This story is a sequel to Desperate Devotion

Married, happy and in love, Twilight and Chrysalis are in a good place in their lives. They're living in the Canterlot Castle, sitting where Celestia and Luna once sat. They have plenty of wonderful friends, and Equestria has been at peace for a long time. If things continue as they are, they could easily live simple, fulfilled lives until they grow old together.

Neither of them were ever very content with being content, though.

After a long time spent discussing it, they finally decide to have a child, and in typical over-the-top fashion decide to have Equestria's first ever half-pony, half-changeling child.

They have no idea what's coming.

While this is a sequel to Desperate Devotion, it's set many, many years in the future. Things have changed, some of which I've written the stories of, others which I haven't. You should be able to follow along no matter what you've read beforehand, (you don't even really need to read Desperate Devotion honestly) but the status quo won't be quite what you might expect.

Celestia likes her routine. Tax reforms, grants, laws and construction projects are all a princess needs to be content.

It's just her luck that for Pinkie Pie, "content" is not nearly enough.

After Sunset is blasted by the Elements of Harmony and left in the human world again, she struggles with the consequences of her actions. But even if everybody hates her, there are five girls willing to help her redeem herself.

Meanwhile, a certain blue-skinned magician is more than interested in Sunset's knowledge of true magic.

In the wake of her friends' plan to curb her egotistical nature, Rainbow Dash has her life turned upside down and finds herself pulled in every direction as she is saddled with more expectations, responsibilities, problems, and some romance thing that anyone can see coming.

Too bad for her nopony asked if she wanted any of it.

It was never supposed to end like this.

Princess Cadance has saved all of Equestria from the changeling threat. What comes next isn't going to be half as easy.

One wedding may be cancelled, but a new engagement has begun.

Warning: This is an attempt to make the Cadance/Chrysalis ship work, without too much darkness (though there will be some), or it leading to an inevitable bad end. If you hate this idea, believe that Cadance ending up with Chrysalis is automatically a bad end regardless of circumstances, or just think it's plain impossible to pull off then please move on as this fic is probably not going to be for you.

Still if you want to see if this pretty cracky ship can somehow be made to work, and have some fun along the way, then this just might be the fic you are looking for.

If you still hate the concept enough that you feel that you have to hit the dislike button, then fair enough, but if you find something else objectionable then please post a comment, or basically I'm going to assume that you're just disliking the ship rather than the story and ignore you.

The Sex tag is there for some of the humour, some implication to off screen activities, and a few bits on screen that while are no where near the mature rating do push things somewhat compared to the rest of the fic. If you're wondering where the Comedy tag went I decided while I do believe there's a lot of fun and amusement to be had, I can see why it might mislead some readers as some of the events are taken more seriously that you'd expect from an all out comedy.

Following the events of Boast Busters, Trixie decides to hide from the town (and Rainbow Dash in particular) by taking cover in the Everfree Forest.

Trixie discovers not every problem can be outrun, and sometimes facing them can have unexpected consequences.
