The Piano Man has spent the last month in captivity, forced to play the piano as part of The Great and Powerful Trixie's traveling show. Now he's free, and recovering under the care of the Equestrian monarchy while Trixie awaits trial for her crimes.
All is not well, however. The Piano Man has a long road of recovery ahead, and all the time he must compete with overbearing carers, his own mental trauma, and even discrimination from members of Equestria's unicorn supremacist subculture.

This story is the kinda (can't stress that part enough) better-written sequel to 'The Piano Man'. Because the first story involved some rather dark scenes, I have included a helpful catch-up in the first chapter - so if you have no interest in reading a dark story, then you can ignore the first piece and skip straight ahead to this one.
'The Piano Man: Act II' is most certainly not a dark story, and neither is it sad. The sad tag is in place for scenes in which I reference the previous installment, and nothing else.

When all others have failed to stop the evil MechaCelestia from conquering all of Equestria, it is up to Fluffle Puff, grown to gigantic proportions, to save her country. Can she use all her creativity and wit to defeat this foe? Or will Equestria forever suffer under its robotic hooves?

In a hypothetical scene from the episode "Green Isn't Your Color", Photo Finish has Fluttershy pose for photos better suited for pin-ups. She does this in the name of moé, which for her interpretation means plenty of fanservice. Fluttershy is embarrassed of course, which just adds to the moé.

They also have to play harder music, but that's not what this story is about. This story is about an introverted DJ with an extreme alter-ego who is looking to catch the eye of a famous cellist, a lyrist trying to win over a candy maker at the mall, and something about how love is never easy or straight-forward.

Fearing the consequences of her actions in the bipedal world, Sunset Shimmer returns to Equestria and moves to Ponyville where Twilight Sparkle can keep an eye on her. Sunset Shimmer, bored and beaten, casts about for something to distract her, but soon the feelings growing inside her for Ponyville's princess can no longer be ignored. Nervously, with a little help and encouragement, Sunset begins to open her long-frozen heart to Twilight Sparkle, but when the shadows of Sunset's past threaten to destroy any chance of her happiness in the present, Sunset and Twilight may have to risk everything they have and defy cosmic forces older than Equestria in order to seize their fragile chance at happiness.
