The Draconic Apocalypse; a war between the dragons and ejge, has practically destroyed the world. Only a few pockets of every species has survived and are dotted around the landscape, but these are hardened veterans and their resistance is mighty indeed, but not enough.

All the survivors have all day are sharp scales singing through the air as they traverse dragon bodies and ejge being crushed against mountain walls, and Twilight Sparkle has had enough. Being one of longest living ponies in terms of life expectancy in these times -the expectancy being maximum twenty-four years of age- she seeks to travel back in time about seven-hundred and eighty-three years. A month before the King Dragon and Royal Ejge awaken at the same time, but to do this, she must convince Princess Celestia to prepare their defenses or kill the two creatures in their sleep.

Why then, does Twilight go into a berserker's rage and try to kill the princess whenever she sees her?

The story's beginning happens during the same time period as the show's current season.

After an urgent summon from Fancy Pants, both Celestia and Luna attend Day court. However, a new precedent is set when Fancy Pants presents a male alicorn to the two princessess, one he found dumpster diving behind his house.

Midnight Storm has had a hard life. She's wandered from city to city for the past three years, and they've all eventually run her out after they've found out what she is. Against her better judgement, she's placed her last hopes on the small town of Ponyville.

However, not everyone is so welcoming. Twilight and Luna's relationship is tested time and time again as disaster after disaster stricks Equestria. Will their bond be able to survive, or will it shatter like glass?

Princess Luna is supposed to be her sister's equal. She watches over 12 of every 24 hours, after all. But she isn't, and everybody knows it. Equestria adores the one who brings warm, sunny days, and ponies sleep through her nights. Even her sister sometimes seems to forget that she's supposed to be one of Equestria's ruling diarchs.

Luna seeks help from the only pony she thinks can make a difference: Star Swirl the Bearded. He provides a spell, one she can use to change herself into the pony she wants to be.

Unfortunately for her (and the rest of Equestria), things don't go quite as expected.
