Sweetie Belle struggles to find a place between her ordinary life and the extraordinary one she just lived. At first, her friends and family are willing to "humor" her magic and science research she begins as a hobby, but they are forced to act when it starts to consume her social life and affect her mental health.

Lyra—a bit of a conspiracy theorist with an attraction to the occult—was otherwise a completely ordinary pony. With a recent discovery of ancient "precursor" technology and possible government cover up, however, she finds life has becoming far more interesting as she searches for the truth.

After enduring the task of adapting to being a filly and helping to stop a potential disaster from occurring, one would think that things are finally turning around for me. Sadly... fate will never be that nice to me. Now I have deal with ponies knowing that I was originally an alien, Twilight's desire to learn everything I know, as well as training a team of ponies to handle any interdimensional issues that could come to Equus thanks to Celestia's recklessness. My life just keeps getting worse.

Oh, and everypony said I'm also going to have to go through something else, but I didn't understand the word. Just give me a moment as I look it up. I think it started with a p.

While the others leave to forge a path in the stars for their fellow pony, Twilight returns to Earth with her boyfriend, Curt, to begin a project of her own; a guide to help ponies better adapt to very different culture.

Not long after their arrival on Earth, though, her plans take a dramatic turn. Between Curt's proposal to the discovery that humans have been developing magical abilities, the nightmare pony has her hooves full. It might seem like a simple spell. A truly basic working. All it does is change the color of something without altering a single other detail, and somepony just pranked Twilight with it. A minor joke, one with no real consequence. But it's still new magic, and so Twilight and Spike venture out to track the spell and caster across Ponyville.

You'd think a spell which merely changed colors wouldn't create so much trouble.

This story is a sequel to Beyond the Portal

After months of fear, and the near rebirth of the dreaded Old God Alp'tauum, the threat of the Sha has finally passed. With the aid of the Alliance, all six Sha have now been imprisoned. Equestria, in return, has joined the Alliance and sworn to aid them in their continued efforts against both the Horde and the Iron Horde.

Back on Equus, Kyle Slater finds himself juggling his responsibilities as a commander and his ties with his friends. On top of it all, he is still training Scootaloo in the ways of the Monk. But now that the Sha threat is gone, hopefully things will begin to calm down.

But with Equus now fully connected to the war-torn world of Azeroth, the door is open for new threats to emerge. Dark forces have set their sights on Equus, threatening the safety of the peaceful world once more. An ancient evil, locked away for millennia, has begun to stir.

And this time, the might of the Alliance may not be enough to stem the tide of darkness.
