Takes place in an alternate universe where Celestia and Luna used the Elements of Harmony to slay King Sombra.

Celestia and Luna are no more. The sun and moon have collided, and the heavens torn asunder in the aftermath of their final battle. The Elements of Harmony are missing, presumed forever lost. The fiends of Tartarus are on a rampage, and no one can stop them. And to make things perfect, the ruler of the nation of Boardor has decided to invade.
Desperate, Clover the Clever's last living student gathers together 108 virgin mares, in order to perform a ritual that will revive King Sombra. They succeed... kinda.
A human, in King Sombra's body, suddenly finds himself in an Equestria in a downward spiral with a bunch of technicolor ponies begging him to save them. Convinced that he's either dreaming, stoned, or insane, he tries to go along with it as best he can, although the voice in his head, a very angry voice with a hunger for conquest, crystals, slavery, and stairs, isn't doing much to instill confidence in his own sanity...

King Sombra survived his defeat, but just. By the time he returned to form, Twilight became the newest princess of Equestria and the Crystal Empire was restored to its former glory.

He cannot take over Equestria the same way he tried before, but he has a card up his sleeve. Twilight won't see it coming, and Sombra might gain a powerful ally in the process.

Marked Defiance (Mark for short), a mischievous unicorn, not to mention apprentice to Equestria's Royal Tactician, finds himself in a whole new and dangerous world by accident.

After being saved by a local named Lyndis, he is set on an adventure that will test his skills and quite possibly his sanity. But can he and the friends that he gathers, stop the forces threatening to destroy both worlds?

Almost pathetically incompetent when it comes to fighting, she is stranded at the entrance of a ruined palace, unable to escape due to her damaged wings. Fate, chance, or something stranger still has forced the two of them together. Hiro, through the medium of a small golden orb, has to win the changeling's trust and guide her into the depths, for the only chance that 8163264128 has for escaping the ruins is to reach the bottom of the catacombs beneath the palace, where a treasure beyond compare awaits... a wishing star. But between the two of them and their goal are fifteen floors of monsters, traps, sliding block puzzles, bosses, and more.

Given the successful befriending of Discord, Princess Celestia deems that no longer will villains be defeated but instead reformed. While most have the chance to submit willingly or continue to fight, King Sombra is given little option. Brought back from the dead and stripped of all his powers and strength, it's all become a game of futility. Now Sombra only wishes he could have stayed dead all along.

Ganondorf has been defeated by Link. Zelda is saved and the universe is unharmed. For the umpteenth time, Ganondorf must face the shame and misery of the destruction of his dream to the hands of an elf like boy with a metal stick.
Broken, the dark lord finds himself in another world after he reads from a magical book. Most would see it as a horrendous mistake of the gods, but the only thing Ganondorf calls it is opportunity. A new world, without the prophesy of a so called "hero". With the Triforce of Power in his hand, Ganondorf will now seize this pathetic new world and turn all of its hope into darkness.

(Sequel written by Bright_star) Link returns to Equestria and his friends, but there's a problem. He isn't the same hero they knew. Link's own Hyrule is being taken over by Ganondorf once again as he's transported to Equestria due to a spell from Twilight. How will the ponies handle this new Link? Will he adjust as quickly as he had before? What will happen while Ganondorf is still in power? (Twilight Princess Link, based after final fight, Midna has returned to the Twilight realm and destroyed the mirror.)

However, you always expect some kind of minor surprise, like your train arriving a little too late, or your ice-cream having vanilla taste rather than strawberry. But sometimes, life will give you surprises you could never predict. For Fluttershy, it was three little foals. But not her own foals, or even orphans. Three little foals that used to be her and her friends' most fearsome and dreaded foes.
