Hey guys! This is a little something fun I thought I'd do for the Halloween season. This is the Irish tale of how Jack-o'-lanterns came to be, pony-ized! Hope you guys enjoy!

It's Hearth's Warming Eve and Twilight's household is abuzz with activity. Some of this is activity that the little filly is familiar with, but so far, there are some things that take place behind closed doors that she has no idea about. Not simply the wrapping of presents, of course, but things she can't imagine a reason to hide.

Well, this year, on her seventh Hearth's Warming, she's not going to stand for it any longer. She's going to find out what the grownups are doing in the kitchen all this time. She's going to learn how it all works and hopefully, in the future, she's going to be able to help, in addition to how she helps prepare for the holiday already.

However, through the course of discovery and fulfilling her obligations, Twilight is going to encounter a question. A question that any child would be terrified to ask, but too curious not to.

Baked Bean, fresh off his victory over the sirens at Canterlot High, is now eagerly preparing for the arrival of his first child with his beloved Princess Celestia while still attempting to perform his royal duties.

But old foes still lurk in the shadows, and Celestia's pregnancy may offer a few unique challenges as well. It will take everything Baked Bean can give to endure the coming storm...

Or maybe he just needs to provide Celestia with a deep-fried pickle covered in chocolate sauce and smothered in sauerkraut.

It all started with an unexpected visitor. A single, curious individual from farther away than anypony could ever have fathomed. At first, a curiosity of a creature to be minded by the Princess' protégé. Then a spectacle as he took ponies where they had never gone before. And finally, an ambassador who brought an entire planet together with the simple realization that there are more important things out there than petty squabbles.

And it all almost went up in a fireball.

But friends don't let friends die so long as they have the power to rend the heavens on sheer force of will.

Now stuck in a hospital bed, Captain Randolph Edwards, commander of the one-man space mission to the anomalous planet known as "Equestria", must wait for a rescue that will be a year in the making... Minimum.
