Three years have passed since Twilight Sparkle disappeared into Apochrypha, followed by her friends. Will Equestria have changed in their absence? Will Apochrypha have changed them?

An unknown future awaits, but whether it will be bright or dark is something known only to those who have the gall to claim they are a higher being, and even that might not be enough to foretell everything.

All the while, something from the distant past returns.

Grogar has a plan. To use a spell to zap all possible threats into his lair in order to eliminate them. The mane 6, Princess Cadence, Princess Flurry Heart, Starlight, the CMCs, Daring Do, the Wonderbolt mares, Mage Meadowbrook, Somnambula, and Mistmane are sent down. However, Grogar has made a grave mistake. Only mares were brought due to Grogar believing that the mares of Equestria pose a worse threat than any stallion that could be out there.

But he has underestimated the lengths that stallions will go to in order to protect the ones they love-er-are friends with. Yeah, that's what happens, no one has crushes, just friends here, nothing else!

Oh who am I kidding, whatever, the others are gonna find out in the story about each other's crushes.

Anyway, when the stallions find out, they are sent on the mission by Princess Celestia and Princess Luna to rescue the mares. But will they be halted by Grogar's 'minions'? Or will the unexpected happen?

Disclaimer: This is viewed as an alternate universe because Grogar and Discord are separate beings in this story.

This story is a sequel to On Second Thought...

After becoming the new rulers of Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends found themselves trapped in Tartarus easily, thanks to a plan from Empress Cozy Glow.

Why? Because the Mane 6 and Royal Adviser Spike gained the "uselessness" of ex-Princess Celestia and ex-Princess Luna.

Now, the only ponies that can save Equestria from Lord Tirek, Queen Chrysalis, Grogar, and Empress Cozy Glow, or the "Legion of Cozy" are Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Lulamoon. Really, it's all up to Starlight.

Will Starlight be able to find the power inside herself to defeat the Legion of Cozy? Or will the LoC be victorious? Starlight may be very surprised about what will eventually happen to her...

Enough will be explained to not require reading the prequel to understand this story (and laugh) but it would answer why Twilight and the others took over for Celestia and Luna, and it took place right after the season 9 premiere.

At the time this story was written, I didn't know what will happen in the season 9 finale of MLP:FIM, so there will be no actual spoilers for it. Any similarities between this AU story and the series finale is 100% coincidental.

A lot can change from one argument. Cozy Glow wanted nothing more but to be somepony else. Anyone else. Instead, she was this little powerless pegasus that did nothing but what her mother demanded... what her mother planned! She was sick of mother's plans. She was sick of her own name! So, the filly took it upon herself to pack her things and run.

She had some family in the Crystal Empire. Perhaps it would do her some good to visit them? Maybe they could understand her issue. Maybe they could help her?

What she didn't know however was that her greatest mistake would be stepping into the Empire itself. After she walked in... she never came back out.
When King Sombra took over and dragged the entire empire along with him down his one thousand year banishment a little filly was caught in the crossfire.

What if the events between seasons eight and nine went differently? What if Cozy Glow was actually good? Who would be there to redeem her? These are all questions many bronies have asked. This is my retelling of that time period.

Sunset Shimmer's been informed of the Cozy Glow debacle, and now she's worried about Cozy’s human counterpart. Is it wrong to suspect someone based on their parallel self’s sins? Snappy character vignette that gives equal POV time to Sunset and human Cozy trying to figure out just what the other’s deal is.

After escaping Tartarus and bonding with her new friends(?) Cozy Glow sent a letter to her father Svengallop to update him on everything that has happened in her life lately. After her mother, Suri Polomare, reads it she decides to check on her little filly. She wants to make sure Cozy is in good company, after all.
