Chapter 50: Exeggutor Island Troubles

Thanks to some of the ledges that made it easy for them to take a shortcut, getting back to the Seafolk Village took no time at all, "Ok, so what happens now?" Zach asked.

"Well, I'm going to go talk with one of the captains to see if he can take these four to Exeggutor Island. There, the alter where the Sun Flute is located," Hapu replied, motioning to Will, Fluttershy, Silver Spoon and Toby.

"Why only four?" Lincoln asked.

"A few reasons. For starters, the boat owned by the captain I'm going to talk to is too small for a group this big, and secondly, Exeggutor Island is crawling with wild Pokémon, including Exeggutor. It's too difficult for rookie trainers like y'all," Hapu explained, before going off to talk with the captain.

"Ah doubt there's anything really to do while you guys are off adventurin'," Liam commented.

"Well, if you want, I was thinking of having both my Vulpix and Pikachu evolve. They've been doing a lot of training in a series of nearby islands, so I think they're ready to evolve," Toby offered.

"I'd kind of like to see this for myself," Ronnie Anne commented, as the rest of Lincoln's friends agreed.

"Well alright then. Vulpix and Pikachu, come on out!" Toby said, releasing both Pokémon, "Now then you two, I know I haven't used you two in a while, but would you be willing to let me evolve you?" Toby asked, pulling out a Fire Stone and a Thunder Stone. Vulpix ran up, and licked Toby's cheek in agreement. Pikachu also dashed to Toby, and nuzzled him, "I guess they're both on board," Toby said, as he gently tapped both Pokémon with the respective stones. Almost instantly, they began to evolve. Vulpix became a gorgeous Ninetails, and Pikachu evolved into an Alolan Raichu.

"So that's how evolution works for Pokémon?" Rusty asked.

"At least for Pokémon like Vulpix and Pikachu. They both need items to evolve. Other Pokémon species need a certain level of experience to evolve, or need to be close to their trainers. The time of day and location can also have an effect on evolution," Will explained.

"And there are some Pokémon that can only evolve through trading with other trainers. I traded a Magby awhile back for a Pokémon called Kadabra, which evolved into an Alakazam as soon as I received it," Toby added.

"Ninetails looks so pretty," Girl Jordan commented, eyeing the newly Fox Pokémon, "With fur like that, I'm almost jealous," she added.

"Ninetails, the Fox Pokémon, a Fire Type. It is said that each of it's tails contains a mystic power that allows it to live for 1000 years. Raichu, Alola Form, the Mouse Pokémon, an Electric and Psychic Type. It rides it's tail and controls electricity with psychokinesis. Mnay researchers speculate Raichu took this form due to a diet of fluffy Alolan Pancakes," Rotom explained.

"So, this Pokedex thing you told us about gives us the low down on any species of Pokémon?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"Yep! This Pokedex also has a Pokémon inside it called Rotom, which acts as a sort of A.I. program," Lisa replied.

"Uh huh, I see," Ronnie Anne commented, her tone carrying a hint of distrust. The rest of Lincoln's friends also has untrusting looks on their faces.

"I guess your friends aren't too keen on hanging around your sisters?" Silver Spoon asked Lincoln.

"Yeah. After the Luck incident, my friends don't exactly trust any of them," Lincoln replied, as Toby recalled both Ninetails and Raichu, just as a woman came walking up to the group.

"Excuse me, boy? That was an Alolan Raichu I just saw you recall, yes?" the woman asked.

"Yes. I just evolved it from my Pikachu," Toby replied.

"In that case, then why don't you take this?" the woman asked, giving Toby a Z Crystal, that looked to have a symbol of an Alolan Raichu's tail in the center, "That is Alolraichium Z, a Z Crystal that only Alolan Raichu are able to use. It upgrades Thunderbolt into a Z Move called 'Stoked Spark Surfer'," the woman said.

"Thank you very much!" Toby gratefully replied.

"You're very welcome," the woman said, as she left, just as Hapu returned.

"Alright you guys, I talked to the captain. He's waiting to take you to Exeggutor Island on that front most dock," Hapu said, as she took her leave.

"Alright then guys, we shouldn't be too long. Just hang out around the village while we're gone," Will said, as he led Toby and Silver Spoon to the front docks, while Fluttershy crouched down in front of Serenity.

