This story is a sequel to Wishing Werelights

Before she had her cult town, Starlight Glimmer lived her life as a wanderer with a decaying mind. The mare's self-imposed isolation increases the instability of her corrupt ideals by giving them the chance to fester. Her inability to reconcile the loss of her friend Sunburst outlines some of her worst parts, which she jots down in a series of journals.

Here is one week of Starlight's entries.

Set before the events of the show and a prequel to the above story. Vaguely inspired by Regidar's Hypnagogic Drift and You Left Me Standing At My Front Door by milesprower06, but this is related to neither. The title comes from this song. Contribute to the TVTropes page!

There has long been a secret in Equestria, known only to those who have become mothers. It is known simply as the 'naming dream', a personalized dreamscape greeting from one of the princesses, where they praise the expectant mare for bringing forth new life, and give them a suggestion on what to name their foal. As almost every pony in Equestria has a name that lines up with their future endeavors, this suggestion is almost always taken to heart.

Unfortunately, it is not always the case. After seeing her daughter turn over a new leaf to help the "blank flanks", Spoiled Rich takes a look at herself, and her life. She has lived a privileged life, and is indeed spoiled. But why was she given the name Spoiled Milk? Only one pony in Equestria would have that answer: Princess Celestia.

Alternate take on Season 5 premiere:

What if the Mane Six followed Starlight into the cave? What if they caught her instead of letting her get away? What if there was also a human living back in Ponyville who had trouble making friends?

This story is an "adopted" story of my friend TheHardie-Boy's story of "Caught and Punished", and that story was inspired by Slave Starlight written by titanictime2

The prologue and chapters 1-4 are from TheHardie-Boy's version, but with some minor edits. Chapter 5 and the chapters afterward are completely written by me. Despite the "Sad" tag, this isn't going to be a downer story and it will have a number of light-hearted moments. There will still be some sad moments, of course.

Special thanks to TheHardie-Boy for giving suggestions to the story and proofreading the prologue, chapters 1, 2, 8, 11, 12, and 32, and flutterJackdash for editing chapters 3 and 5.

Foals have been disappearing from Starlight's village, and nopony knows why or where they have been taken. After one search party member returns with news of an alleged stranger and a monster in the cave where cutie marks are stored, Starlight decides to investigate. Puzzled by the strange occurrences around the place, she wanders into the tunnels of the cave system. Little did she know the caverns hide more than she thought.

Gilda looks to be down in the dumps, who could blame her. She lives in Griffonstone, which is one of the most miserable places in Equestria. Luckily, Gabby is one of the happiest griffons there ever was. But even her happy demeanor struggles to raise her friend’s spirit.

Then one day, the Idol Of Boreas has been found by a few ponies. They don’t quite know what it is, so they decide to hold onto it. However, one wants to hold onto it for a little while longer. Which is a bit weird, until they pass onto another creature.

First day on a delivery job that pays on commission, Arthur Pinkles (known lovingly as Parcel Post) receives a letter with a cryptic address leading to seemingly nowhere. New in town and with no bits to his name he'll have to search for the enigmatic 'Discord' the letter is addressed to. Getting food at some point couldn't hurt much, though.

As if things in Griffonstone weren't bad enough, the war between Celestia's subjects and Sombra's slaves has spread this far. Greed guides the reluctantly lent talons. The few gryphons that do fight can see that a brainwashing king has no intention of paying his mercenaries.

But that might not be enough to stop the fighting and get the ponies to take their problems off gryphon lands. On a whim, one gryphon chases down the last known location of the Idol of Boreas. If the legend is true, it might be the only thing that can save Griffonstone.

No creature wrote down exactly how it was supposed to do that.
---
Takes place in one interpretation of the "Sombra war" timeline. This story will most likely contain some degree of violence and mentions of death.
(Where is the Code Geass tag? Well, anyway... Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion belongs to Bandai, Sunrise Studio, and Goro Taniguchi.)

Starlight Glimmer knew that magic wasn't enough to manipulate ponies. To get them to see things as she knew they were and change themselves, she needed to say the right things. She would do more than bring ponies to water because her words would make them drink it too.

Double Diamond just knows he will be listening to Starlight Glimmer, and extra careful to obey. Anything to keep him away from that house.

After Luna and the citizens of Ponyville defeat the Tantabus, Twilight writes a letter to Celestia regarding the events, including an explanation of why the Tantabus came to be. Celestia is devastated at this news, and decides to confront her sister. Little does Luna know that she's not the only one facing so much guilt.
Based on Season 5, Episode 13. Told from Celestia's point of view.
(Also, rated Teen because I put, like, 3 cuss words in it.)

After four harrowing years of civil war brought about by Nightmare Moon's return, Canterlot has finally fallen. Princess Celestia has been banished to the moon, and now a new alicorn rules over Equestria. For the supporters of Nightmare Moon, the new eternal night is a time for celebration. For the ponies who fought for Celestia, it means something else entirely. For when the war is lost and the victor demands fealty, the vanquished are given only two choices: bow low and kiss the ground beneath her hooves, or die.

Not everpony who bows does so out of love for the conqueror, of course. Some do it to bide their time. Some do it out of a sense of opportunity. Most bow merely to survive. All of them are liars. But how long can a pony tell the same lie before it becomes the truth?

And what happens to that pony when their lies are lies no more?

Edited by SolidFire. Inspired by the Nightmare Moon timeline in the season 5 finale, a particular scene from a particular show, and an entertaining game of Equestria at War.
