiled to his ruler nodding before being treated by the medical staff. ---------------------------------- Trevor awoke to the sound of sobbing the voice was familiar to him. "Why did you have to fight like that Trevor?" Cloudkicker asked Trevor who she thought was asleep. "You can be such an idiot." Cloudkicker wiped her tears away trying to control her emotions. "I know you said I shouldn't cry but what else can I do while you are like this?" Trevor raised his hand placing it against her cheek softly. "Have faith." Trevor whispered hearing Cloudkicker gasp in shock. "Smile Cloudkicker let that beauty shine instead of being overcast by sorrow." Trevor cracked a weak smile. "Show me that smile." Trevor said pressing his thumb against the corner of her mouth. Cloudkicker smiled letting out a chocked laugh. "Much better I hate seeing you so sad." Cloudkicker hugged Trevor gently as he rested his arm against her back smiling. "I'm sorry I wasn't careful." "Shut up Trevor." Cloudkicker muttered to him. "All that matters is that you came back to me alive." Cloudkicker moved back slightly looking into his light grey eyes. "Did I ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes?" She asked trying to control her tears. "I think you have said that before." Trevor said weakly smiling. Cloudkicker leaned forward kissing Trevor gently they remained like that until Trevor heard a sound outside the door. He turned his head towards the door hearing it open. "How is he Cloudkicker?" Twilight asked seeing the position himself and Cloudkicker was in. She blushed a deep crimson along with Trevor and Cloudkicker. "I see he is awake." Twilight said trying not to look at the scene before her. Cloudkicker sat back in her seat trying to control her blush and failing. "I'm still alive if that is what you were wondering." Trevor said closing his eyes. "I could really go for some food I'm starving." "Sorry Trevor The doctor said you can only have liquids until your wounds are fully healed." Twilight stated putting a cup in his hand it was warm but not hot. "I brought you some tea to help with your throat it must feel dry from the... blood." Twilight felt sick saying the word but knew that Trevor was going to live that's all that mattered. "The girls will be by tomorrow." Twilight walked towards the door. "Congratulations on winning Trevor but next time try not to give all of us a heart attack." Trevor chuckled taking a sip of the tea it helped his throat already. Twilight left the room leaving Cloudkicker and himself all alone. "Hey Cloudkicker?" Trevor asked taking another sip. "You mind if I take us out to a nice restaurant after I get out of here?" "Are you asking me out on a date Trevor?" Cloudkicker asked noticing the blush on his face. "Maybe." He said taking another sip. "I would love to Trevor just don't forget to repay the people you owe for the tournament." Trevor nodded smiling. He couldn't have done it without the help and support of his friends. Trevor smiled to himself. "I guess I have some to thank more than others." He took hold of Cloudkicker's hand gently rubbing his thumb on the back of her hand. "I was unsure on how I was going to win or even survive that fight but something kept pushing me forward." He glanced up to face Cloudkicker. "You gave me the strength to push the limits and win this tournament so I thank you Cloudkicker." He pulled her forward planting his lips onto hers. The kiss was short but felt long in their minds. "Thank you for everything you have done for this blind fool." Trevor smiled to her genuinely before Cloudkicker kissed him. "You are welcome Trevor just be sure to repay me by stealing my heart." Cloudkicker said in her head as they kissed. ----------------------------- Trevor layed in bed his eyes closed trying to rest remembering how the battle went which to a degree made him mad. "I could have gotten through that battle with little to no injuries." He sighed sliding his hand through his hair. "Why the hell was I being so careless I could have done so much better." "That would be my doing." Trevor heard in his head making him sigh once again. "Shade what do you want from me?" He asked Shade opening his eyes to the darkness around him. "Just giving you a little reminder that I will be in control and when you don't listen to me I will make you bleed for the arrogance." Shade said sitting down in a chair in Trevor's mind. "If this continues Trevor I will rid you of your life and move on to someone new." Shade crossed his arms phasing back into the darkness of Trevor's mind. "Remember Trevor I'm here to stay you are expendable." A sickening laugh echoed in Trevor's mind as he rubbed his forehead. "I want to get rid of you Shade and be done with you." Trevor closed his eyes once again drifting off into sleep. ----------------------------- -Canterlot Castle- Celestia was sitting at a table with Luna and Shining Armor. "Ok Shining can you tell us more about your battle with Trevor?" Shining nodded lowering his head to think. "It was strange to say the least. He can change styles like it was a natural talent of his." Shining let out a shudder thinking more about the fight. "I thought I beat him... but that look in his eyes He was willing to throw his life away for the win." Luna and Celestia raised an eyebrow to him confused. "Do you think he wanted to die?" Luna asked with a hint of concern for Trevor. "Not as deep as that Princess. It was like he had to win no matter what and if he had to die to accomplish that he would without