Somewhere in the multiverse, there is a bar. It's small—the kind-of a hole-in-the wall place which you might find open late at night while walking down the streets of Canterlot City in the 1920's.

But unlike most bars, this one is not actually there… or rather, not where you think it is.

The entrance to Sunset's Isekai will be found in passing; an archway made of stone, emerging from a wall that you could have sworn had nothing there before, and in fact seems impossible to actually lead anywhere.

There, a door of solid oak—lovingly worked and stained to look almost golden-red—with a thick, crystal version of Sunset's cutie mark at eye level awaits visitors under the soft light of a gas lamp.

This door opens to all worlds, and can only be found by those that need that drink to be just the right type of different.

Note: This fic is best read like nursing your drink - Don't rush it. Enjoy each flavor for what it is. Don't mix it all up by reading it one chapter after the other in one sitting. It's intended to (mostly) work in a way that each chapter can be read without having to tackle through the rest of the story. (Also, for the last time, the concept for this is NOT based on Restaurant to Another World or any anime.)

Graduation was supposed to be a happy day for the Rainbooms. Sunset and Princess Twilight had both agreed to temporarily shut the portal to Equestria so they could leave CHS safe and sound while they went on a post-graduation band tour. However, instead of SHUTTING the portal, they somehow made it explode, shattering the multiverse and scattering the Rainbooms across countless different universes. Now, Sunset Shimmer finds herself face-to-face with creatures straight out of dreams and nightmares, from the pages of legend to the screen of cinema.

Her best chance to reunite with her friends and get home: a self-proclaimed "Giant Nerd" and his old jalopy of a car, both of which are native to a world of silent observers of the multiverse, including her own life with the Rainbooms. Between his guidance and her courage, the two of them are determined to reunite the Rainbooms and get them back home...

Even if that means facing ink demons, xenomorphs, genocidal time-looping children, or even Egyptian god cards.

((The most blatant of self-insert fics. I am 100% aware of that. This is just a project to help me unwind.))

This story is a sequel to SunLight Sliders

When a battered girl claiming to be Sunset Shimmer dropped out of an interdimensional portal into Twilight Sparkle's bedroom, little did Twilight know that she was about to be plunged into a chaotic journey through a multiverse that holds terror and wonder in equal measure.

Now, Twilight must uncover the secrets of this strange Sunset's past, survive the whims of something called Discord, cope with Sunset's eternally-changing hairdo, deal with dozens of doppelgangers--good and bad--of Sunset and herself, and worst of all... once again come face to face with a very real demon of her own creation.

And maybe, just maybe... find a way home.

The 32-Author SunLight Collaboration Project

About the Project:
Formerly known as SunLight Sliders II, this massive collaboration project was originally built in the SunLight Sliders FimFic Group. Feel free to check the original group forums for details on the project, the original material and more.

The project kicked off on January 1, 2018 and ended on April 22, 2018. The goal? Each author writes up to 1,500 words within 3 days, always picking up where the previous one left off. The result? A constantly evolving story about SciTwi and an unknown Sunset Shimmer sent careening throughout the multiverse.

SunLight Sliders: Infinite is being published so everyone's hard work can be seen. Please note that I take no credit for the story save for the chapters I wrote (Collaboration on the Prologue, Chapter 1 and the Epilogue). If you enjoyed a particular chapter, please be sure to check out the author who wrote it!

Continuity Note:
Despite the name, you don't need to SunLight Sliders to read this story. One of the explicit rules for this project was that no author could reuse any story element unique to SLS1.

Graphics Design Credits:
Cover Art & Design by Little-Tweenframes/Adge (SciSetDiaries), Overlord Neon and Novel-Idea
Cover Text, Chapter Header & Section Break Design by Novel Idea
Twilight Sparkle Cutie Mark by Intbrony
Sunset Shimmer Cutie Mark By Millennial Dan

Editing:
All Editing by Novel-Idea - Unlike the original SunLight Sliders, I did not do any edits beyond a fast pass on basic grammar and spelling. All chapters are almost exactly as their original authors wrote them. There have also been no story or perspective changes from the original save for the addition of the Epilogue and adding a hairdo for Sunny in Posh's chapter (thank you Albi)!

Learning how to be human, in the sense of both her physical body and her new outlook on life, has been an interesting process for Sunset Shimmer. Just as she starts to think she's figured things out through and through, something else comes to shake things up completely.

The latest such instance being when she learned her best friend had begun to think about their relationship in a whole new way.

And as Twilight and Sunset begin to explore what it means to care for one another the way they do, encounters with Twilight's family bring back moments in Sunset's life she'd long tried to lock away in shame. Resolving to confront some of the ghosts of her past in person -- albeit not quite in person -- the pair embark on a journey that brings Twilight to a brand new world, and Sunset to one she struggles to recognize, as both find themselves laying their souls bare before each other.

Cover art by Avery Day, who is pre-reading the story alongside Dewdrops on the Grass and The Sleepless Beholder.

While this story is not specifically a sequel, it is in continuity with two other fics: The Final Conversation and Milkshakes, Marionettes, and Midnight. The story begins late during the events of Legend of Everfree and diverges further from the canon timeline during "Dance Magic".

"Sunset, you weren't the first unearthly threat to come to this world, and you won't be the last. If we seem calm in the face of strange events, it's not because we're oblivious or indifferent to them. It's because they're not strange to us. The Fall Formal may have been the most important night of your life, but to us... it was Thursday."
