Two colts, Blueberry and Tumble, take a shortcut from their village into Vanhoover, passing by an oak tree that seems to emanate some kind of odd, unsettling aura. They don't know why it's so strange, but Blueberry wants to find out.

Queen Chrysalis has spent years in hiding. She has been very careful to avoid being caught, but her time spent alone and in constant fear has worn away her sanity.

She goes to the tavern every night, and listens to the tales of glorious battle and heroic duels told by the bard. She dreams of saving the damsel, serving her lord, and being admired as the best knight in the lands.

So what does she do when she witnesses her first real duel?

This is just something short and simple I wanted to write, both playing on the trope of what people think a sword fight is, compared to the reality, and as a bit of a tie-in with a bigger universe and story that I’m working on. Hopefully you all like it!

When a magical malaise falls over Ponyville, stealing the very words from ponies' mouths, it's up to Applejack to save the day!

... so long as she can figure out what the heck everypony's trying to say, first.

After being banished for casting a malignant spell on ponies in a fit of madness, Cadence returns to Equestria. Haunted by her actions and eager to redeem herself, she decides that only by serving ponykind will she be able to regain her self-respect and the trust of her loved ones. In going to Canterlot to face Celestia, she finds Equestria in a state of prosperity... but its ruler is acting strangely.