a second thought." Celestia nodded folding her fingers together. "There was something else." "Mind to elaborate Shining?" Celestia asked. "Of course. I was afraid of that last form he used on me. The blade couldn't be stopped no matter what I did. If I put up a full shield I don't even think that would have stopped him from pushing through it." Shining lowered his head in shame. "I couldn't imagine what would have happened if he was trying to kill me." Shining placed his hand over his neck feeling the shallow cut. "Thank you Shining you can have the next few days off to recover." Celestia said with a smile. Shining stood bowing to her before leaving the room. Celestia looked to Luna who looked back at her. "What is it sister?" Luna asked her sister. "It's about Trevor according to what Shining said he could have won the tournament without putting any effort into it. Not to mention he probably wouldn't have been hit at all but something has been bothering me." Celestia put her hand under her chin thinking. "Every hit he took from what I could see was taken intentionally." "What do you mean? Are you saying that Trevor wanted to get hit?" Celestia shook her head. "It's nothing sister I'm just confused about this creature." Celestia turned to her sister smiling. "Probably just my imagination is all." Luna stood from the table walking towards the door. "Have a good night Luna." Luna turned and gave her sister a gentle smile. "I will sister I wish the same for you." Luna closed the door to a resounding thud. Celestia continued to sit at the table thinking about what had transpired at the tournament. "I will have to keep a close eye on this Trevor from now on." Celestia said grimly before letting out a sigh. She left for her room to go sleep. "But first I will see if there is any cake in the kitchen." She walked briskly for the kitchen. > EXTRA 1: The Lose of Gregory Garris > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Blind Delight Extra 1: The Lose of Gregory Garris By: Major Frostwing For this tale we have to go back many years to when Trevor had recently turned three. He was a happy boy not a care in the world with two loving parents. Maria Garris Trevor's mother and Gregory Garris Trevor's father. It was a dark day for Trevor but we shall begin when the day began. Trevor was awoken by his father. "Come now Trevor it's time to wake up." Trevor rolled over to see his dad smiling at him he returned the smile. "Ok Daddy." Trevor said in a rather chipper tone for just being woken up. "What have we got planned for the day?" Trevor asked getting out of bed. "Well I was going to go to work today." Trevor frowned at the thought of having to go to school today. "But I think we can go goof off for today." Gregory said said with a sly smile. Trevor smile returned even brighter than before. "Yay!" Trevor cheer jumping up hugging his father. "Lets go to the amusement park we can play all kinds of games and ride some rides." Trevor let out another cheer as Gregory lifted him up hugging him back. Gregory carried his son downstairs to see his wife preparing breakfast. "Hey honey me and Trevor are going to the amusement park." He said casually taking his seat at the table. "But doesn't Trevor have school today? Don't you have work today as well?" Maria whispered pointing a spatula at Gregory. He smiled sheepishly. "I already called both of us off. I don't spend enough time with him so I want to have a good day with my son." Gregory said as Trevor patted his hands on the table smiling. Maria sighed in defeat but then smiled. "Be safe today and have fun." She said going back to making breakfast. Trevor then noticed the silvery chain hanging out of his father's pocket. "Daddy what is this?" Trevor asked pulling on the chain. Gregory chuckled pulling out the old silver pocket watch out of his pocket. "This old thing?" Gregory showed his son the pocket watch to his son the face had the head of a fox engraved on it. "My great grandfather bought this when he was just a boy and gave it to his son when he was ready to receive it." Gregory smiled fondly at the old watch. "It is a Garris family treasure." Trevor took hold of the pocket watch opening it watching the second hand move around. "Can I have it now?" Trevor asked looking to his father. "I'll tell you what. When you turn 21 I will give this to you." Trevor looked down sad but then smiled. "You promise Daddy?" Gregory ruffled up his son's hair. "Without a doubt son." Gregory laughed with his son as he returned the watch to his pocket as Maria set their food in front of them. ------------------------------------------------ Trevor got in his father's car it was a Gregory's old car but he loved it. Trevor buckled up as did his father. "Ready to go?" Gregory asked Trevor who gave him a toothy grin. "Then let's go have a fun filled day." Gregory threw the car in reverse exiting out of the drive way making his way to the amusement park. "So what are we gonna do first?" Trevor asked practically bouncing in his seat he was so happy he got to spend time with his dad. Gregory chuckled smiling. "Let's hit the arcade first and play some video games." Trevor gave out a cheer as they made their way down the road. Gregory turned up the radio when a good song came on. "Good tune." Gregory said with a nod. The song was Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. "Good Tune." Trevor repeated with a smile. Gregory began to sing the words with Trevor just humming along to the song. -A Few Blocks Down The Road- "GET IN THE