A new 10 year old griffon comes to town who likes to build stuff.
He also attends school with Apple Bloom which both of them are partnered for a school project that is due at end of the school year.
They end up deciding to build a fully functional aircraft (which will be classified as an ultralight aircraft).
They think it will be nothing special will come out of it but the future tells a different story.

Equestria is at war and the world around it on fire. Everypony has been efected by the war. Even the young and the innocent aren't safe from the horrors of war. This is the story of those who fought in that war. And in some cases those who died defending what they believed in.

Scootaloo deals with her flightless wings and the problems that follow. She comes to a place where she lets her sorrows flow through. She dwells mostly on the thought that she can never change this problem of hers. That is until fate changes it for her with someone with the same problem.

(They say that sometimes, to write something classically great, you should step back and write something that is classically not. Of course, in theory you’re not supposed to publish those exercises. Join me now, as I test that theory.)

Landing on the forbidden planet Equus-1, the away team of the star ship Enterprise discovers that one of their number has actually visited there once before... as the ship’s command crew is rocked by the revelation of Scootaloo’s true parentage.

Meanwhile, a space armada of pirate ninja weasels prepares for the invasion of Equestria on behalf of their dread Lord of Darkness. Their first target? Princess Celestia, of course.

Also, there’s Captain Kidd. Or perhaps Fidel Castro. Maybe P. T. Barnum? I haven’t decided yet.

Anyway. The point is, you’ve been warned.

When Shining Armor woke up, he did not expect to find Flam sleeping next to him, crumpled up ransom notes on the ground, or Apple Bloom tied up in a closet. Lord Tempestus once lead armies under the banner of King Lunarum. Five crusades, five victories. Only, his final crusade ended in disaster with the banishment of the Crystal Empire. A thousand years later the Captain General is pulled out of the dungeon and brought back into the light. Without wars to fight, and with Equestria no longer in need of his military prowess he finds himself at a loss of what to do. Life finds him, and he decides to share his story with those who will listen.

Sweetie Belle can’t take the way her life is going at this point. Her sister abuses her to no end, her friends are detaching themselves from her, and she’s constantly being bullied by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. One night, while suffering the blows of her elder sister, the little filly snaps, and retaliates against Rarity, ending with a broken lamp and injured Rarity. Not knowing what to do, she runs away, hoping to escape the wrath of her sibling.
