A man with nothing much to live for in the world comes across the three sirens, Adagio, Sonata, and Aria after their defeat at Canterlot High. They have regressed down to a child like state and have lost all their memories. Cuteness and laughs are ahead but the future is not nearly as happy as it looks.

It’s very highly recommended that you read the original stories especially I Wasn’t There To Catch You as this is a sequel of sorts and it pretty much wraps it up. I promise the context will be worth it.

More than one thousand years ago, the world was a continuous string of wars. With nations at each other’s throats, leaders would place their trust in the assistance of mercenaries. But of all the mercenaries in the world, none were more feared than a special group known only as “The Cutters”. This group of three ponies, an earth pony and two pegasi were so feared that most nations would hesitate before hiring them. Mainly because their number one rule was to work for the highest bidder. Even if it meant killing their current contractor. With a past shrouded in mystery and a skill unmatched by any nation. these three mercenaries would kill without hesitation, without fear, and without mercy, a jewel for any nation’s military force. Yet there is more to them than what meets the eye.

When you try and use dark magic to take over Canterlot High, it never ends well.
The Dazzlings lost their powers and were thoroughly embarrassed by Sunset Shimmer, Princess Twilight, and company.

For Sonata, it didn't get much better. Fed up with her inherent ignorance, Adagio takes her frustrations out on Sonata, and kicks her out of the group. With nowhere to go, she winds up wandering the streets. Luckily for her, she wandered into the right place at the right time.

She'll be borrowing someone's kindness for a while.

Will Sonata be able to atone for her mistakes?

Author's Note: Originally, I planned to entirely change this. But I realized this provides me with a beautiful opportunity. A chance to explore a world of what-ifs. Sonata being saved by Vinyl after the Battle of the Bands could change the entire timeline from here on out. Let's go.

Tomorrow is the 950th Summer Sun Celebration, and with it, the bond between a nation and its princess will be renewed once more. For the 950th time, Celestia will take up the burden of rule, the worries of her people, and the divine task which she alone can fulfill.

Tonight, Celestia reaches the end of one journey. Tomorrow, she begins again.