"Serenity, why don't you stay behind too? From what we've been told, the Pokémon we're bound to encounter are going to be plentiful and strong," Fluttershy advised.

"O-Ok Mommy," Serenity replied sweetly, as she shared a quick embrace with her mother, before Fluttershy went back to the others, were just beginning to board the boat, which was shaped like a Magikarp.

"Is everyone on board?" the captain asked, counting four trainers, "Alright then, the voyage shouldn't take too long," he said, as the boat pulled away from the harbor, and made it's way to a nearby island.

Meanwhile, at the Pokémon League Stadium,

"So, let's recap what you've told us. We came through a wormhole from our world, and this world is full of creatures you call 'Pokémon', and this whole stadium is being built for a big tournament in which 'Pokémon Trainers' come to battle each other with their Pokémon partners for a shot at being the first ever Champion of this 'Alola' place. Did I get that right?" Ross asked the head foreman, who was overseeing the construction of the stadium.

"That's about sums it up. We were commissioned by the Aether Foundation, which is a corporation for the preservation of Pokémon that have been abused either by humans or other wild Pokémon, to build this entire thing. We're nearing completion now as a matter of fact," the foreman replied.

"Ok, but wouldn't making these 'Pokémon' things technically be considered abuse?" Rhonda asked.

"Not at all. Pokémon often battle each other in the wild, without any trainers. Trainers catch Pokémon and help guide them in battles to make them become stronger. In a way, you could say that Pokémon Battles are actually popular sporting events, rather than abuse, especially since Pokémon willingly battle for their trainers," the foreman replied, before noticing something, "Hey! That doesn't go there!" he yelled, rushing over somewhere.

"Well, at least now we know where we are," Rachel commented.

"The question now is how do we get home?" Randy pondered.

"Well, from the information I gathered, apparently, those 'Ultra Wormholes' as the workers described, are what got us here, and that they happen at random. In other words, getting back to Royal Woods is going to be a bit of a challenge," Ross replied.

"Well, I for one want to get as far away from these 'Pokémon' things as possible! If they're anything like that awful Duel Monsters game Lincoln plays, then I don't want to be anywhere near them when they attack!" Lynn Sr. whimpered.

"Don't worry Lynn. I'm sure the tournament organizers won't allow trainers to attack one another with their Pokémon," Rita reassured.

"Hang on a minute. The last time I visited you both in jail, you said that some of the monsters and spells that were used in Lincoln's match against his sisters were cool," Ross pointed out.

"I do remember saying that. But I still can't overlook the fact that the game pieces are still monsters!" Lynn Sr. retorted.

"Well, just be sure you know what you want to say to Lincoln when you two see him again. After all, whether or not you both get your kids back will depend on whether or not Lincoln is willing to forgive you," Ross stated.

"And at least the workers are going to let us stay here while they work. I mean, it's not like they have anywhere else to send us," Rachel pointed out, as they left the work area.

Exeggutor Island,

"Alright, here we are, Exeggutor Island!" the captain said, as the boat pulled into the dock. Exiting the boat, the four trainers noticed some Alola Exeggutor, swinging their heads around, "Huh, the Exeggutor are shaking their heads more erratically than usual. Hope nothing's wrong," the captain said.

"We'll check it out. Hopefully we won't be long," Will said, as he and the others hoked up the nearby incline, which led them to the area where the Exeggutor were at. Fluttershy then noticed several brown things on each of the Exeggutor's necks.

"Hey, what are those?" she asked, pointing to the brown things.

"They look like Pinsir! That must be why the Exeggutor are behaving so crazy," Will theorized, as the Pinsir took notice of the trainers, and leapt down to confront them.

"Looks like they want to battle," Toby commented, readying a Pokeball, as did the others.

"Alright, go, Lairon!" Will exclaimed, releasing Lairon.

"Steelix, we need your help!" Fluttershy said, releasing Steelix.

"Turtonator, to my side!" Toby yelled, releasing Turtonator.

"And finally, Goodra, come on out!" Silver Spoon said, releasing Goodra. All the Pinsir then lunged at the group.

"Lairon, use Rock Slide!" Will instructed. Lairon then hurled large rocks at the Pinsir, who stubbornly got back up.

