The Piano Man has spent the last month in captivity, forced to play the piano as part of The Great and Powerful Trixie's traveling show. Now he's free, and recovering under the care of the Equestrian monarchy while Trixie awaits trial for her crimes.
All is not well, however. The Piano Man has a long road of recovery ahead, and all the time he must compete with overbearing carers, his own mental trauma, and even discrimination from members of Equestria's unicorn supremacist subculture.

This story is the kinda (can't stress that part enough) better-written sequel to 'The Piano Man'. Because the first story involved some rather dark scenes, I have included a helpful catch-up in the first chapter - so if you have no interest in reading a dark story, then you can ignore the first piece and skip straight ahead to this one.
'The Piano Man: Act II' is most certainly not a dark story, and neither is it sad. The sad tag is in place for scenes in which I reference the previous installment, and nothing else.

The absolutely amazing cover image was created by the even more amazing WIL_I_ZIN, (deviantART) who is just... just awesome, for helping out.

Marked teen for mild swearing.

(It has come to my concern that you all certainly think that all the humans will be ponified and the HLF will disappear...like every single Conversion Bureau fic that I've read. Well...THEY WON'T! This is MY story, so humans will stand a chance, and the HLF won't disappear. Oh, and spoiler alert).

Gill Tammerheight is your typical man with a weird first and last name. It was the year 2015, and the AIs and technology were being perfected. He needed some money, so he presented himself to the nearest research facility to test out a new stasis tube that had just been created. He was going to be paid heftily for the test. The best part is that he knew quite a few of the researchers there. The test was supposed to last a day with him in stasis, but an unfixable error occured, and he remained trapped within the tube. Now, thirty years later, he emerges to some weird scenario that happened to the facility, and he'll see that even worse has happened outside.

Unfortunately, his time in the tube has granted him a small and unnoticeable gift. Even he doesn't know about it. But, once he discovers what that gift is, he will be the target of every single pony and person that belong to the PER, the HLF, and many more. Gill Tammerheight just wishes he had stayed in that tube.

Sometimes, your inventions can bring about great good for humanity. And sometimes, they do the opposite. However, a single man actually did BOTH with his creations, and is one of the few survivors left on Earth after the "Ash fall". He decides, with his breakthrough in spatial rendering, to leave the destroyed Earth behind and go for a new world. He aims to go to a fresh Earth, where everything is as it should be, without his existence.

Unfortunately, he goes slightly off-course, and ends up in the wrong world. How will his technology get him through this?

If any of you don't like a little pseudo steam-punk, then you shouldn't read this, because the main character's technology is heavily influenced on its style...except for three certain things.

The beginning of the story was inspired by "Techno-Babble in Equestria" made by N64Fan. You should go check it out. It's pretty good.

That work of art is "Steampunk Wanderer" by amlaidgh. I only found the name of the artist, so I don't know where it could have been originally posted. The original version of this art seems to be "Wanderer above the sea fog" by Caspar David Friedrich.

*Warning this story and description contains massive Mass Effect 3 spoilers. Stop reading here if you care about that kind of thing.* For the record this is Male Paragon Shepard who uses Engineer as a class.

In an off limits system there is a strange planet that doesn't exist on Council records, but it appears to be emitting an unusual signal. Shepard brings the Normandy in to investigate.

Meanwhile, Celestia is trying to adapt to Luna's return. The younger sibling always had some radical ideas about how to manage the kingdom, and Celestia is finding it hard to hold her ground against Luna.

Adrian Parker is a man on a mission. After a strange purple pony from another world shows up at his house, he is determined to forget about it and return to a normal life. But the governments of the United States and the alien kingdom of Equestria have other plans. Will Adrian escape his destiny? Will the Americans convince him to serve his country? Will the Equestrians teach him the magic of friendship? No to all three, but it'll be fun to watch them try.

(Rated Teen for language and brief pony nudity.)
