While the Doctor is working on a new invention for the science fair coming up in Ponyville, confident to win, his good friend Derpy decides to pay a visit. She pulls the lever on the machine and it swaps their bodies! Now ponies think Doctor is Derpy, and Derpy is the Doctor. Can they resolve this issue before the judging starts?

As everypony knows, Pinkie Pie can do impossible things. She can hover in midair without wings, play ten instruments at once, and even go days without breathing! Clearly some kind of magic is at work, but what could it be?

Pinkie decides it's finally time to tell her friends the whole, unvarnished truth.

The Great and Powerful Trixie is finally the successful stage magician she always dreamed of becoming. However, she can't stop thinking about Ponyville and went wrong for her there. When she brings her new show to town to try and repair her image, the only pony that will accept her is Twilight Sparkle. A conversation leads to a bet, and the bet leads to attempting a mind-swapping spell that fails and traps both Trixie and Twilight in the former's body. Can the two magically gifted ponies get along, and can they keep the mishap a secret from Twilight's friends until a solution can be found?