"Steelix, use Stone Edge!" Fluttershy instructed. Steelix then summoned several glowing blue rocks, which was able to knock out one of the Pinsir.

"Turtonator, quick! Use Flamethrower!" Toby instructed. Turtonator then started spewing flames, which knocked out all but one Pinsir.

"Now Goodra, use Muddy Water!" Silver Spoon instructed. Goodra then summoned a wave of Muddy Water, which was able to take out the last Pinsir.

"And that's that," Will commented. The Exeggutor then began rejoicing, as one stepped over to a ledge. It then beckoned the four to come over.

"Maybe the shrine is up there?" Toby wondered.

"Could be. Thanks for this, Exeggutor!" Will said, as the four of them climbed it's base, and followed the path up towards the very top of the hill, where a shrine was located. There, an orange flute with a sun crest was located at the alter.

"Is that it?" Silver Spoon wondered.

"Looks like it. With this, we can call upon Solgaleo to help us get to Lusamine and Guzma!" Will said, as he took the flute from it's resting place, "Alright, so we got the flute. Now let's get back to Poni Island," he suggested, as they made their way back to the pier.

Back at the Seafolk Village,

After they got back from Exeggutor Island, the four trainers made their way to the Pokémon Center to heal up their Pokémon. Upon entering, they saw their friends, all sitting around the lobby, "Hey guys! Did you get the flute?" Lana asked.

"Yep! As soon as we get our Pokémon healed up, we'll set out for the Alter of the Sunne," Will replied, as he and the others gave Nurse Joy their Pokeballs.

"So, what have you all been up to?" Toby asked.

"Well, we've been going over the possible Trials that we're most likely going to face. Since Hapu has been crowned the Kahuna of Poni Island, she's most likely going to use Ground Types for the Grand Trial. We still need to do the Grand Trial on Ula'ula Island, and the Kahuna there specializes in Dark Types. So that just leaves Dragon and Fairy Type trials. Given the rough terrain of Vast Poni Canyon, we should expect the Dragon Type Trial to be located somewhere in there. As for the Fairy Trial, I haven't a clue where that could be," Lincoln explained.

"Ok, so for Dragon Types, we need Ice, Fairy, and other Dragon Types, and as far as Fairy Types go, we need either Poison or Steel Types," Will replied.

"I'm impressed you came up with these ideas in such a short amount of time," Silver Spoon commented.

"Yep. Lincoln's always been a strategist. That's... how he got us to change our ways," Luna replied awkwardly.

"That's putting it mildly," Girl Jordan bitterly snarled, causing Lincoln's sisters to wince.

"So, what happened, exactly?" Toby asked.

"Well, it all started after I was banished from the house," Lincoln replied, as he began to tell the tale.

Flashback,

Lincoln was miserably trudging through the streets, still in his PJs. He felt completely stupid for thinking carrying on the lie of Bad Luck just for some free time, "Stupid family. I guess they only support family they consider to be worth calling family," Lincoln grumbled, unaware of a police car, with a certain pair of adults inside.

"Hey, isn't that Lincoln?" Randy asked, spotting the middle Loud child. Ross then noticed the miserable kid too.

"Yeah, it is! But why is he in is PJs, and away from his home this early in the morning?" Ross wondered. Randy pulled the car over to the side of the road, right next to Lincoln.

"Hey, Links! How's it going?" Randy greeted.

"Uncle Ross and Uncle Randy? I guess you both are on patrol, right?" Lincoln asked rhetorically. Both cops took note that Lincoln's tone had bitterness in it.

"We were when we spotted you. Now, why are you this far from your home and in your PJs?" Ross asked. Lincoln clenched his fists in anger, and gritted his teeth.

"My family is why," Lincoln seethed. It was clear that Lincoln was angry.

"Why don't we take this to the station? You can give us the low down there," Randy suggested, unlocking the car door, allowing Lincoln to get in.

15 minutes later,

Later, at the Police Station,

"Ok Lincoln, so what does your family have to do with your current situation?" Ross asked.

"Well, you see, it's like this," Lincoln said. The scene was then relocated outside of the police station.

"WHAAAAAAAAT?!" both uncles yells caused a flock of birds to take off.

