Spike has been spending a lot of time with Flitter, a local pony in town who is (at best) an acquaintance of the Mane 6. Rarity sees this and launches straight into action, enlisting Twilight Sparkle's aid in getting to the bottom of Flitter's intentions with her dear Spikey-Wikey.

Sweetie Belle is starting to change herself and her world, thinking she's loser after a confrontation with Tiara. Spike is starting to wonder what is the meaning of life because he never can bedazzle Rarity. Suddenly these two become closer and their troubles melt away as Spike shows Sweetie she's perfect just the way she is.

Spike chose the wrong day to get lost in high school territory. Him and his friends just wanted to take a shortcut to get to the bus quicker so that they wouldn't be late. As they pass the windows of the Canterlot High gym, they hear someone fighting, then peek inside. He and his friends spot a boxer training, so with their interest at its highest summit they watch the mystery person train. Then as, they saw him go to the locker room, they decided to follow him to the next window.

However he is actually a she. A fearsome one at that.

When Twilight Sparkle finds a prophecy in the library of the old castle, she dismisses it as nothing. But when Spike reads it, he is chosen along with 4 others to protect Equestria by following the quest that will save them all from a new enemy. They will have to face rough seas, monsters, and new civilizations if they, and Equestria, are to survive.
