Can You Guess Who Best Pony is?

Here Comes the Sunlight

I couldn't come up with anything clever.

Anyway, I was kinda sad I had nothing substantial to share for Sunset of Time reaching one-thousand upvotes last month. It's a little past the celebratory stature, but this is still pretty cool!

An author by the name andrizzi has decided to start doing a How It Should Have Ended for stories around Fimfic, and guess which one he chose to start with! A story that isn't Long Road to Friendship!

You can find his blog here! I thought it was pretty funny. It pokes good fun at some of the plotholes or... questionable decisions I had the cast make, but it's nowhere mean-spirited. I'm actually quite flattered. Go give it a read!

I feel bad for putting off catching up with Spectacular Seven for so long. But I finally got free time and enough willpower to exert to do it anyway!

I try.  But really, I should read more of yours, too!

#623 · 4w, 6d ago · · ·

>>2431602 Are you trying to hype me up to read your story? Because if so, it's working.

I haven't read the fic, but have seen those comments.  I think Suri is the "Moondancer" in my story in that she isn't the villain, but anytime I try to make her maybe not 100% bad, I still get those comments.  Used to annoy me in the beginning, but not as much now.

I'm not telling you who the main villain of the series is, though.  Everyone's always so surprised for that twist, and I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of it.  (Some people on the Internet say seeing the Frozen villain twist the first time without being spoiled is a rite of passage.  While that's a bit dramatic, and not exactly the best example...I feel like my series is like that.  Except, fortunately, it hasn't entered FiMFiction pop culture to the point where people aren't surprised by the twist at all, a la Darth Vader or newer MLP watchers with Chrysalis.)

Thankfully, I nipped that habit in the bud before it got worse.  It was just too draining on me.

>>2431054 It's funny how many parallels our stories have. Moondancer isn't even the villain of this volume and everybody hates her! Some more than the Sirens, the actual villains. It's fun.

And geez, 7,0000 words in one go. I applaud you for not going mad.

That's great!  Glad it's going well for you.  I just have very distinct memories of me not spacing out my time and trying to write like 7000 words in one sitting.  (And only making time to eat apples and small snacks like that.)

And I get a lot of the same "depressing" remarks for Act II of If You Give a Little Love, which was surprisingly my favorite act to write.  But IYGALL's villain is someone everyone has a lot of fun hating, so I still like seeing people react to Act II and the stuff the baddie gets up to.

A fun selection of Act II comments:

*has an increasing desire to start swearing*

Well...this is going to end well for....nobody.

And, before I shortened and rereleased a lot of the parts (which meant losing a lot of the comments), some guy even said he found a villain worse than Checker Monarch.  Granted, I've never read that fic, but I know enough about it to know that's a pretty big feat.

>>2431040 I've tried to plan everything out in advance so I have a general idea of what I'm going to be writing. Surprisingly though, I'm flying through these last three chapters for the volume. I wrote 4,000 words last night! If I didn't care about editing, I could release them this weekend. But, I'm being smart about this and trying to take my time. Plus, a lot of readers have told me this arc has been pretty depressing, so I'm making sure the finale has some comedy in it to make slogging through the rest worth it.

I've been there with If You Give a Little Love's "Madmare in the Attic" arc.  It was about the same length as yours is probably going to be, but...it was really difficult to get through.  I still think it's some of my best work, but I worked for hours on end that week just to make sure everything was perfect.  I hope you managed your time a bit better and aren't doing it at the last minute.