"So, let me get this straight. After you were forced to attend Junior's game, she pinned her loss on you, by calling you 'Bad Luck', which gave you the idea of using a phony superstition to get some free time, which eventually led to your family not only boarding up your room, but also forcing you to sleep outside like an animal and refusing to let you in?!" Ross yelled in outrage. Lincoln flinched, but retained his composure.

"Yeah, which was a stupid move on my part. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold my stuff!" Lincoln almost screamed, pounding his fist against the table, "I swear, there oughta be a law against that kind of action," he growled.

"There is a law against what your family did," Randy replied. This caught Lincoln's attention, "Whether or not luck is real, locking you out is considered a felony in the U.S., punishable by jail. But don't worry Links. We're going to get you the justice you deserve!" Randy declared. Just then, Lincoln had an idea.

"You know, Lynn is going to have another Softball game later today. If you can search the house while they're gone, then I have an idea on how we can not only catch them, but show both of my 'parents' just how bad they are at being parents," Lincoln stated, catching the attention of both cops.

"We're listening," Ross said, crossing his legs and folding his arms.

"Well, I'm sure you both are aware that my 'Dad' hates Duel Monsters."

Meanwhile, at the Royal Woods Softball Field,

The Louds were celebrating Lynn Jr's win, praising her for her victory, "We literally knew you would win!" Lori commended.

"And as a special treat, we're all going to get frozen yogurt!" Lynn Sr. proclaimed, inciting more cheers from his daughters.

"And it's all thanks to getting rid of that no good jinx. Without his bad luck ruining things for us, winning was a breeze!" Lynn Jr. boasted, as they all piled into Van-zilla.

"Hey Pop Star, how about some tunes?" Luna asked.

"Sure!" Lynn Sr. replied, as he turned on the radio.

"And finally, Lincoln Loud has chosen to finally reveal himself as the Royal Woods Duel Monsters Champion, and is holding an open tournament to anyone who wants a shot at his title!" the immediate radio broadcast surprised the Louds, but not in a good way.

"WHAT?! Lincoln plays that horrific game?!" Lynn Sr. sounded close to blowing a blood vessel.

"Well, who cares what he does? He's not our problem anymore!" Lola declared, not knowing how horribly wrong she was.

"Bad luck or not, Lincoln still has to follow the rules of the house! We're heading to the stadium to collect him!" Lynn Sr. proclaimed, getting several protests from his daughters.

"But Dad! Lincoln's bad luck! We can't risk anything bad happening to us!" Leni pleaded, only to go ignored by her father, who drove towards the stadium.

"But one thing puzzles me about that broadcast. Lincoln's usually good at keep secrets like this. So why would he reveal himself now?" Lisa wondered.

"What are you talking about, Lisa?" Luan asked.

"The fact that Lincoln revealed himself over the radio about being the champion Duel Monsters player. He knows how our father unit feels about the game," Lisa explained.

"In less nerd terms?" Lynn Jr. rudely asked.

"What I am saying is that we may be walking right into a trap," Lisa replied, only to be laughed at by her sisters.

"Please, Lisa! Lincoln's not smart enough to lead us into a trap!" Lola retorted.

"And even if he were to get us caught, it would just prove he's bad luck!" Lynn Jr. added, as they arrived at the stadium, which was barren for some reason.

"Huh, I would've thought more people would be here," Leni commented.

"We won't be long girls," Rita said, as she and her husband marched towards the stadium, unaware that things were about to get much worse for them. And none of them noticed several cop cars in the other parking lot.

Inside the stadium building,

Rita and Lynn Sr. were making their way through the halls, intent on finding Lincoln and giving him an earful for breaking their rules. They soon found themselves in front of a big door marked "Champion Quarters", "This looks like the place," Lynn Sr. commented, as he swung the doors open. At the far end of the room, both parents saw their son, looking like he hadn't a care in the world, along with Ross, who had a look of disappointment on his face upon seeing the Loud Parents. But they weren't concerned about the detective. Their main priority was their son, "Lincoln Marie Loud! You are in so much trouble!" Lynn Sr. wasted no time in storming over to his son.

"Eh, I doubt I'm in any trouble. At least, compared to you and your wife," Lincoln shot back with venom in his words. This shocked both parents.

"Lincoln, we're not playing games here! You are coming back with us!" Rita demanded.

"Oh, so you're taking him back now?" Ross questioned.

