Queen Chrysallis died in the aftermath of that ruinous invasion of Canterlot. But Tartarus would not be my afterlife, and death not my reaper. No, Ponyville is to be my purgatory, and my socially-inept roommate, Moon-Butt, my rather overly-enthusiastic reaper. I now live on borrowed time at the whims of my layabout of a roommate. To earn my freedom I must be able to not only prove that a changeling can live as a pony but also earn affection as one. But in between trying to get used to the notion that friends aren't food and learning to join the flash mobs in song and dance, I find that there is more to being a pony than meets the eye.

That was the good news. The bad news? I swear by the Ancient Ones, this useless sloth I have to share a room with is simply using me as an excuse to be an incompetent freeloader away from her sister's watchful eyes. You know everything has gone hooves-up when I'm the voice of reason. But bills need to be paid, bits need to be earned, and I have to somehow save up enough to move out of this flat. For my sanity's sake.

Synopsis

Greed strengthens a dragon. But what of the opposite? Spike feels a little bit of himself broken away with each passing day as Rarity flaunts her newfound love with another stallion. But that's the least of his troubles. A formal gala for which he is the guest of honour quickly approaches. With the relationship between the Council of Friendship and the nobles of Equestria at stake, he is certain this gala could only end in a big political disaster. Enter Princess Luna, cunningly disguised as the sweet elegant mare by his side, intent on turning him from a laughingstock into the star of the show. But jealousy and misfortune swiftly strike, leaving Luna permanently stuck in her disguise. Together they must maintain their cover until they somehow figure out how to fix everything. As the days pass, as the 'one more day's turn into a week, they slowly come to a startling realization - Perhaps there is nothing to fix?

Windigos, the frost spirits of Hearthswarming legends fame, are Equestria's secret peacekeepers tasked with preventing war at all costs, freezing any who dare threaten peace and harmony. Crystal Ponies, on the other hoof, are peacekeepers tasked with spreading Hope and Love through the Crystal Heart. They are one and the same, two sides of the same coin - Windigos in war time, Crystal Ponies in peace time. 'Frostfires', Starswirl once called them - ponies who grow cold in hate, who become warm in Love. With Equestria finally at peace Windigos are few and far between. It had been centuries since the Crystal Empire was last led by a Frostfire Emperor.

Warm Hug is a young blank flank crystal pony, seemingly incapable of the happiness and love required of his kind. Shunned by his kinsman, he spent years wandering. That was until Tirek's invasion of Canterlot forged an unexpected friendship between him and the unlikeliest band of friends.

But their friendship would be sorely tested when an apocalyptic snowstorm strikes all of Equestria and freezes the entire surface world. With Princess Celestia and Princess Cadence frozen solid and Warm Hug accused of high treason, will their Fire of Friendship light the way or will they fall prey to the frost consuming their world? With the world once again in turmoil, never have the Windigo peacekeepers been more loathed yet needed.

Sombra, or whatever it is the Crystal Heart left behind, has ventured forth and conquered his new domain behind the till at a McTrotnald's joint in Manehattan. As he seeks to consolidate and expand his newfound kingdom he quickly finds a host of potential new subjects to subjugate befriend. If only they weren't mostly mafia, bat gangs, changeling yakuza and bicycle ponies complete wackos after his hot sexy plot power and might....

Coco Pommel, a decent definitely-not-thestral, lives a decent life, works a decent job, earns a decent living. She is certain the fashion house she works for, Mane Event, is going places, even if it's currently stuck on the second floor above a McTrotnald's joint. She is oblivious to the fact that she is the much-coveted object of adoration of many stallions. She is oblivious to many things. But she finds it hard to be oblivious to the ruckus that comes from that fast food restaurant downstairs, harder still to resist getting dragged in...

Neither expected to ever end up stuck together, at least not this way. But as they quickly learn, there's no living on expectations in the poor but lively Manehattan slums of the Four Hooves District. Together with the band of misfits and social outcasts that make up their lives they must go out and seize it - their Midnight Empire.

Contains the following strong themes underneath: struggling against oppression, discrimination and biggotry, poverty and desperation,. This is a story of unity in diversity, of love and friendship that transcends differences, and the pursuit of freedom.

