True Edge

Rose is a young filly in Cloudsdale, longing to grow up to be a Wonderbolt, the best unit of knights in Equestria. She goes to the tavern every night, and listens to the tales of glorious battle and heroic duels told by the bard. She dreams of saving the damsel, serving her lord, and being admired as the best knight in the lands.

So what does she do when she witnesses her first real duel?

This is just something short and simple I wanted to write, both playing on the trope of what people think a sword fight is, compared to the reality, and as a bit of a tie-in with a bigger universe and story that I’m working on. Hopefully you all like it! :raritywink:

An interesting coming of age; I liked it a lot. A few typos aside, you have a nice style that doesn't dwell too long on the action, or cut through it too fast. Nice work! My only concern was that the ponies in this story seem to have hands. I recommend cutting the H-word out of the story completely. phbbhbhht anthro tag.

Thanks for writing!

That’s because they do have hands. If you look, this story has the anthro tag. I just can’t quite see the ponies as they are in the show using swords. Yes, I’m aware they exist in the show, but it makes no sense and my brain hurts thinking about it, so any story of mine that uses weapons like that, will typically be anthro.

No problem! Thanks for the comment! And, yeah, typos come from the fact that I often lack the energy to edit the story properly after I’ve written it. Anything you see, feel free to point out and I’ll try and go in and fix it at some point. :raritywink:

An interesting story. Can't say I'm familiar with the anthro stories. So they have hands, but are otherwise horses?

Basically, yeah. Hands and bipedal motion, like a human, but otherwise animal features and characteristics.