"Butt out Ross. This has nothing to do with you," Rita rudely snapped. Just then, Ross' walkie-talkie went off.

"Ross! We found some evidence! Rita and her family did seal off Lincoln's door and sold all of his belongings!" Randy said, which caught the attention of both Loud Parents.

"I see. What about testimony from the neighbors?" Ross asked.

"From what we gathered, Rita and them refused to let him into their house, even when Lincoln confessed to lying," Randy replied. Ross nodded.

"Alright. I'll se you back at the station," Ross replied.

"Ross, what was Randy doing at our house?" Rita drilled for information out of her younger brother.

"We got a tip that there was a case of severe child abuse in your home, and Randy just confirmed it," Ross explained, as several cops stormed into the office, and quickly handcuffed both parents.

"What is going on?!" Lynn Sr. yelled.

"Tell me something. Are you aware that what you did to Lincoln is against the law?" Ross asked.

"Since when is it unlawful to get rid of something potentially dangerous?!" Rita snapped.

"There's been a law stating that all minors under the age of 18 MUST have acceptable shelter, regardless of circumstances. And it's not just evicting Lincoln from you home that's a problem. Randy told me, before you got here, that there are several hazards around your home. Rotting staircases, inadequate plumbing, that kind of thing," Ross explained.

"Yeah but," Lynn Sr. was cut off.

"Save it for the judge! Rita and Lynn Loud Sr., you are both under arrest, for crimes against minors. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and WILL be used against you in a court of law. You also have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, then one will be appointed to you," Ross said, as he motioned for the cops to take both parents out of the stadium, "I take it you have no qualms about this?" Ross asked his nephew.

"No. It's high time they learned no deed goes without consequences. The same goes for my sisters," Lincoln replied.

"Speaking of your sisters, they're also going to be taken into custody. As far as the courts will see it, Rita and Lynn made their daughter accomplices in their crime," Ross commented, as he left the office, "See you at the courthouse," he said, as he left.

"I honestly can't feel bad for doing this to them. They had it coming for too long," Lincoln commented, as he placed a picture of him and his family face down on the desk, "Well, they had to learn their lesson sooner or later."

Realtime,

"And that's basically how our parents got arrested," Lincoln explained.

"Yikes. I know it's illegal to evict a minor from a home, but for them to only come after you because of a game? Your parents are seriously messed up. No offense," Will apologized.

"No, no. You're right to say that. Their style of raising us was lazy and flawed, so of course they aren't very good parents," Lincoln replied.

"So, what happened after that?" Silver Spoon asked.

"Ah yes. Well you see, we all were brought into court, where the law would efficiently punish my family," Lincoln replied, as he began to tell the next part of the story.

Flashback

In a courtroom,

"Please rise for the honorable Judge Markus!" the bailiff boomed, as the Judge took his seat at the stand. Everyone in the courtroom stood up.

"Please be seated!" the Judge said. Everyone then took their seats, "What is the case?" he asked.

"The case of Lincoln Loud VS Rita and Lynn Loud Sr. and their Daughters," the bailiff declared.

"What are the charges?" the Judge asked.

"Child abuse, theft, and poor living arrangements, you honor!" the Prosecutor replied. This got some murmurs from the crowd.

"Order, please, order in the court!" the Judge pleaded, banging his gavel.

"I'll have the taco salad!" Leni commented. Luan giggled at Leni's absentmindedness.

"Wrong type of order, young lady," the Judge dismissed, before returning his attention to the prosecutor, "Care to elaborate on the case?"

"Certainly. According to the testimony, Mr. Lincoln Loud's family evicted him from his own home on the basis of the biased superstition of 'bad luck'. Their parents did nothing to put a stop to this selfish behavior, and instead sided with their daughter's for the sake of self preservation," the prosecutor explained, gaining a few shocked gasps from the crowd, "It gets worse. Not only did they board up Mr. Loud's bedroom, but they also sold all of his personal belongings, and kept the proceeds to themselves, proceeds, mind you, that they have no legal right to. And finally, based on the testimony we got from an officer that got evidence from the home in question, we have determined that there are several safety hazards in their home; rotting floorboards, broken door knobs, poor plumbing, and the like," the prosecutor concluded.

"What do the defendants plead on account of these charges?" the Judge asked.