FUCKING CAR!" A masked man yelled to three other men. The men jumped into their get away vehicle. It was a Ford F-150 the men threw their bags into the back. "JUST DRIVE! GO!" The masked drive slammed his foot down on the gas taking off down the road. They blew through red lights dodging and weaving through traffic at break neck speed. A new song began to play on the radio which Trevor and Gregory began to bob their heads to the beat smiling. Gregory heard sirens in the distance but they sounded distant nothing to be concerned about. "I love you Daddy." Trevor said looking to his dad who smiled to him. "I love you too son." Gregory saw the light in front of him turn green as he began to move forward. It all happened to fast for Trevor to process what had happened just a loud screech and then a bang. Everything went black for Trevor and later he would realize that it would be permanent. The truck had hit their car so hard it flung it into the air slightly as it tumbled on the ground rolling over. The impact had hit Gregory's side and from what the autopsy said he was killed instantly his neck was snapped from the whiplash. Trevor on the other had survived on pure luck his head hit the car door knocking him out. When the vehicle was done with it's rolling it was stopped upside down. Part of the floor board was ripped open along with a few of the fluid lines. A mixture of rust, gasoline, transmission fluid, and oil leaked into the opening draining upon Trevor's face. The liquid roused him from his unconscious state enough that he opened his eyes just enough that the mixture entered his eyes before he succumbed to unconsciousness. The damage was done that would set him on his path in life. ------------------------------------------ -One Week Later- Trevor awoke slowly to darkness around him he heard a light beeping sound which made him look around the room to try and find where it came from. "Daddy?" Trevor called out weakly his eyes hurt he reached up trying to rub them but one of his arms was restricted while the other touched the bandages covering his eyes. "Daddy where are you? My eyes hurt." He said as he felt tears welling up which only made his eyes hurt even more. "Mommy? Daddy? Where am I?" He called out as a nurse entered the room seeing Trevor awake. "DOCTOR!" The nurse called as Trevor tried to remove his bandages. She walked over to Trevor briskly stopping him from removing his bandages. "Honey please stop you need to keep the bandages on." She said trying to calm him down but Trevor tried to fight back against her. "MOMMY DADDY HELP ME!" Trevor called out trying to remove the Nurses hands from him. "MOMMY DADDY!" Trevor called again as the doctor enter the room trying to calm Trevor down. That's when Maria entered the room seeing her son trying to fight off the doctors. "Trevor calm down please they are trying to help you." Maria said moving to Trevor's side rather quickly. Trevor slowly calmed down as Maria petted his head giving gentle shushes. Trevor finally lost all control over his emotions. "Mommy where is Daddy?" He asked crying he didn't know what was going on and it scared him. The room became silent except for the heart rate monitor that continued it's one note song. "He's gone Trevor." Maria whispered but Trevor didn't know what she meant he was to young death wasn't a thing in his mind. "When will he be back Mommy?" Trevor asked a child's naive mind is a saddening thing. Maria began to cry gently squeezing her son's hand. "He isn't coming back Trevor he is gone and is never coming back." Trevor let out a short laugh. "Daddy will come back Mommy. He always comes back." Trevor was catching on to the mood. "Daddy will come back and we will go to the amusement park and have fun like we planned." Maria cried unable to tell her son the truth about his father. The doctor lead Maria out of the room to try and help her compose herself. "I'm sorry sweetie but we couldn't help your Father." The nurse said solemnly as Trevor was at a lost for words. "What happened to my Daddy?" He asked almost begging them to tell him. "WHERE IS MY DADDY!?" He yelled the fear returning to him. "I'm sorry honey but he has passed on." The nurse stood up walking to Trevor's IV injecting a light sedative into it. Trevor just sat there his world was broken. Trevor sat there in bed the drugs took effect rather quickly but to Trevor it took forever for him to fall asleep. Trevor was just told he would never see his father again which essentially killed him in it's own way. When Trevor was told a day later that he would never again be able to see he didn't care. All that mattered was that his father was dead not being able to see the world again didn't seem to phase him until the shock of the entire accident set in. Trevor was released from the hospital two weeks later with a brand new blind man's cane. Trevor's outlook on life changed when his father was taken from him so suddenly he didn't make new friends and the ones he had, had abandoned him saying he was the weird kid. Trevor lost everything in such a short amount of time and learn at to early of an age the world is dark and cruel. That isn't to say this experience changed him for the worse for he found something to make his world seem a little more bright. It was the day Trevor met a man. A man who taught Trevor everything he knew about swordsmanship. A man that Trevor would soon call his master. > The Sequel Is Out > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do I really need to tell you more.
