Silverstream’s breath kinda smells like fish right now and that’s the only flaw I can pin on her. Her beak and claws are polished. Her mane has that wild...windswept...thing going on.

“What’s up?” she asks.

“You’re literally perfect,” I tell her. I put a little growl into my voice to make it clear that I’m seething in rage.

In an unfortunate work accident, Calamus--a weather pegasus--has lost his hearing. His lifelong friend Syrinx volunteers to teach him Pegasus Sign Language, and in the process the two learn more about each other than either expected.

It was a chance encounter at the night of the Grand Galloping Gala that led to Fluttershy and Princess Luna becoming friends. But as the moons passed and their friendship deepened, the shy pegasus started to realize that what she felt for the Princess of the Night was more than mere friendship.

It was something she had never expected. But now, at the night of Hearth’s Warming Eve, Fluttershy knew it was a path she had to tread if she wished her feelings to be known.

Hearth's Warming is not a holiday that Starlight Glimmer gets very sentimental about, but whereas her past holiday experiences were usually adequate or merely forgettable, spending this precious time with Trixie leaves her feeling far more conflicted than normal. Depression spikes for some ponies at this time of year, but being in a partly long-distance relationship doesn't help either.