"We're not guilty, your honor! This whole thing is a complete waste of time! The only reason we're here is because of Stinkcoln's bad luck!" Lynn Jr. declared.

"Now Junior, settle down. We're in a court room," her father pleaded.

"Will the prosecution call their first witness?" the Judge asked.

"Certainly, your honor. I'd like to call the one and only victim of this whole mess to stand, Lincoln Loud," the prosecutor declared, getting several angry protests from the middle child's sisters.

"You can't do that!"

"He's bad luck!"

"He's just going to lie to make us look bad!"

"ORDER IN THE COURT!" the Judge boomed, slamming his gavel, as Lincoln took the stand. The bailiff approached him with the bible.

"Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?" he asked. Lincoln placed one hand on the bible, and raised the other.

"I do solemnly swear to tell the entire truth," Lincoln pledged.

"Ok then, Lincoln. You look like a good kid. So tell me, what led your family to kicking you out of your own home?" the prosecutor asked.

"Ok, here's what happened. I was planning to enjoy a nice, relaxing day to read some of my Ace Savvy Comics, when my sister, Lynn asked me to come to her softball game to support her. I had declined, as I wanted some time to myself after supporting six other sisters at their events. It was then that Lynn decided the best persuasion method was to threaten me with her softball bat," Lincoln explained, gaining gasps from the courtroom, "So of course, I came to her stupid game, where her team ended up loosing. Being the kind brother I was, I went to commend Lynn for her efforts. And do you know what she did? She blamed her loss on ME! She immediately claimed that I was the reason she lost because is was, as she put it, 'Bad Luck'," Lincoln explained. The rest of the family turned the anger they had towards Lincoln to the sporty teen, who glared hatefully at her brother.

"I see. But I doubt the fact your sister being a bad sport was what warranted the rest of your sisters and parents to kick you out. Am I right?" the prosecutor asked.

"You're right about that. So, a little later, Leni asked if I was going to come support her at her fashion event, when Lynn told her not to invite because of my supposed 'bad luck'. That's when I got the stupidest idea I ever had in my life; I decided to carry on the lie just to get out of going to the rest of my sister's events," Lincoln facepalmed at how idiotic he felt that day.

"So, you lied about being bad luck? Did it work?" the prosecutor asked.

"It did. And I loved having all the time in the world to myself. But soon, it became apparent that I should've stopped the lie when I had the chance, because even my parents began to ban me from activities that I would've liked to go to, like the movies. Not only that, but my sisters didn't even want to be in the same room as me for their sake. And then, they chose to board up my room, and force me to sleep outside like an animal," Lincoln vented, sounding like he was getting increasingly angry, but was able to keep himself composed. The Louds noticed that several people in the courtroom, including an elderly man with white hair like Lincoln, and an large woman with a large nose with a wart on it, were staring at the family with disappointment.

"I see. Did you attempt to persuade them to let you back inside?" the Prosecutor asked.

"I did. I even used a megaphone to speak clearly with them. But, they chose to stubbornly refuse to let me back in, and instead banished me from the house. Later that same day, I ran into my uncles on the police force, who helped me out, which brings us to right now," Lincoln replied.

"Interesting. Now then, is this the first time your family did something this selfish and/or dangerous?" the prosecutor asked.

"No. There are several more bad things they did, if not to me, then to each other, but I'll only tell of two other despicable deeds they've done. Case in point, Luan and April Fools Day, or 'Pranks-giving' as she and many of us call. She goes completely overboard with her pranks, some of them being even life threatening, but I'll let you interrogate her for that. And there was one time before this whole bad luck fiasco where my sisters practically drove me out of my own home for their own selfish purposes, namely, Lori and Leni's selfish purposes," Lincoln explained.

"One last question before you're done. What was the event with Lori and Leni?" the Prosecutor asked.

"Well, they got into a fight over a dress of all things, and the rest of my sisters formulated a flawed system called the 'Sister Fight Protocol', to help them resolve their issues," Lincoln simply replied.

"Thank you for being honest with us, Lincoln. I have no further questions," the Prosecutor stated, as Lincoln returned to his seat. Lincoln's sisters were all beside themselves. Their brother was talking smack about them in front of an entire room of people, and about things that they felt Lincoln had no business disclosing. All the while, their defense attorney, Rachel, was covering her face in embarrassment, but hoped things could get better.