Worrying about her appearance after being worn out by both her wedding and the crystal heart incident, Cadence attempts a simple changeling-based youth spell. She ends up with a little problem. She ends up little, as in a little filly. With the Crystal North's big Winter Wrap Up, the Equestrian Games and her own honeymoon coming up, this simply would not do. Fortunately Twilight has a solution. Unfortunately it involves getting the help of a particularly reluctant changeling escort in exchange for making him Cadence's personal student of Love.

Twilight had never expected to ever meet Queen Chrysalis ever again. So it was to her great earth-shaking surprise when Chrysalis not only reappeared in her life but with a late Hearthswarming gift no less. It's half-changeling, half-pony, all mischief. Sure, she prefers a morning snuggle or two for breakfast and coccoons her carrots and alfalfa away, her idea of making her bed is building a giant changeling web in the bedroom, it's impossible to tell her from her school friends at pick-up hour, her favourite hide-and-seek hiding spot is the ceiling, and, worst of all, she never puts all the books she reads back on the shelf. And she reads a lot! Still, it was like raising any other filly, right? So Twilight Sparkle, accidental mommy, thought.

Warning: I have been told that chapter 3 is quite sad, just in case that's not your kind of thing. The rest of the story, however, is generally light-hearted. I would be very grateful if you don't judge the story by chapter 3 alone.

I'm a Butler. My friends, the imaginary ones at least, call me Butler. My job, looking after my lady, can be...challenging at times, but rewarding. Lately the job's become a little more difficult, especially after my lady's sister returned from the moon and the parliament decided to try and pass an entire bill just to be able to legally get rid of me. But managing the chaos is part of the job description, even if it means I must secretly become my lady's knight captain of her personal bodyguards in order to keep my job. Though even I could never have anticipated having to train knights cunningly disguised as maids to stay one step ahead of the nobles. Ah, the things I do for my princess.

1000 years the ponies have prayed for a saviour to deliver them, whether it was their long lost sun goddess Celestia, or even Nightmare Moon, maybe even the chaos lord Discord, anypony! After suffering under the yoke of a tyrant god for so long, they decided any saviour will do, even a dark demonic overlord. One unicorn sorceress finally decides to take matters into her own hooves. She sets out to the frozen ruins of a long lost Empire in the Crystal Mountains bearing a grand sacrifice of 1000 ponies in an attempt to summon the dark demonic overlord of the Crystal Empire.

When the dark ritual turned up a blank, the universe decides to shuffle in the next best thing. Will he rise up to the expectations of his newfound flock? He'd better, and quickly, for the tyrant god's inquisition is out to get him and the 1000 'blasphemers' involved in his summoning. With a nation to build and an evil tyrant god to fight, never has there been a taller order to fill. But it's alright, he's a dark demonic overlord, right? He quickly finds that with some smokes and mirrors and the help of 1000 very magical ponies, anyone can look the part, even an entirely magic-inert pizza delivery dude.

Somebody kindly messaged me and told me I should announce here that the story was featured from 27 - 30th of April. I completely missed that but many thanks for making that possible, everyone!

Changelings and ponies had always been natural enemies of each other, especially with the crystal ponies when they were around. Why wouldn't they be? Changelings were like parasites, feeding off the love that ponies gave off and driving them to illness.

However, Changelings had begun to decline. What started out with as seven hives have diminished down into three, all of which had gone into hiding so well that most ponies didn't know what changelings even were. Even Celestia had not seen one for quite a while, a long feat for an immortal pony.

Until she found a nymph. A new Changeling Queen.

Unable to find it within herself to abandon the changeling, Celestia ends up taking the nymph back to Canterlot under guise as Twilight Sparkle. The plan was simple; find the hive that Twilight belonged to and return her back to be raised with her race.

Of course, despite everything she learned through her long life, she had forgotten that things were never that simple.

For starters, she did not anticipate herself to grow fond of Twilight as time began to pass, or to beam in happiness when Twilight began to refer to her as mom.

The second is especially true for a mismatched group of individuals who, through pure coincidence, wind up being the only thing standing between their world and disaster.

Sequel to a previous story of mine, Through a Glass Mirror. It is highly recommended that you read that first, or else you will likely not have any idea what's going on. If you have read that story, then I hope that you will take the time to read this one, as well.