"Does the defense have anything to say to Lincoln's testimony?" the Judge asked.

"Yeah, we have some things to say! That little nerd should keep his trap shut for the rest of this pointless trial! What happened in our house is OUR business!" Lynn Jr. yelled, sounding livid.

"I'm just telling the truth as a swore I would," Lincoln retorted passively.

"Will the defense call their first witness?" the Judge asked.

"O-of course your honor. The Defense calls Lynn Loud Sr. to the stand," Rachel stated, as the Loud Patriarch approached the stand. He took the oath, as the prosecutor approached him.

"Now then, Lynn, would you please explain to the court your relationship to your son?" he asked.

"Of course! Lincoln's my only son," Lynn Sr. replied.

"So tell me, why would you willingly side with your daughters when you should've known what they were suggesting was against the law?" the Prosecutor asked.

"Well, all of his sisters were saying that he was bad luck, and since they all said the same thing, it had to be true. That, and I didn't want them to think I was defending Lincoln on account of favoritism," Lynn Sr. replied. Bad move on his part.

"So, you're tell us that you sided with your daughters, all of whom have clearly been poorly raised, just because you don't want to be called out on favoritism?" the Prosecutor asked incredulously.

"Yeah. Why do you sound so surprised?" Lynn Sr. asked.

"Lynn, by siding with your daughter against your only son, your basically exhibiting favoritism!" the Prosecutor explained.

"Oh. Well, this is... awkward," Lynn Sr. meekly stated.

"I would like to question you about why you and the rest of your family sold all of Lincoln's stuff, but it's clear you only did it because your daughters are clearly your favorites. I have no further questions," the Prosecutor dismissed Lynn Sr., who was met with the disgusted glares of the crowd, and the jury.

"What the hell you two?! I thought you said you guys didn't do anything illegal!" Rachel seethed.

"That's because we didn't! Lincoln's bad luck, so we sent him away and got rid of his stuff to protect ourselves! How is that illegal?!" Rita shot back.

"Every bit of what you said makes it illegal!" Rachel snapped back.

"Is there a problem?" the Judge asked.

"Oh, no problem here! Just having a chat with my clients!" Rachel quickly defended.

"Then would you please call your next witness?" the Judge asked. Rachel didn't know who to call. It was clear that they all had something against their brother. She then got an idea, looking at Lucy and Lisa.

"Defense called Lucy Loud to the stand," Rachel stating, hoping that Lucy wouldn't do anything to plunge her clients any further down the drain.

"I'm already here," Lucy said, appearing at the stand, causing everyone to jump.

"Please refrain from doing that," The Judge requested. Like the two previous witnesses, Lucy took the oath, as the Prosecutor approached the stand.

"Now than, Lucy, what is your relation to your brother?" he asked.

"He's my older brother," Lucy replied.

"Ok. Now then, from what I understand, you have a natural affinity for the occult, am I right?" the Prosecutor asked.

"Yes. I love anything relating to the darkness of human society," Lucy replied.

"Does that include luck?" the Prosecutor asked.

"Well, I do have some spell books that have spells that intensifies a person's misfortune, but they're mostly used for revenge purposes, not something I can do just anyone I please," Lucy explained.

"I see. So tell me, do you believe that your brother is bad luck?" the Prosecutor asked.

"What kind of a question is that?! We already know he's bad luck!" Lynn Jr. yelled out, only to be silenced by the Judge's gavel.

"One more interruption out of you Miss Loud, and I will add contempt of court to your family's already long list of charges!" he threatened, before turning to Lucy, "Now then, Lucy, please answer the question."

"Truthfully? Lincoln was never bad luck to begin with," Lucy explained, gaining several dropped jaws from her family, apart from Lisa.

"Care to elaborate?" the Prosecutor asked.

"Well, I often hold seances to communicate with my late Great Grandmother, Harriet. She warned me that the family's days were numbered, and that we were going to be ripped apart. I now see what she meant," Lucy explained.

"I see, but that doesn't necessarily answer my question," the Prosecutor replied.

"Well, you see, when Lincoln came to me, claiming to be bad luck, I chose to go along with his excuse, and let him have the day off from my grave digging competition. I felt like I owed him one for saving me at one point," now Lincoln looked up, a look of surprise on his face, as he knew what Lucy was talking about.

"He saved you? Explain, please," the Prosecutor requested.

"Well, there a recent incident with the toilet getting clogged, and Lincoln got the full blame for it. TO be fair, he has a history of clogging the toilet, but this time, he was innocent," Lucy explained.

"Would any of you care to elaborate on the subject?" the Prosecutor asked the Louds.

"I'll tell the whole thing, if Lucy will allow a little bit of truth in this courtroom!" Lola volunteered.

"Here we go," Lincoln muttered, rolling his eyes.

"See, Lincoln clogged the toilet with a Princess Pony Book, which is even worse than those stupid Ace Savvy Comics he reads or the costume he made based on him!" Lola explained, not a trace of guilt in her tone.

"Really? Then tell, is there any proof that the Book was his?" the Prosecutor asked.

"The only proof I needed was his sisters telling me that it was him," Lynn Sr. passively.

"So naturally, we did the appropriate thing when he came clean, and we vowed to tease him forever for it, because anyone who reads Princess Pony would literally be the laughingstock of the house!" Lori added, gaining disapproving glares from her parents. Not that she noticed the glares, or even cared.

"Here's some evidence that would no doubt clear Lincoln's name of that incident," Lucy said, pulling out a notebook with a skull print cover wrapped around it.

"Your poetry notebook? How would that clear that dork's name?" Luan questioned.

"Take off the cover," Lucy said, sounding like she was bracing herself for ridicule. The Prosecutor took the notebook, and took off the cover, to reveal colorful ponies on the cover, much to the shock of the Louds.

"Wait, you're telling me that YOU read Princess Pony?!" Lola exclaimed.

"I do. Even goths need a break from the darkness," Lucy replied.

"But why would Lincoln take the fall for something he didn't do?" Lana asked.

"Because he knew I couldn't handle the teasing you would put me through," Lucy replied. The family sat their in disbelief. They had ridiculed and punished Lincoln for something he didn't do. Even the lone brother was surprised by how selfless his spooky sister was acting.

"Thank you for being honest, Lucy. But why pray tell, in light of the fact your brother did this, did you still lock him out of his own home?," the Prosecutor asked, giving back Lucy's notebook.

"I attempted to tell the others of what was going to happen, but they never listen to me. Lisa also tried to talk them out of it, but it was too late," Lucy explained.

"I see. Thank you Lucy. I have no further questions," the Prosecutor said, before approaching the jury, "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. As you can tell by this testimony, the Loud Parent's logic of always siding with their daughters is flawed! And their style of determining who is truly guilty of a crime is flawed!" he exclaimed.

"Your honor, might I call for a recess?" Rachel asked, sounding absolutely embarrassed.

"I'll allow it," the Judge replied, banging his gavel.

Realtime,

"So, you provided testimony, which ended up exposing your family to the public?" Will asked.

"Pretty much. Though for the part of the trial where the jury gave the verdict, I noticed Aunt Rachel wasn't there," Lincoln commented.

"She gave us all an earful, before walking out on us, saying the trial was too one-sided in favor of you," Lori explained.

"So after the recess, the jury gave the guilty verdict for all charges, and I challenged my sisters to Duel Monsters, where they ended up loosing," Lincoln said.

"What happened then?" Toby asked.

"See, one problem that Lincoln's sisters all have is that they can't control their anger, even with a system to calm them down," Liam explained.

"During the Duel, Lincoln kept provoking his sisters on purpose, which led to them making a lot of careless mistakes," Rusty added.

"Needless to say, the Duel was much like the trial. It was in favor of Lincoln right from the start," Girl Jordan concluded, just as the bell went off.

"Well, like I said before, I can't approve of lying, but I approve of what you girls did to your brother even less than lying," Will said, as he and them went to go collect their Pokeballs.

"So, I guess we're heading for The Alter of the Sunne, huh?" Clyde asked.

"Yeah. But I was looking over the map on Rotom, and it looks like we have to navigate through a treacherous valley known as 'Vast Poni Canyon'," Lisa stated.

"Ooook," Clyde said, sounding like he still didn't trust Lisa. Just then, the four trainers came back, along with Lillie, who was stocking up on supplies for the trip.

"Alright guys, we're heading out," Will said, as the large group left the Pokémon Center, and heading towards the canyon.
